Chapter 487 - Ultimate Saint Law Fragment!

Luo Wushuang’s aura shifted, and his remaining cultivation surged to its peak. A vast, elusive, and unfathomable presence emerged on him. It wasn’t the power of an immortal spirit, but a secret technique from the Heavenly Secret Art.

He and Gu Han were only a few zhang apart. In a mere instance, he had already charged before Gu Han. “You’re dead! I am the variable! I am the chosen one!"

In the distance, Yang Yi’s great spear trembled before he aimed it at Luo Wushuang. But Gu Han was faster than him. His injuries had mostly healed by now. Feeling the undisguised killing intent emanating from Luo Wushuang, he narrowed his eyes and thrust his sword toward him.

Just as the sword was about to land on Luo Wushuang, his aura vanished in an instant. He had outright abandoned all resistance. His right hand turned over, and a dense mass of gray qi condensed in his palm. Even as the sword closed in, he remained focused on absorbing the qi. Their figures crossed paths in an instant.

Gu Han deeply furrowed his brow. “What the hell is wrong with you?!”

Luo Wushuang stood motionless. A clear sword mark was etched across his brow, and his qi was rapidly dissipating.

Luo Wushuang sighed softly. “If I had asked you to kill me earlier, would you have done it?”

Gu Han couldn’t answer. Though he had killed countless people, there was no enmity between him and Luo Wushuang. Even if Luo Wushuang had asked, he most likely would not have swung his sword.

Luo Wushuang smiled in relief, murmuring, “So I had no choice but to resort to this. The Heavenly Secret Art, Resentment Backlash. Besides, dying at the hands of a variable like you means no one will ever find me.”

As he slowly turned around, he began to crumble like rock weathered for countless ages.

Half his body had already vanished, yet he seemed oblivious, staring intently at Gu Han. “Gu Han, the next time we meet, we’ll be real opponents! You killed me once today. In the future, I will surely kill you once!”

Gu Han fell silent for a moment. “Madman! You really are a madman!”

Suddenly, a vast heavenly might descended, filled with fury. Countless bolts of red lightning appeared in the sky above, their sparks dyeing the entire area in a shade of crimson.

By then, only Luo Wushuang’s head remained. He gazed at the lightning and smiled. “Father, before I depart, I’ve left you a little gift. I hope you like it.”

Then, the last trace of qi in his eyes vanished completely, and his head turned to ash. However, instead of scattering, it wrapped around the small remaining half of the gray qi and slowly settled before Gu Han. The second Luo Wushuang disappeared, the red lightning in the sky intensified. The heavenly might’s fury had nearly reached its peak.

Gu Han cursed loudly, “Luo Wushuang, you bastard!”

Why Luo Wushuang had been so determined to die, he did not know. Still, one thing was certain: the madman set him up!

In the sky above, Yang Yi paused. His form wavered slightly, seemingly unstable. The Red Dust Intent swirling in his eyes flickered, and a hint of struggle appeared. The next moment, his gaze returned to calm. Abandoning the dying Wu Xin, his figure blurred before reappearing in front of Gu Han. He flicked his spear, pointing its tip straight at Gu Han.

The development didn’t take Gu Han by surprise. Since Yang Yi was part of the forces nurtured by the Immortal Spirit Clan, he had likely received new orders to attack him.

Yang Yi said slowly, his voice still cold, “You are a worthy opponent. A very worthy one, in fact. Unfortunately, your cultivation level is a bit low.”

Gu Han raised his sword slowly. “Come on.”

Within his mind, the tender sprout trembled, and traces of Mortal World Intent continuously adhered to the sword.

This time, Yang Yi moved first. He no longer held back like before. Boundless Red Dust Intent gathered relentlessly, enveloping his spear until it became faintly translucent. Before the attack even landed, its overwhelming aura already forced Gu Han to retreat.

Gu Han sighed, knowing he was powerless against it. He smiled self-deprecatingly, but his sword moved as well. Maybe it’s because I owed Yang Ying a life back then. The time has come for me to repay him... I guess it’s karma.

The spear swept up a sky full of spear projections, crushing all hope of ever matching its might. However, its aim was wildly off. Although the two were not far apart, the attack flew past a good ten zhang away from Gu Han.

Gu Han froze instantly. Carelessness? No. That was intentional!

Yang Yi did not even look at him. His left hand extended, and the spear exploded, further amplifying an already devastatingly powerful assault. He was grasping something tightly.

Meanwhile, the pass continued to appear as usual, and everyone continued on. By then, only four remained: Feng Xi, Fatty, Qiu Qian, and Hui Ren. They had finally reached the ninth heavenly pass, which required cultivation above the Saint realm.

As for the reward, it certainly lived up to the title of ultimate pass. It was a law fragment! And not just any ordinary one, but an Ultimate Saint Law Fragment! Even if one did not cultivate the Supreme Stage path, it would greatly benefit the achievement of an Ultimate Saint physique. Of course, everyone coveted it.

Among them, Qiu Qian and Hui Ren sought it for themselves, while Fatty and Feng Xi sought it for Gu Han.

A series of deafening booms rang out continuously. Red lightning crackled and intertwined in the sky above. Below, Feng Xi took on Qiu Qian and Hui Ren at once. Not only did she not struggle, but she was also winning. Of course, that was not to say Qiu Qian was weak. It was just that Hui Ren’s performance was somewhat underwhelming, at best serving as a filler.

Fatty sighed with emotion, walking unhurriedly toward the Ultimate Saint Law Fragment. “I knew it. I was number one all along. This is just destiny!”

He reached out to grab the fragment. “Bastard, don’t you dare die! Or else this thing will end up in my han—!”

An overwhelmingly powerful attack descended, faintly carrying Boundless Red Dust Intent, blasting Fatty far away. He coughed up blood as he flew. Then, a massive hand formed from endless profound qi snatched the fragment.

Feng Xi and the other two moved to intercept, but it was too late. The massive hand had already vanished as if it had never existed.

Staring at the now-empty ninth heavenly pass, Fatty turned pale. “Where is it? Where’s my fragment?! Which bastard did this?! How fucking shameless can you be?!”

Yang Yi slowly extended his left hand, where the ultimate saint law fragment lay clearly.
