Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 2149 - 724: The Mighty God of Time and Space

Shaer didn’t even glance at Celene’s theatrics: that guy wouldn’t behave before leading herself to ruin again.

This act of feigned madness was familiar to Shaer, who had spent hundreds of thousands of years with Celene; it hardly moved her.

She used to seize opportunities linked to Celene’s falsehoods because every reason to act was precious.

But it didn’t mean she was truly angry... getting mad at such a rogue only showed that she still cared.

Shaer couldn’t pinpoint when she had stopped reacting to Celene’s behaviors... maybe because a sufficiently warm love had satiated her remaining feelings, so she stopped holding onto past memories.

She, dealing with matters related to Celene, now possessed enough reason.

For Shaer, as long as she could suppress Celene, everything else was manageable.

Unless at the brink of the end, Lansendel and Amanata would never collaborate... even knowing that Shaer was up to something immoral.

After all, it didn’t harm them.

The Toril Gods had long grown accustomed to solving their own targets.

Before the world faces collapse, they would seldom join forces.

An encounter like this world happens perhaps once in many years.

Even after brazenly appearing in Chult... Shaer couldn’t abandon her clandestine strategies.

She merely became more discreet, planning more intricately.

Though William kept his distance, avoiding Toril’s affairs, Shaer still noticed his occasional sighs in the face of massive civilian deaths.

The reason William didn’t focus on Shaer’s actions was partly due to an important point... despite her bloodshed, the deaths on her hands probably weren’t as numerous as those caused by ’benevolent’ gods.

After all, she mostly targeted the upper echelons.

As for humanity’s upper class... frankly, few civilians lived where they resided.

Even if her Chosen destroyed heaven and earth, ultimately it’s just a city.

Heh~ not to mention Lansendel, Celene’s victims were whole nations.

Good and evil in Toril... William couldn’t make sense of them, so he chose not to look.

Of course, William consciously ignored Toril’s histories marred by Shaer’s disruptions.

Shaer knew well that William concluded the current Toril had developed beyond a point where Shaer could manipulate it further.

If Toril had issues again... it would be AO discontented, not she who controlled everything.

Shaer vaguely understood that most powerful deities were unhappy with Toril’s past developments, so AO allowed her catastrophic success.

But, didn’t she know it herself?

Her seemingly erratic meddling was just to showcase to AO the world’s inadequacy!

The present Toril was hard to reboot... AO couldn’t bear the expense.

If disappointed again, Toril would revert to past tranquility.

Then, AO would only choose another suitable world, one where energy burgeoned upwards for his new plans.

Previously, Shaer didn’t care about the notoriety of world-ending falling onto her... as success couldn’t omit her arduous efforts.

Yet now, she’s glad to return credit to AO, as long as the world remained hers, it was enough.

Fortunately, William’s empathy was limited.

And that troublesome God of Time and Space, seemingly a nationalist... the type who viewed everything but Teraxil as wasteland.

Therefore, despite his immense power... not everyone could make Hill on the other side of the screen clearly see the runes’ manifestations... yet that one had no intention of expanding outward.

However... Shaer gazed lightly at the vast screen, as long as the Undead Tribe remained popular, the God of Time and Space truly needn’t leave Teraxil to display his might.

Could anyone in Toril dare underestimate him?

In another perspective, Teraxil was renowned throughout the Universe.

And achieved natural success without wars or blood-written glories.

Thus, Shaer respected the God of Time and Space warmly.

Though she was with William, it didn’t equate to the same feelings for William’s family and friends.

Showing a degree of goodwill was the furthest compromise the Lady of the Night could make.

Yet, she cherished the God of Time and Space... who truly showed her subtle erosion akin to gentle nourishment.

Did the God of Time and Space accomplish any grand feats?

Not at all.

Yet, just like the affair with the Greek Gods beforehand, the obvious hand of the God of Time and Space bore no comments from any god or demon... everyone tacitly acknowledged his qualification to partake in matters deemed the Multiverse’s strongest could involve.

