Surviving The Fourth Calamity
Chapter 2151 - 726: Shaer True to Herself
However, this kind of divine artifact that accompanies the birth of the multiverse only needs to condense its true form sooner or later, definitely not lacking the ability to gather energy.
The Bottomless Abyss and the nine layers of hell are the same!
They only appeared slightly later, so the most essential part of the universe’s energy was already divided by the World Tree, the Elemental Realm, and Styx. And their nature is greedier, unwilling to rely on their own energy for gradual development, so they reach out to other worlds.
Heavenly Mountain came even later, resulting in a misstep that led to further missteps... But as an embodiment of positive energy, it certainly wouldn’t do something so unscrupulous.
And so, it ended up in its current predicament.
There’s no way, its goodness can’t stop those who covet it, which is bad.
The good and bad of the multiverse are just so indescribable... If looking only from their own interests, the abyss and hell aren’t necessarily wrong.
Hill glanced at the grand screen... The part of the gods of order who rushed over, paid a huge price, at least destroyed one of their own divine artifacts to escape the overwhelming demons and devils.
And those who made swift decisions were probably the brains among the gods of order.
Although they’re not necessarily good, at least they know what is most important.
Of course, the reason they initially didn’t expect this situation was due to an avatar of Asmodier, who had been overseeing the battlefield.
The gods of order never anticipated that the usually conservative lord of hell would place his precious avatar near so many demon lords, let alone dare to manifest his true form on Heavenly Mountain!
This became apparent when Asmodier started to resonate with the Pool of Life.
However, the two from Toril, despite being of the kind alignment, preferred watching the spectacle over slaying demons and devils.
They didn’t even think of giving a heads-up to the gods of order.
Yet, not alerting them was clearly the choice that aligned with fate, or else how could Hill and Lansendel have gained such an advantage?
Hill gleefully looked at the five bright light runes in his mental sea, already pondering ways to slightly remedy his magic book, perhaps even elevate it.
Of course, he was aware that if he made this choice, it would inevitably turn his magic book, which once had infinite possibilities, into a divine artifact with limits.
But, Hill thought that infinity is just an infinitely large pit.
If Hill were truly greedy, the outcome would undoubtedly be disastrous.
That’s why Celene’s proposal surprised him so much... What he wants is this discounted Power of the Silvermoon!
Although Celene isn’t reliable, her energy of primordial light is still very enticing.
However, if it’s the initially excessive divine power, it’s actually harder to use, after all, Hill only needs a catalyst.
Or, just glue.
Glue, like most things, is troublesome when excessive, insufficient when lacking, but always can be remedied... Even if glue can’t be added, at least two more blank pages can be.
Hill stroked his magic book, sensing his consciousness... Although still weak, it was at least stabilized.
The most damaged was the cover and the introductory pages at the beginning.
That’s why Celene’s Power of the Silvermoon suffered such loss, after all, it was an addition, not inherent to the magic book.
Hill wants just an artifact that won’t become terrifying with the passage of time, which doesn’t mean he doesn’t wish for his personal artifact to be stronger.
His goal is to prevent this artifact from endlessly increasing pages, but on this basis, having a few extra pages for backup is good.
Luckily, although Celene dislikes using her brain, it doesn’t mean she lacks common sense... And when she is rational, she wouldn’t randomly violate these common senses.
-----------------
Celene and Lansendel were a bit tense.
After all, that pool is the home ground, and Asmodier temporarily is his ally.
Their current situation is only slightly better than Rose’s.
Asmodier indeed wouldn’t break his oath, and would certainly hand over the Water of Life to the Spider Queen, but after the transaction, he wouldn’t care if Rose can fully bring back the Water of Life from the Pool of Life.
To the Pool of Life, Asmodier’s rebellious kin is tolerable, but what is Rose? Such an evil and filthy entity dare to enter his domain?
Therefore, as long as Rose’s life is intact, at least the kind alignment Celene and Lansendel won’t face real trouble.
The crux is, how much time will these gods of order need to create destructive force threatening the foundation of the Pool of Life.
If they’re fast enough, maybe even Rose can leave alive.
The big spider is aware of this too, but clearly trusts her ability to escape... To some extent, Hill guessed what she might do.
The little spiders of Aesces, rapidly burgeoning in the presence of strong life force, will surely be effective here.
