Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 461 - 460: Late-Night Snack
Chapter 461: Chapter 460: Late-Night Snack
Four points of Strength! And four points of agility!!
That was a total of eight attribute points, all from a single dish.
S-Class ingredients truly lived up to their name, as did Dragon Meat.
Seraphina Sinclair was overcome with emotion, rendered speechless for a long moment.
Seeing her silent for so long, the waiter opened the next container and continued with the introductions. "Stir-fried Dragon Tendon. Made from the ligaments of the dragon’s spine, flash-fried over high heat with a touch of spice. The texture is firm and chewy. Eating this will permanently increase your Constitution by 3 points."
"This one only gives three points?"
Seraphina Sinclair found it strange. ’Aren’t Dragon Tendons supposed to be the best material from a dragon? How come the attribute increase isn’t even as high as the Loin Meat?’
Her gaze fell upon the golden-brown stir-fried Dragon Tendon. The inch-long pieces of tendon glistened under the light, dotted with bits of red pepper. It looked absolutely exquisite.
One could tell it was delicious just by looking at it.
But Seraphina Sinclair was a pragmatist. She cared more about attribute points than taste and texture, which was why she had asked.
The waiter explained, "Dragon Tendons are good, but their effect isn’t as potent as the Loin Meat. The Loin Meat is a larger cut and contains more nutrients, which is why it provides a greater increase in attribute points."
So that’s how it was.
Still...
Seraphina Sinclair truly hadn’t expected The Black Mist World to be so scientific about things.
"And this," the waiter said, opening the fifth container. Inside was a dish of thinly sliced meat, much lighter in color than the previous dishes, almost a pinkish-white. "Dragon Brain Freeze. Made from the marrow within the dragon’s skull, processed into a jelly-like substance using special techniques. The texture is as dense and smooth as paste. Eating this will permanently increase your Intelligence by 5 points and offers a chance—albeit a very slim one—to learn a pressure-type Skill from the Dragonkin."
Seraphina Sinclair’s eyebrow twitched.
’Five points of Intelligence!’
’That number is already incredibly high.’
’Most importantly, this is a direct boost from just eating. All I have to do is eat this food, and I’ll get these attribute points!’
’No strenuous training, no life-or-death struggles in dungeons.’
’If word of this got out, I can’t imagine how many people would die of envy.’
’And there’s even a chance to learn a Dragonkin Skill.’
’It’s just absurdly powerful.’
She took a deep breath and looked at the remaining food containers.
The waiter, seeming to get excited as well, opened them one by one: Dragon Liver Slices, Dragon Tail Stew, Dragon Claw Porridge, Dragon Scale Jelly...
A full twelve food containers now covered the entire stone table.
And this... was only a small portion of what the waiter had set aside for Seraphina Sinclair.
There was a limit to the attribute points food could grant. After Seraphina Sinclair ate these dishes, her body’s ability to absorb their benefits would be saturated.
If she ate any more after that, it would be for taste alone; there would be no other benefit.
Seraphina Sinclair was quite open-minded about it. ’Since I can’t get any more attribute points, and the waiter is processing it for free, I might as well have the rest made into full meals and sell them at the restaurant.’
’Who doesn’t like Black Fog Coins?’
Besides, these were S-Class ingredients. After she ate them, the effects of the steamed cucumber and stewed venison that Gray had brought would be greatly diminished. Even B-level and A-level foods would have little to no effect.
At first, Seraphina Sinclair had wondered if she should consume the food tier by tier, letting her body gradually adapt to the ingredients and the power they provided, thinking it might yield better results.
But the books Gray had given her were very clear.
It was all the same.
No matter how Seraphina Sinclair ate these meals, the final effect would be identical.
In that case, rather than taking it step by step, she might as well go all in.
Seraphina Sinclair handed the fish she had caught to the waiter, telling it to take them back, process them, and sell them along with the Dragon Meat.
The waiter didn’t agree immediately. Instead, it crouched down and peered into the bucket of fish. "These are all C-level? And there’s a B-level one, too?"
Seraphina Sinclair followed the waiter’s gaze to the bucket.
The B-level fish rested quietly at the bottom, its scales shimmering with a faint blue light, standing out from the small, silver-white C-level fish around it.
She remembered it had taken considerable effort to catch this one. The Green Flood Dragon Tendon had nearly snapped, and in the end, she’d had to rely on the 8 points of Strength from her Laminated Long Blade to haul it in by sheer force.
"Yes, one B-level and thirteen C-level," Seraphina Sinclair said. "What’s wrong? Is it a problem to process them?"
The waiter shook its head and pointed at a few of the fish. "These ones can yield a rather nice material, but if we’re to harvest it, a portion of the edible meat will have to be sacrificed."
Seraphina Sinclair was quite surprised.
In her impression, the waiter had always been a creature that cherished ingredients above all else.
Its eyes would light up every time high-grade ingredients were mentioned, and it handled the fish meat with extreme care, as if dealing with something fragile.
’Now it’s actually suggesting sacrificing edible parts for materials?’
"You are the customer, and you have the right to know. It is my duty to inform you. Moreover, we are partners. You’ve shown your respect for our contract, so I should respect you in turn."
The waiter’s words took Seraphina Sinclair aback for a moment, and then she smiled.
"Alright," she said. "You can make the call. You know better than I do which ones to harvest for materials and which to keep for meat."
The waiter nodded, a smile also appearing on its face.
This wasn’t the exaggerated expression it usually wore, but a more natural, gentler one.
Seraphina Sinclair suddenly felt that this creature had become a little more human.
"Then I’ll take out the swim bladders from these few, and the gall bladder from the B-level one," it said, pointing at the fish in the bucket. "I’ll turn the rest into dried fish jerky. It has a long shelf life, making it easy to store and sell."
Seraphina Sinclair waved her hand. "You decide."
The waiter picked up the bucket, bid farewell to Seraphina Sinclair, and left through the Lightgate.
The Lightgate slowly closed, and only when the last sliver of light vanished did Seraphina Sinclair look away.
She sat up straight, picked up her utensils, and began to eat!
Although the portion size of each dish wasn’t large, the sheer number of them was considerable. Coupled with the fact that Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t used to eating late-night meals, she could only eat for a while and then rest.
Night fell, deep and quiet. The cabin was illuminated by the warm, bright firelight.
The food containers on the stone table were now empty.
Of the twelve Dragon Meat dishes, not a single drop of soup was left.
Seraphina Sinclair leaned back in her chair, staring up at a point in the empty air, her gaze slightly unfocused.
She didn’t move, barely even breathed.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, but that her body was undergoing a kind of change she couldn’t put into words.
It started in her stomach.
A warm sensation spread from her stomach, like a thermal spring slowly flowing through her body.
Then, this warmth branched into countless trickles, spreading through her blood vessels and meridians to every limb and extremity.
Her muscles began to tremble slightly.
It wasn’t the kind of trembling from extreme exhaustion, when you can’t muster any strength. Instead, it was more like...
Seraphina Sinclair pondered for a long time before finding the right word: ’reforging’.
