Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 2253 - 828: William’s Negligence

  • Next Chapter

The Slaran creatures are generally neutral faction, and technically, Fran, who upholds the divinity of fairness and justice, indeed shouldn’t exclude their presence.

But they’re chaotic amidst chaos.

They become deeply dissatisfied upon seeing an orderly government, and directly take action to disrupt—such thorough anarchists.

Zhu Meili will introduce these frogs to ’Ji Lanyuan’ and her group... It seems this person is indeed recognized by the Undead Tribe as even more sinister and immoral than Chief Steward Lu.

Hill can sense what he’s mocking.

Aside from being anarchists, the Slaran have a well-known flaw—the tendency to spread offspring everywhere.

Don’t be fooled by their leader, the mother of Slaran, Sendam, who self-proclaims as the guardian of spawn stones; most of the eggs thrown into the multiverse are managed by her.

But she is famously a 0 perception, 0 intelligence creature.

Even her kind dare not lightly approach her.

Of course, Sendam’s 0 intelligence doesn’t mean she has no thinking ability at all... The so-called 0 here means it’s incalculable.

In other words, this big yellow mother frog’s intelligence is constantly fluctuating.

When needed, she becomes a sentient being.

But most of the time, Sendam acts wantonly, relying on ’0’ to recklessly behave like a madman.

And she possesses an unknown talent... capable of connecting and communicating those chaotic thoughts, even she doesn’t fully grasp, with the minds of mortals from other planes, driving them insane.

In other words, she randomly imparts things even she doesn’t understand to fools, then sends those fools against the opinion leaders of stable societies.

If one is unaware of Sendam and the Slaran’s characteristics, just looking at those giant frogs; their combat capabilities are quite decent.

Error-Free Teleportation is a skill these frogs can comprehend from a young age... After all, being the essence of chaos, they can’t jump their way home.

Even if their homeland isn’t a place like the Chaos Sea that changes every second, the Slaran find it challenging to navigate by themselves.

They completely lack a sense of direction, essentially settling wherever they end up.

However, the Slaran aren’t invincible creatures; they just excel at creating chaos... And this chaos is the greatest challenge to local governments; those that can’t handle it naturally collapse right away.

But capable regimes can endure such short-term chaos without significant damage.

Ultimately, the ones truly unfortunate are always those so-called rebels seduced by the Slaran.

Regardless of whether their rebellion succeeds or fails, it invariably leads to some form of order... Then, those who believe that smashing, burning, and plundering will lead to happiness are inevitably the targets of suppression.

In the multiverse, truly wise individuals, once they hear of chaos on their side with traces of the Slaran, immediately unite to hunt down and eliminate these beings.

Of course, some ’Wise Ones’ may attempt to use these frogs to overthrow existing powerful governments, only to intervene later themselves, but their outcomes are never favorable.

After all, those willing to collaborate with Slaran are true anarchists.

Engaging with them requires feigned madness and foolishness.

Humans tend to become insane when surrounded by abnormal environments for a long time, not to mention constantly pretending to be mad?

Eventually, even those who initially had brains will lose them.

So, if it’s a villain knowledgeable about these giant frogs, upon discovering traces of them in their territory, their first instinct is to unite with current governance, including old foes, to eliminate these frogs.

One advantage of the multiverse is that all sorts of lessons have played out... It depends on whether you can recognize them and are willing to learn.

However, Sendam’s existence is quite secretive... Zhu Meili knows it surely because of that encounter in Aesces.

But this also proves that her current collaborators are knowledgeable about these ancient tales.

Moreover, not purely of the Evil Faction... Fran doesn’t judge evil too strictly; if someone is only against the Kind Alignment without engaging in cults or mass slaughter in the mortal world, he doesn’t actually prevent them from communicating with the Undead Tribe.

His intentions here are clear to Shaer, so, even after the Undead Tribe appeared in Toril, the Lady of Darkness has often intervened, but primarily targeting those involved in politics, as well as deities and the church.

Fran is completely indifferent to these... Not interfering in other countries’ internal affairs is his basic understanding.

The small frogs of Slaran, given their strong concealment, might be overlooked momentarily, yet Fran is undoubtedly aware of Zhu Meili’s collaborators.

He simply doesn’t intervene.

Just like he didn’t interfere in the friendships between the Black Rose, Edna, and the White Dragon before, nor did he stop Chief Steward Lu and Ambori sharing their tales, regardless of Zhu Meili’s cunning intentions, as long as she operates within boundaries, Fran won’t step in to stop her.

