Supreme Sword Exalt
Chapter 558 - Tool Man
Suppressing the longing in his heart, Gu Han walked over and picked up the storage ring from Li Mao’s severed arm. After a moment’s hesitation, he wrapped a layer of spirit power around his hand and also took the one belonging to the old ancestor. Xiao Hei voiced its displeasure, but Gu Han just ignored it. He swept his divine sense over the rings and found that Li Mao hadn’t been lying. He really was loaded!
Two saint herbs, four half-saint herbs, along with seven to eight hundred drops of Transcendent Substance. Even the healing pills were top-quality ones he’d never seen before. One bottle was even refined from saint herbs! Of course, the five tokens to the Kunling Relic Site were also there. The only thing that wasn’t there were the Soul Crystals, which was a slight letdown.
In contrast, the old ancestor was downright poor. Aside from two relic site tokens, only some Transcendent Substance and two half-saint herbs were worth Gu Han’s notice.
He thought for a moment since he felt a bit dissatisfied. This Old Ancestor seemed even stronger than Old Ancestor Changmei, so wouldn’t his family have even more good stuff?
At that thought, he swung his sword, and Li Mao’s corpse instantly turned to dust. Not that he had a habit of desecrating corpses, but completely destroying the body saved him some unnecessary trouble.
With that done, he turned to Xiao Hei. “Are you hungry?”
Xiao Hei let out another burp before baring its teeth at him again.
Gu Han was in disbelief. There’s no communicating with this one!
He could only helplessly look at Chongming. “Master Rooster, how about we go scavenging?”
Chongming looked at him with disdain. “Kid, you’re the Sword Chief! Why are you always fussing over this kind of low-grade stuff—”
“I’ll give you the Soul Crystals!”
Chongming changed his tune instantly. “Xiao Hei, get a good sniff! That yellow-haired bastard bullied you! We can’t just let this slide!”
Xiao Hei nodded in agreement, twitched its nose twice, and locked onto the old ancestor’s lingering aura. It then shot off into the distance with Chongming.

At the back mountain of the Qilian Sect, the sect master was playing a game of Go with an elder of the sect.
Suddenly, a disciple came running over again. “Sect Master, the old ancestor’s spirit tea has gone cold again.”
The Qilian Sect Master’s expression stiffened. “Go! Keep it warm with spirit power! I want to make sure the tea is warm when Old Ancestor returns!”
The disciple quickly withdrew. “Understood!”
Across from him, the elder couldn’t hold back any longer. “Sect Master, Old Ancestor has been gone for most of the day now. This...”
He felt something was off. The old ancestor had told them to prepare some tea before leaving to subdue a spirit beast. They had warmed the tea more than a dozen times by now, yet there was still no sign of him!
The Qilian Sect Master smiled. “You worry too much. Not to brag, but with Old Ancestor’s cultivation and Young Master Li’s status, even those first-rate forces are places they can waltz through freely—”
Just then, another disciple came running up in a panic. “Sect Master, the sect’s mountain gate has been torn down!”
The Qilian Sect Master shot to his feet, his aura scattering and reducing the Go board and pieces to dust. “What! Who did it?! Which dog did it?!”
The disciple was taken aback. Could the sect master see the future? How did he know a dog did it?

Outside the mountain gate, Xiao Hei kept spitting as its eyes full of disgust. It felt like the mountain gate didn’t taste good. Not only was it bland, but it also made it feel bloated.
Not far away, an elder of the Qilian Sect was already dumbfounded. The small spirit beast simply opened and closed its mouth, and our mountain gate was gone?
Chongming eyed the elder sideways. “Speak! Where’s your sect’s secret realm?”
The elder was caught off guard. “W-what are you going to do?”
Chongming stared at him like he was an idiot. “Scavenge! Otherwise, do you think I came all the way here for fun?”
Behind him, Gu Han stood quietly, completely inconspicuous. He even felt like he didn’t have to be there.
Soon, over a dozen powerful auras rapidly approached from afar and landed before Chongming. Leading them was none other than the Qilian Sect Master, followed by five Feather Transformation realm elders. The remaining dozen or so were all at the Saint realm. Only a desolate, barren stretch of ground remained where their grand mountain gate had once stood.
The Qilian Sect Master was dumbfounded. Where’s my mountain gate?
His gaze then fell on Gu Han, killing intent flaring in his eyes. “Brat! You’ve got some nerve, coming to the Qilian Sect—”
Gu Han pointed at Chongming. “You got it all wrong. That one did it. I’m just here to help carry things.”
The Qilian Sect Master shifted his gaze and froze. Huh? A rooster demon? A dog? What the hell are these things?!
Chongming was still looking at him sideways. “Where’s the secret realm? Hand it over, and I promise I won’t sic the dog on you.”
Xiao Hei stood loyally by his side, snarling even though it didn’t seem intimidating in the slightest.
The Qilian Sect Master laughed in sheer fury. “What a disgrace! Has the Qilian Sect fallen so low that even a rooster and a dog can bully us? Old Ancestor, I fear that they will ruin your illustrious reputation today!”
If it were people, that would be one thing. But he really couldn’t accept a rooster demon and a dog... If word got out, what would others think of his sect?!
Xiao Hei rolled its eyes.
Chongming translated, “It says that your Old Ancestor doesn’t taste very good.”
One elder finally lost his patience. “I’ll stew you!”
His aura surged as his massive hand reached for Chongming.
The rooster instructed calmly, “Xiao Hei, bite them!”
Xiao Hei leaped in front of Chongming. With a shake, it grew to a thousand zhang in size, spreading its maw as it roared. The elder couldn’t react in time and flew straight into its mouth. Xiao Hei chewed a couple of times, then fixed its eyes on the rest of them.
The next moment, it opened its mouth and sucked in violently. A devouring force descended upon the area below. Anything within its devouring range lost control of themselves. In but a few breaths, the sect master, elders, mountain peaks, and palaces flew into its mouth.
As it continued to chew, the Qilian Sect was annihilated just like that. Such overwhelming might terrified the remaining sect disciples out of their wits. Without Chongming even needing to ask, they pointed out the location of the secret realm.
Gu Han’s spirits lifted as if he finally had a use. “Master Rooster, let me handle it!”
With that, he prepared to use a secret technique to break the barrier. Just then, Xiao Hei’s horn flashed with dark light as it rammed straight into the nexus between the secret realm and the outside world. It smashed a massive hole right through the secret realm’s barrier! Gu Han stiffened, and he quietly followed the rooster and the dog into the secret realm.
As soon as they entered, Chongming spotted a white jade pavilion with a table made of the same material inside. Two teacups sat on the table, filled with spirit tea swirling with mist. There were even faint traces of law fragments intertwining within. Beneath the teacups, a chi-wide barrier glowed faintly, apparently maintaining the tea’s temperature.
With a flicker of movement, Chongming transformed into a streak of light and shot into the pavilion. He picked up a teacup and downed it in one gulp.
After drinking, he still had something to say about it. “It’s alright.”
Beside him, Xiao Hei had also shrunk back down to a chi in length and finished the other cup of spirit tea. Imitating Chongming, it also offered its review. Although it couldn’t really tell good tea from bad, it knew that the tea hadn’t gone cold yet.
Gu Han was once again in disbelief. Having missed out on the spirit tea, he could only sigh and transform into a tool man. He then diligently gathered the resources within this secret realm.