Understand in the war on Heavenly Mountain, she and other Toril Gods, along with notorious Demon Princes and Grand Dukes of Hell, were clearly pawns.

Those truly playing chess are only AO, Abyssal Will, and Asmodeus representing Hell.

Yet, the God of Time and Space seems nonchalant, but his substantial influence goes unnoticed by everyone... Even those great devils of Hell, who always care about status, have no objections.

How did they ascertain the power of this God of Time and Space, who never steps outside?

Isn’t it all about the Undead Tribe and those mighty strange objects?

The Undead Tribe represents the God of Time and Space’s absolute grasp of space.

Though the energy provided for the Undead Tribe to act in various worlds seems to come from local deities... everyone knows that the small core is the most crucial thing.

Providing thousands upon thousands of elemental bodies with a shared, compartmentalized, bound storage space is slightly challenging, but powerful divine power can achieve it.

Yet, the Undead Tribe numbers in the billions!

That level of control shocks even AO.

That old guy, with his restraint from bringing home the treasures at hand, clearly shows his apprehension.

And these enormous curtains that can synchronize across all worlds... show his complete control over time.

It must be noted that not all worlds and planes have consistent flowing time.

In cases like this, with Lansendel and Hill simultaneously falling into introspection... it only proves that everything happening on the Heavenly Mountain is transmitted to Hill’s eyes without delay, not even a tenth of a millisecond behind.

Otherwise, why else would one have to venture into the most perilous places for direct insight? These runes, which cannot be recorded, will disappear immediately if delayed for even a second.

Dimensional transitions and water mirror synchronization can’t achieve this.

That is the domain of time.

A terrifying domain that even AO finds difficult to touch.

No one would dare to make an enemy of such a God of Time and Space.

If it were before he entered The River of Time and Space, there might have been a chance to knock him down and eradicate him.

But now The River of Time and Space belongs to him, no one would be foolish enough to attempt that.

That river holds, besides his own time, a very possible future of finding the mastery of your past time.

The most terrifying thing is, he also holds mastery over space.

A time-controller, when reversing time, faces the impact of time itself... so when they jump through time, they try their best to accomplish their goals in the shortest period.

This is the reason why the lifespan of time-controllers is hard to extend... Even if they become deities, the consumption of divine power is difficult to sustain.

Deities are not immortal; many factors can lead to their downfall... Overuse of divine power is one of the main reasons.

But the God of Time and Space is hardly affected by this: he can cloak himself in spatial power, avoiding contact with the current time-space until he discovers who or what he seeks.

What a terrifying power!

If it weren’t for her affection for William, Shaer wouldn’t even want to face this mighty being for a single moment.

To the Lady of the Night who always treasures her own safety, this truly is the greatest adventure of her life... After all, she is well aware that she is definitely not the Goddess that the God of Time and Space deems fitting for William.

Shaer, though always proud and self-regarding, would never ignore reality.

Fortunately, this one genuinely doesn’t care whom his offspring falls in love with, and even warmly offers Shaer a meeting gift.

Actually, Shaer knows that in sheer divine power, the God of Time and Space isn’t as mighty as AO.

Regarding influence, the God isn’t even as strong as Shaer in terms of suppression by divine power.

However, when does lethality ever depend on whose divine power is greater?

In Toril, the deity with the strongest accumulation of divine power is Shantia.

Who cares about her?

But when Shaer stands before the God of Time and Space, she feels a terrifying sensation like needles pricking her back.

This is, after confirming that as Primordial Darkness, no matter how she maneuvered, she would not easily fall, Shaer first felt ’likely to die.’

Though the other party’s demeanor is gentle.

Shaer first experiences what silent majesty means.

Though William later teases her about being ’a little wife meeting the in-laws,’ frightening herself.

Shaer, however, is keenly aware that the sensation is no mere illusion.

Yet, this is also splendid.

Shaer feels relieved, on the contrary.

Indeed, with an old silver coin lacking in virtue at home and an unscrupulous rogue who acts recklessly, anyone joining Shaer would be in danger.

But now, she is no longer afraid.

Ha~ If they dare, let the two come!
