Surviving The Fourth Calamity
Chapter 2236 - 811: The Pain of the ’Old Age Striking King
Lansendel looked at his friend with his beady eyes, hesitated for a moment before saying, "As long as you’re happy."
But, what you said, only I would reluctantly go along with it.
Your World Tree wouldn’t recognize it."
Hill glanced at him displeasedly, "There are some things you don’t need to say."
Josh is truly your devout follower!
Whoever resembles whom."
"Bear family members resemble bears?" Lansendel’s reaction speed was unprecedentedly fast.
Hill flicked his sleeve with a ’pah,’ turned around, went back to his seat, and took a big gulp from his juice cup.
Humph! Just wait and see!
If he pays Lansendel any mind today, he really will learn to bear roar!
Lansendel felt a bit confused... Hill being a bear wasn’t exactly a secret, wasn’t the Undead Tribe roaring every day?
Why is Hill so angry?
Then he quietly turned around, looking at Shaer with an eyes slightly filled with daze.
The Lady of the Night couldn’t help but tilt her head, taking a few minutes to confirm that the Great Peacock was really seeking her help.
Sometimes, beings like Lansendel can truly catch people off guard.
He acts too frankly... even though Lansendel hasn’t given up his vigilance against Shaer, he’s always been on guard against her.
But this guy can suddenly be so forthright when needed, or rather, when he feels Shaer wouldn’t harbor any ill intentions.
Had it been Shaer... she really couldn’t manage to show such a pitifully cute expression to past enemies, now not even familiar entities.
But would Shaer ignore this appeal for help?
How could she?
With Lansendel setting aside his pride in earnest seeking an answer, Shaer actually feels quite pleased.
Help sought from an enemy always feels more delightful.
Even if just for a trivial matter, she’d be quite happy.
"Hill’s Earth Bear family has three adorable little bears," Shaer glanced at Hill who wore a bland expression, clutching his cup gulping ice water, and directly used telepathic Divine Arts... although not worried about Hill’s wrath, the Lady of the Night didn’t want to add fuel to the fire.
Besides, they were still sitting in Hill’s Magic Tower!
"Those three little bears, in fact, were born just some 20 years later than Hill, essentially they’re part of the same batch," Shaer said slowly, "Mentioning Hill as a little bear, he may not be outwardly pleased, but he’s actually accepted it internally.
Yet, if he’s grouped with those three... William once mentioned, those three mischief-loving little bears are comparable to the kind-aligned Max."
Hill, consistently considers himself quite steady, very mature."
Lansendel nearly rolled his eyes hearing that... that William, truly has a way with words!
Calling Max mischievous and trouble-loving?
That’s being shameless, harming others without benefit, recklessly risking his own life.
Right now, Shaer’s Shadow Realm is perfect enough that rascal can’t dig through, otherwise, let’s see if Shaer even has time every day to engage in romance!
Ha~
The entrance to the Shadow Realm still has a big black dog!
Unfortunately, Shaer guards her home with impeccable precision, otherwise, how many Deities would be willing to lend that black dog a hand, sending him into the Shadow Realm to trouble Max.
Cyric has been so busy lately, even so took time to linger by the Shadow Realm’s entrance trying to tear a gap!
Shaer should just wait!
Now, her Shadow Realm just got repaired, and the Primordial Power inside is incredibly abundant, hence no one has any means to affect anything.
But, if Max recklessly digs another gap, that black dog will surely arrive at the entrance promptly.
"So it’s a case of embarrassment turning to anger," Lansendel casually responded to Shaer... naturally via Divine Power communication.
Tsk, only the immature would feel uneasy over trivial matters!
Lansendel cracked his short beak, deciding to not provoke Hill for the time being.
He’ll wait for that surge of shame and anger to pass before mentioning anything.
-----------------
Everyone’s leisurely attitude is because, although the Undead Tribe fights fiercely, daily new people get swept into the battlefield, there are also those who flee halfway, choosing to complete tasks first.
So while there might be tens of thousands, even up to hundreds of thousands at peak, blocking gates and fighting across mountains, few fail to attend to their tasks.
Many seemingly are ever-present on the battlefield, yet still find time to complete basic tasks amidst such busy fighting... completion rate is even quite good.
Upon closer observation, it’s noticeable that this battlefield persists because, even though fighting occurs, the fighters constantly change.
Moreover, the Undead Tribe has started using the sweeping Gangfeng and Hill’s traps littering the mountains to hinder opponents.
