Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 136 Parade of Floats
10 o’clock sharp.
Lin Yun was tidying up her belongings in the shelter when she keenly heard what sounded like something coming from outside.
She quickly went to the window and looked outside.
She saw what appeared to be NPCs from an amusement park walking around nearby.
Lin Yun listened carefully again. The sounds from the amusement park seemed to have disappeared, and there were no tourists around her.
She opened her personal panel and saw that it was past ten o’clock.
Didi.
Lin Yun glanced at the bottom-left corner again. It was a message from Song Xizheng.
Song Xizheng: "Aaaaaah, Sister Lin! It’s a ghost! It’s a ghost!"
Song Xizheng was terrified to death.
He had originally planned to have a late-night snack, wash up, and then go to bed. Anyway, he would be safe inside the shelter until 10 p.m., so he hadn’t bothered to care about what might happen outside.
Result!
He glanced outside once and noticed that staff members had boarded his float, and the float was driven away!
He was instantly terrified, fearing that he would be discovered by the local inhabitants.
He stood by the window, staring intently outside, and then witnessed a horrifying scene.
The float moved slowly forward, but as it traveled, Song Xizheng did not hear the voices of any tourists around him.
Shouldn’t a parade of floats be something that attracted a lot of tourists?
The strange silence made him even more uneasy.
He then carefully looked through the window at both sides of the float.
He saw that there were indeed some tourists standing on both sides of the float, but the expressions on their faces were extremely strange.
They were all staring intently at the float, their eyes fixed on it without moving.
Then Song Xizheng noticed their feet, which seemed a bit off.
Song Xizheng was a little scared, but he still forced himself to observe carefully.
He soon discovered that the tourists’ feet were actually dangling in the air.
Only then did he realize that these people’s faces looked extremely pale.
The farther the float traveled, the more tourists he saw.
Yet the amusement park remained eerily quiet.
Throughout the entire amusement park, it seemed that the only sound that could be heard was the sound of the float moving slowly along the ground.
Song Xizheng didn’t understand what was going on.
The more he looked, the more uncomfortable he felt.
After sending Lin Yun a few more messages, he suppressed his fear and continued staring outside.
It was impossible not to be afraid.
Those tourists outside looked a bit like ghosts. Tell me, which Chinese person wouldn’t be afraid if they suddenly saw something that looked like a ghost right in front of them?
Song Xizheng: "Sister Lin! What should I do! My shelter has been taken away, and it’s so quiet outside!"
Song Xizheng: "Those tourists made way for the float, and now they’re staring at the float like ghosts on both sides."
Song Xizheng: "Their faces were deathly pale, and their feet were still dangling in the air."
Song Xizheng: "There are more and more tourists, but there’s not a sound! Help, is this the charm of Chinese horror? I’m getting chills."
Song Xizheng: "Image.jpg."
Lin Yun looked at the pictures Song Xizheng had sent and fell silent. There was definitely something wrong with these tourists.
She looked up and looked outside again. Several NPCs dressed in special amusement park costumes were strolling around nearby.
And their feet were dangling in the air.
Is this some kind of ghost amusement park?
Lin Yun pursed her lips again. This amusement park...
Beep beep beep.
Song Xizheng sent another message, along with many pictures, each showing the surrounding tourists and the floats in front of and behind him.
He then sent another text message.
Song Xizheng: "Help! Help! I saw two people in black vests get off the float in front of me, and they carried someone off."
Song Xizheng: "Hey? Doesn’t that person look like the one we saw with Song Zhenzhen and the others this evening?"
Song Xizheng: "Damn, those tourists are talking!"
He didn’t send any more messages after that point.
After more than ten minutes, Song Xizheng finally sent his message again.
Song Xizheng: "...Sister Lin, they seem to have a real appetite for us..."
With just this one sentence, Lin Yun knew what he meant.
After the people in black vests carried the survivor off the float, the surrounding tourists came forward to enjoy their food.
When the first few tourists went up to tear at the survivor, Song Xizheng’s eyes widened, and he quickly turned his head away, not daring to look again.
But then the survivor’s screams came over.
He could only quickly turn off the external viewing system and dared not listen anymore.
The survivor was unconscious when he was carried off the float. He only regained consciousness and screamed in pain when he was being torn apart.
Song Xizheng groaned twice, the two scenes he had just witnessed still lingering in his mind.
After about ten minutes, he recovered and turned on the external vision system, wanting to hear the sounds outside.
But the screams outside continued.
This time the voice seemed a little off; it wasn’t the man’s voice from before, but... a woman’s voice.
Song Xizheng’s eyes widened slightly. Besides the male survivor, they had captured quite a few other survivors!
He reopened the window, mentally prepared himself, and then looked up.
The tourists who had been surrounding the male survivor and eating had dispersed, and they stood around, savoring the delicious food they had just enjoyed.
And on the ground... only a skeleton remained.
Under the moonlight and the lights from the floats, there seemed to be no bloodstains on the ground.
Song Xizheng thought in horror, those tourists... they wouldn’t have left the bloodstains on...?
A piercing scream came from behind.
He quickly ran to the back window, and indeed the sound was coming from the float behind him.
He saw that the ground was soaked with blood.
The tourists who had taken a few bites quickly retreated, making room for others.
He steeled himself and looked at the tourist whose mouth still had blood on it, only to suddenly realize that the tourist’s foot, which had been dangling in the air, was now firmly planted on the ground.
Song Xizheng suddenly understood something.
The survivors were meant to be eaten by the tourists!
He dared not look at the scene outside the window anymore, so he quickly closed the window and typed furiously, sending another message to Lin Yun.
His trembling hands revealed just how unsettled he was.
Although he had experienced several worlds, this was truly the first time he had ever seen such a scene of cannibalism!
Beep beep beep...
Song Xizheng’s messages kept coming in, and Lin Yun’s personal panel kept buzzing.
Lin Yun read through each item one by one, and her expression gradually turned grim.
No wonder the rules say that you must be back at the shelter before 10 o’clock.
If we don’t go back, won’t those tourists just treat us like food?
Lin Yun’s thoughts moved quickly as she recalled everything they had encountered since entering the amusement park. The rules had always emphasized the importance of returning to the shelter before ten, but she had not expected the reason behind it to be this terrifying.
The scene Song Xizheng described was enough to make anyone understand the danger. Once the time limit passed, the amusement park was no longer the same place they had seen during the day.
What bothered Lin Yun most was that the tourists had not simply attacked the survivors themselves. They had waited for the people in black vests to carry them down from the floats, and only then had they surrounded them.
That meant the black-vested people were probably not ordinary tourists.
Lin Yun stared at Song Xizheng’s messages again, trying to connect the details together.
The floats, silent tourists, floating feet, blood, and captured survivors all seemed connected.
But she still didn’t understand why.
During the day, everything had seemed almost normal, despite the amusement park’s strange atmosphere. At night, however, the entire place had revealed another side.
And if the survivors were truly being treated as food, then staying inside the shelter before ten was clearly not merely a suggestion.
It was a way to survive.
The more she thought about it, the more questions appeared in her mind, leaving her uneasy.
The strange parade outside only made the unanswered questions feel even more dangerous and impossible to ignore.0
But... what’s with that little black vest?
She and Song Xizheng spent the afternoon at the amusement park but didn’t see any trace of the person in the black vest.
And what about the survivors who were captured? How were they captured by the black-vested officers?
How did they know the difference between them?