Currently, he’s quite adept at accomplishing his goals without affecting his divine role.

He won’t easily be swayed by his divinity, nor will he exhibit such excessive attention anymore.

William’s maturity, Hill could still feel it.

Therefore, he truly did not understand why the God of Time and Space did not concern himself with the issue of the Slaran.

These things, when not powerful enough, indeed wouldn’t cause any major disturbances... especially since they still exist within the companion space of the Undead Tribe, actually completely under the control of the God of Time and Space.

But this doesn’t mean they won’t cause small commotions.

Especially since those little toads’ exclusive talents of error-free teleportation and aura of fear, if connected with the pervasive, all-daring attributes of the Undead Tribe... the aura of fear from the Slaran, in some level, is truly insurmountable!

One must have both their Mental and Intellect Attribute Points reach above 15 to completely resist, and it can’t rely on external assistance.

Mages and Priests aren’t affected much, but where is there a Physical Attack Profession that increases Mental and Intellect points!

Even for a Paladin, it’s quite difficult to achieve.

There’s still a possibility for Mental Points, but Intellect Points... if he increases Intellect, then why be a Knight?

Just thinking about this point frustrated Hill.

Those toads, before absorbing enough energy and flesh to fully awaken as Slaran, are no different from ordinary toads!

That is to say, this creature also has a reproductive cycle.

Otherwise, every world the Slaran enters wouldn’t be so tormented... once it enters and really allows them to grow to their reproductive stage, the only solution is to capture all the toads in this world and uproot them.

Otherwise, who knows when a big toad might suddenly awaken as Slaran, then immediately inherit its ancestor’s will and start their anarchist revolution.

Of course, any world that allows these big toads to reach the reproductive stage... truly must have hit an extreme of foolishness.

The biggest weakness of those creatures is that it’s not so easy to absorb enough energy to awaken as an intelligent, manipulative proper Slaran.

But, if the Undead Tribe were to nurture them... just the thought made Hill shiver.

Even if ’Snow Cloud Peak’ has the means to defeat the leading Undead Tribe members to the point they leave the game completely, what about other people’s big toads?

How many would be born!

So, what did William do that the God of Time and Space would want to teach him a lesson?

Hill didn’t even need to consider it; he knew this matter belonged to the realm the God of Time and Space could still control, but William would surely be flustered and at a loss.

After all, for the Slaran to reproduce, it must stay in the companion space.

And all spaces are in the hands of the God of Time and Space... only he can timely throw these toads back into the Chaos Sea when the Slaran truly threatens the Undead Tribe, or even Teraxil.

William can’t do it, and neither can the Temporal Artifact... this backdoor can only be used by the elder.

Hill glanced at ’Snow Cloud Peak’ on the grand screen: This guy’s information is too well-informed, probably the patch William came up with, right?

"Actually, it’s not my fault." Shaer thought for a moment and then slowly spoke, "It’s just that when I was playing with William, I didn’t notice there was a Magic Tomb beside me, and said some unpleasant things."

Hill couldn’t help but press his forehead.

He suddenly understood what William had boasted about to Shaer that attracted the attention of the Magic Tomb, controlled by the Lord of Singularity.

The God of Time and Space’s Alchemy.

Unlike Fran and Hill, although equally fond of Alchemy, the God of Time and Space actually leans more towards mechanical types.

Those massive factories were always the elder’s passion.

And regarding the source of all Magic Tombs, the Beehive Consciousness that guides every action, Singularity, he was the one who understood the beauty of mechanical operations the most.

Although many times, he might not listen to others’ boasts.

But, it was Shaer and Shaer’s boyfriend!

Even though he’s never interested in the world of flesh, as the "God" of Magic Tombs and the Mechanical Realm, Singularity never stopped absorbing external information.

Even if he’s out of touch with worldly affairs, he couldn’t possibly not know who the Goddess of the Night in Toril is.

The Multiverse’s amusements, the Mechanical Realm might not participate in, but they would definitely pay attention.

After all, representing chaos, the Slaran is their eternal enemy... any world where such a thing appears, the Mechanical Realm would extend a helping hand.

Though their aid is also very troublesome, since the Magic Tombs’ energy consumption is extremely substantial.

But they are indeed the most skilled in banishing these toads.

Hmm... presumably, after communicating with a certain uninvited Lord of Singularity, the God of Time and Space recalled this wonderful knowledge.