Moreover, they are just creatures, not evil beings.
The Pool of Life, as a positive energy aggregation, even if loathes the little spiders, wouldn’t decisively kill so many young lives.
For merely delaying time, these little spiders are truly useful.
Moreover, it’s possible that Rose can absorb some experience from that group of moths... If she can learn even one percent of what those fluttering moths can do, the Pool of Life will witness a multitude of small lives.
"Aesces is truly a wonderful world," Hill said solemnly as he clutched his magic book.
"What did you say?" Lansendel turned his head in surprise, "What are you reminiscing about? Spiders or maggots?"
"Hill is just reminding you all of the survival tactics Rose might use," Shaer’s voice was very calm, "She’s the one who truly endured until the end in Aesces.
Hill wasn’t there in person.
Moreover, I estimate he probably wouldn’t see the ending at all."
Lansendel nodded with sudden realization: "Oh~ I get it, those resilient little spiders."
Then he glanced at Hill: "Hill, do you know how the Teraxil Elven God King is nowadays?"
"Hmm?" Hill looked at him blankly, "Why should I care about that fool? Isn’t he still alive?"
"Just alive," Lansendel said with a sly smile, "I think you might be quite pleased to hear that he’s so overcome by his obsessive cleanliness that he’s soaking himself in the clean spring water and refusing to come out.
Moreover, isn’t the Forest of the Elves terribly damaged~
Now, it’s the mixed-blood nobles born with the Moon Elves who have become the true rulers of the Forest of the Elves.
You don’t have to look at me like that, Young Master is very interested in it.
He said the stories there are enough for him to complete some sort of family sociology assignment... about invasion and integration and such...
Though I don’t understand the title, I get the meaning.
In the end, it’s the story of who integrated whom, right?"
Hill helplessly twitched the corner of his mouth, awkwardly smiling: it’s truly characteristic of the Young Master, achieving multiple goals—watching the spectacle while writing a paper.
And it’s sociology.
However, it seems that in the interstellar world, the political center is no longer the past form of confrontation.
The lessons learned by the offspring of large families are no longer focused mainly on diplomacy and economics.
Rather fitting for the trend of societal evolution.
As for what they are observing, Hill actually doesn’t care at all.
After discovering the fate of the Forest of the Elves, Hill knew it had to be an inevitable outcome... His own cleanliness obsession had to have some reason, right~
It’s worth noting, Hill used to love cleanliness, but it wasn’t as pronounced as after he arrived in this world, and his visual tolerance has decreased quite a bit.
Not Fran.
Not Fran, who’s obsessed with Alchemy Magic.
As for the patriarchal side, forget about it, haha~
That guy being able to come out of the water before he returns to Teraxil was Hill underestimating him.
Shaer glanced at Hill... Lansendel spouted nonsense that just made Hill restless.
Which Teraxil local would be willing to admit having the bloodline of that Elven God King?
That’s even more distressing than having a mother like Celene.
Otherwise, Hill wouldn’t just acknowledge his kinship with Coron... Though, tracing back the ancestry, Hill’s words aren’t wrong; he has only Elven divinity, without Elven blood.
But actually, no one can deny that intermediary.
Everyone simply considers the feelings of the unfortunate child, so they tacitly set this matter aside.
Hill probably understands this too, right?
This child seldom pretends to be ignorant knowing the truth, which makes him seem particularly lovable.
Lansendel didn’t sense the undercurrent of his friend’s emotions, he simply yawned, feeling bored, saying, "Are these gods of order somewhat useless?
If I didn’t know it’s equivalent to several AO entities attacking, I’d almost believe it’s novice pecking at grains!"
Celene ’Hmm?’ she murmured, and then slowly said, "The old man said there’s no need to worry, as long as we don’t interfere with Asmodeus’s affairs, the Pool of Life won’t act against us.
Of course, primarily me."
Lansendel was completely indifferent to Celene’s words, he just cheerfully flapped his wings: "Oh~ I forgot there’s also that old... crafty guy AO.
It seems he truly has a tacit understanding with Asmodeus!"
"The Pool of Life won’t hold out for much longer," Shaer completely disregarded the meaning of those two guys, she focused specifically on the Pool of Life.
After all, this one forever adheres to their original nature; even love doesn’t cause them to forget their primary duties, nor would they easily crumble.
