Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 465 - 464: The Highest Record Holder
Chapter 465: Chapter 464: The Highest Record Holder
But that was all in the past!
Now, as long as she could find dewdrops from the Life Spring, planting the Unknown Seed would be as easy as planting vegetables!
Seraphina Sinclair immediately opened the trading channel and tried searching for the name.
Nothing.
She frowned in thought for a moment, then her mind turned to 001.
’The well-traveled Traveling Merchant 001 must know what this is.’
With this thought, Seraphina relaxed a bit. After properly complimenting Luna Jacobs on her craftsmanship, she took out another blueprint.
The Furnace Blueprint!
Crafting the C-level simple composting device required five Iron Ingots. The methods she currently knew for obtaining them were too dependent on luck. It would be best to improve the Furnace Blueprint and see if she could get a steady supply.
Luna Jacobs took the blueprint, gave her an "OK" sign, and then suddenly chuckled. "You’re really something, boss. Working me like a mule. No time to rest at all. The next one comes right after I finish the last?"
Seraphina didn’t feel the least bit embarrassed. In fact, she replied matter-of-factly, "No, it’s not one after another."
She took out all the blueprints she had and laid them out in front of Luna Jacobs. "It’s one down, and a whole pile waiting for you."
Luna Jacobs: "..."
’Fine,’ she thought. ’It’s not like I actually have a problem with it. I just wanted to tease Seraphina a little.’
’Who knew she was so thick-skinned? What a miscalculation.’
Seeing Luna Jacobs’s deflated expression, the corners of Seraphina’s mouth curled up slightly.
"Don’t just stand there," she said. "The Furnace Blueprint is the priority. You can schedule the others as you see fit."
Luna Jacobs nodded in resignation, gathering up the stack of blueprints and leaving only the Furnace Blueprint in front of her.
She picked up her Polishing Knife, took a deep breath, and began to work.
Seraphina sat on the stool, lost in thought for a moment. She definitely had enough strength now to challenge the D-level Coliseum.
But that guild leader had targeted her so deliberately last time. Before this challenge, she had to be fully prepared.
Seraphina laid out her rune painting supplies on the stone table. Just as she was about to begin, she suddenly remembered something.
There seemed to be a line in her workbench’s Description—"This machine can use Black Fog Coins for one-click purchases and replacements!"
’If I can use Black Fog Coins for one-click purchases... then the dewdrops from the Life Spring...’
Seraphina immediately stood up.
Before she had crafted the workbench, she’d been overjoyed by this feature. One-click purchases meant convenience. It also meant that as long as she had enough Black Fog Coins, she could skip the tedious gathering process and obtain the materials she needed directly!
But after she crafted the workbench and tried this feature for herself, Seraphina was utterly disappointed.
There was no other reason. It was just too expensive.
That’s right.
It was too expensive.
Even basic materials, when bought from the workbench, were much more expensive than trading for them directly on the trading channel.
Before, Seraphina didn’t have many Black Fog Coins, so she naturally never considered the workbench’s shop when she was short on materials.
But things were different for Seraphina now. Not only was she holding nearly 400,000 Black Fog Coins, but her collaboration with 001 hadn’t even started bringing in profits yet. She was convinced that once it did, it would be another huge influx of Black Fog Coins!
She would find out exactly how much when 001 returned today.
Seraphina walked over to the workbench and placed the simple composting device blueprint on it. A panel immediately popped up in front of her.
[To craft the simple composting device, you need: Iron Ingot x5 (Missing), wood x15.]
With a sense of trepidation, she looked at the required number of Black Fog Coins.
The cost was 50,000 Black Fog Coins.
In other words, a single Iron Ingot cost 10,000 Black Fog Coins.
Seraphina: "..."
This price wasn’t just expensive; it was absurdly, outrageously high.
Although most trades on the trading channel were item-for-item, there were occasional Black Fog Coin transactions. Seraphina remembered seeing an Iron Ingot sell for 1,000 Black Fog Coins once.
Even on the trading channel, that was considered an extremely high price.
And here the workbench’s one-click purchase was, multiplying that price more than ten times over.
Seraphina took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to think, ’Whoever wants to use this useless feature can go right ahead.’ She focused her gaze on the checkbox.
’What will the price be if I check the box for the Life Spring dewdrops?’
Her finger moved, and she tapped the checkbox. As expected, the word "Missing" appeared next to the material.
The number on the panel flickered.
[Required Black Fog Coins: 200,000]
Seraphina stared at the number, silent for two seconds.
200,000.
One damn material was going to cost her 150,000 Black Fog Coins?!
She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
’I’ll wait and ask 001 first,’ she thought. ’Even if I’m rich, I’m not going to waste money for no reason.’
「Two hours later.」
Seraphina stuffed a thick stack of runes into her Silver Moon Earrings and took out the D-level Black Mist Coliseum Invitation Letter.
After she chose to use it, the Invitation Letter immediately stretched into a panel.
The words written on it were still the same.
[You may bring any items you wish, but remember: within The Coliseum, you are responsible for your own life and death. The victor wins glory and Strength; the loser pays with blood and life!]
[Confirm teleportation to The Coliseum?]
Seraphina glanced down at the Gloom Hatchling. It was sleeping soundly, completely unaware of her gaze.
’What kind of pet sleeps so soundly while its master is out fighting for her life?’
Seraphina walked over and unceremoniously poked the Gloom Hatchling’s head.
"Wake up."
The Gloom Hatchling groggily opened its eyes. So sleepy it looked like its eyes were rolling back, it stared at her with a look that screamed, "What do you want?"
Seraphina pointed to herself, then to The Coliseum’s teleportation panel.
"I’m going to fight. You’re coming with me."
The Gloom Hatchling’s eyes instantly shot wide open. It couldn’t understand her words, but it understood her meaning.
But all it wanted to do right now was sleep.
The Gloom Hatchling looked at Seraphina, then at the glowing teleportation panel. It then decisively squeezed its eyes shut, buried its head deeper into the bedding, and pretended it hadn’t heard a thing.
Seraphina let out a cold laugh.
She reached out, pinched the scruff of the Gloom Hatchling’s neck, and lifted it up like a kitten.
The Gloom Hatchling’s body dangled in the air, its four limbs hanging limply. It kept its eyes squeezed shut, putting on an "I’m already dead, don’t bother me" act.
Seeing its roguish act, Seraphina sneered again, said nothing more, and simply selected "Confirm."
Teleport!
The panel dissolved into countless motes of light that instantly engulfed her.
The light before them faded, and the familiar feelings of weightlessness and spatial disorientation enveloped the human and the dragon.
Once her vision cleared, Seraphina immediately tossed the Gloom Hatchling onto the ground.
Good. It was still the same familiar place, with the same familiar scent in the air.
The only difference was:
"Welcome, holder of the highest record in the E-level Coliseum—"
Seraphina froze mid-step.
She lifted her head and looked toward the enormous screen of light above The Coliseum.
