Supreme Swordsman System
Chapter 4 - 04 - I Am King
Feeling a little itchy on his head, King gently rubbed it a few times, and the feeling immediately disappeared. At this moment, even larger chunks of concrete came crashing down.
"Tsk, so annoying."
King was about to swing his sword and slash them apart, but seeing that it was too troublesome and meaningless, he bent his knees and jumped out of the range of the collapsing building.
This jump, which covered a hundred meters, almost made him fail to land properly. The system gave him swordsmanship techniques but did not give him any jumping techniques, so it was normal for him to be a little clumsy.
"Haha, if I could jump this far back then, all the world records would probably have belonged to me forever."
King smirked and swung the sword a few times to see how it felt in his hand. Sure enough, the gift from the system did not disappoint him. The more he swung it, the more he felt like he had been familiar with the sword for a long time.
"System, give me some suggestions for something fun to do. I’m not interested in charging into the tower and killing things nonstop day after day either."
For King now, becoming invincible was only a matter of time. He was in no hurry and did not want to do something boring like that.
[Congratulations, you have reached Rank III. Three divine skills are being unlocked.]
[First divine skill - Heaven-Splitting Sword.]
[Second divine skill - Moon Severing Sword.]
[Third divine skill - Void Piercing Sword]
A huge amount of new information suddenly appeared in King’s mind. Even without needing to practice at all, as long as he still had enough strength, he could immediately use the divine skills.
"System, you’re giving me way too much. I just finished trying it out, and now you’re directly giving me the permanent version. And on top of that, there are three divine skills."
King was extremely satisfied with the system’s performance. He felt that he did not need to work too hard before the system would give him the power he needed.
[This isn’t because of me, but because you chose your target accurately. If the first enemy you killed with your sword had been an ordinary person, you wouldn’t have received anything.]
The system was blatantly flattering him, but King really liked hearing it. With a system this sensible, what more could he ask for?
"Tell me, is there anything interesting for me to do?"
[Of course there is. If there weren’t plenty of things for you to do, how would I dare come here to be your support system?]
The powerful system kept flattering King, making him very happy. With the system’s assurance, King was certain that it had already made arrangements.
"Oh, tell me about it."
[Do you really think a tiny world like this is worthy of a great existence like you?]
Was this even a question? No, this was a hint mixed with some blatant flattery from the system toward King.
"You mean I can go to other worlds too?"
[That’s right. When the protagonist of another world needs help, the system will issue a mission to you. As long as you successfully help the protagonist of another world, the Heavenly Dao there will reward you. It can help you level up without needing to absorb dark qi.]
King nodded. Going to many other worlds really did sound a little interesting. But wasn’t this reward a little too ordinary? He could still level up like crazy by entering the tower, so why bother giving him more EXP?
"The reward is too crappy."
The system kept flattering King, while King did not give it any face at all and bluntly spat on the ground to show his disdain for these rewards.
[I know. But does a great existence like you need rewards? The real point is, isn’t it incredibly prestigious for the Heavenly Dao to personally come out and reward you? Besides, isn’t it wonderful that the protagonists of those worlds all have to stare in shock as you show off right in front of them?]
[Think about it carefully. Whenever the protagonist encounters danger, it can all be resolved according to the original plot, so why would they need you to save them? It’s simply because the Heavenly Dao of those worlds wants to welcome you for a visit, so they came up with these little tricks.]
The system was incredibly professional at flattering people. After listening to its reasoning for a while, King suddenly felt that this wasn’t such a bad idea.
"Then it’s settled. When can I go?"
[Don’t worry. You can only appear when the protagonist encounters danger.]
"That’s fine. What I lack the most right now is time."
King glanced around. He had yet to fully experience this world that was both familiar and unfamiliar to him, so there was no need to rush.
At this moment, the blaring sirens of police cars, ambulances, fire trucks, and many other vehicles rang out, making King frown.
"Tsk, so noisy."
Perhaps because of his sense of superiority, King had absolutely no sympathy for the victims of what had just happened.
Eden hurried over to King with Emily in his arms. The fear and admiration in his eyes toward King were extremely obvious, which made King very satisfied.
"Sir Mark..."
As soon as Eden met him, he bowed to King to show his respect, but King slapped him directly across the face, knocking him to the ground.
As someone with a fairly high social status, this was the first time Eden had ever been openly slapped in the face like this, leaving him stunned.
Everything had happened too suddenly, so Eden had no idea why he had been slapped like this. As soon as he got back up, the first thing he did was look at King with a confused expression.
He did not dare say anything stupid now because he knew King would not show him even the slightest bit of respect. The strength King had just displayed was far beyond his own, so he did not want to court death.
"Who the hell is Mark? Remember, I’m King."
King had no memories of Mark, let alone cared who Mark was. As far as he was concerned, the guy named Mark had used this body just to ’maintain’ it for him.
Eden was confused, and Emily was no less confused. The name on the documents was clearly Mark, so why did he insist on saying he was King?
Only now did Emily notice that Mark was extremely different today. If his appearance was excluded, King really had nothing in common with Mark.