Hill has actually noticed, as combat transitions from mutual brawling to using terrain to cause opponents harm, even previously uninvolved big families have started getting involved.
They’ve likely anticipated this world’s future direction thus began drilling their troops.
The combat style that only required attention to the arena is no longer suitable in this world.
If Gangfeng appears in this place, then in other places, there might be new, unknown weather conditions.
There might even be an earthquake in the middle of a fight.
These families, even if they’re not as sensitive in PVP as the Proud Sky Alliance, their reactions wouldn’t be too slow.
Who’s not forged through numerous battles to become the strong one standing today?
-----------------
’Old Age Striking King’ stood coldly on the main road of the refugee camp.
She was the first to take up Shaer’s support task, deceiving millions of people who are still unaware that the time-limited tasks ahead have already been snagged by the clever few, and yet she hasn’t even completed the first day’s task.
Others might have already finished the second day’s task.
The chain tasks of Shaer, which were comparable to Hill’s grand tasks, were so joyous to grab, but now she’s in a bind.
Although the task rewards haven’t revealed their later stages, the initial ones are quite eye-catching.
Otherwise, ’Old Age Striking King’ wouldn’t have gone to so much trouble, even dragging her own brother into it, just to keep those tasks hidden until the end.
Any task, the initial stages are the easiest to sabotage.
Once it reaches the later stages, unless you’re betrayed by your own, outsiders will find it hard to capture the essence.
Ha~ If anyone from the twenty people she brought could still cause problems, ’Old Age Striking King’ would absolutely accept it as fate.
And she’d have to worship the betrayer.
After so many years together, someone capable of deceiving her and ’Cunlü’ and ’Hard Wind’ must have great skill!
However, ’Old Age Striking King’ never thought that her defeat wouldn’t be due to swarming enemies, nor treacherous allies, but her own cleanliness.
In a world without Rose, she really doesn’t miss her.
It’s just a game, why make it so realistic?
Don’t even mention going into Rose’s cesspit, what else can be said about other places?
But, there, at Rose’s, it was just like a cesspit.
Moreover, if someone really thinks that stepping in dog poop is comparable to what people produce, they might as well die off first.
’Old Age Striking King’ had once worked on a construction site, personally driving an excavator through various muddy ponds.
So, she’s already indifferent to those natural phenomena.
But, that doesn’t mean she can keep her imagination in check when she sees those clumps with her own eyes.
After all, ’Old Age Striking King’ is still a girl.
Although her straightforward personality and strong will come from practicing martial arts since young, making her style rather iron-willed,
Even the most iron-willed person has things they can’t do... like stepping into those clumps.
The problem is, the houses along those winding paths are very small, with rooftops meeting together... dark and dim, with a low roofed road, making it impossible for her to use transportation.
Even her simplest flying carpet wouldn’t work.
To complete the first ring of exploration tasks, ’Old Age Striking King’ must step into that pile herself...
’Old Age Striking King’ looked down at her tablet with ’Cunlü’s prompt: "When are you going to finish this?
I’ve already done a round with Hard Wind and came back!"
"Isn’t your girl done with school?" ’Old Age Striking King’ blinked, choosing to change the subject.
"Don’t talk nonsense, there’s two more hours before she’s off!" ’Cunlü’ replied unhappily, "Can’t you hurry up?
When she gets back, I won’t have time to do the second round with you!"
’Old Age Striking King’ took a deep breath, finally gritting her teeth to ask: "Where’s your exploration zone? What’s the situation?"
She always felt ’Cunlü’ shouldn’t have been able to complete such a terrifying task so swiftly!
Then, ’Old Age Striking King’ stared at the map ’Cunlü’ sent and fell into stupor... why is this woman’s task in a place like a shopping street?
She didn’t give up and asked ’Hard Wind’ and others.
Finally, discovering... only she drew the most disgusting path.
This is the area of the refugee camp where the poorest live.
Aside from daily meals from Josh, people here might barely have clothes to cover their bodies.
Although Josh guaranteed these people’s lives, he couldn’t possibly manage their daily lives.
Not to mention, growing up in a place like Toril, it’s good enough for the strong to understand the preciousness of life.
As for whether they can bloom from suffering, it depends on individual effort and struggle.
So, the people here have very complex attributes.
They might be abandoned normal children without parents, or defeated fugitives.
This place ended up in such a dirty, cramped state likely due to deliberate actions.
