Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches

Chapter 196: The Shelter Location Has Been Destroyed

  • Next Chapter

Inside the amusement park.

Vivian had already directed the tourists to go out and demolish a great many of the park’s rides and attractions, one by one.

Many surviving survivors suddenly heard a system message echo inside their minds, announcing their shelter location had been destroyed.

They cursed furiously in their anger, but there was genuinely nothing whatsoever they could do about any of it.

Between the sheer number of tourists and the tricolor-vested staff, how many survivors could there possibly be left? They simply couldn’t hope to fight them all off.

All they could manage was to flee with their arms thrown protectively over their heads, scattering in every direction.

They’d need to find an entirely new location for their shelter somewhere before ten o’clock that very same night.

Linglan lay sprawled across the ground, her body a bloody, battered mess.

"Linglan, I warned you — don’t go against me."

Why wouldn’t she just listen? This entire amusement park belonged to her!

Vivian stood with her back turned toward Linglan, speaking in a light, almost casual tone, utterly disregarding everything Linglan had done over the past several days.

Linglan simply refused to accept defeat.

She’d finally managed to find a way to drive the tourists mad from outside the amusement park itself, so why had it failed in the end? How had Vivian managed to resolve it all so effortlessly?

Linglan couldn’t understand it at all.

But she had no other options left to her now.

Thankfully, thankfully, it seemed only those particular people remained out there in the public eye.

Tong Yin had already gotten Rose safely hidden away, and Rose had also been arranged to stay at the castle that very day.

They could still go on living perfectly decent lives, at the very least, for now.

"If I simply raze the entire amusement park to the ground, those outsiders will have absolutely nowhere left to hide."

"Once I catch these outsiders, I’ll finally be able to turn my family back to normal. That would be wonderful."

"These are the only ones I need! The only ones I need! No one can stop me now!"

Vivian clutched the rabbit doll tightly, her eyes swirling with turbulent emotions that nearly made her lose control entirely.

After all these long, difficult years, Vivian was no longer the same naive little girl she’d once been, long ago.

In her eyes, only her family truly mattered, and all she wanted was for them to go back to being the way she remembered them.

She felt it was painful for her family members to have turned into black monsters, yet her family had always cared enough about her never to let it show, afraid of worrying her unnecessarily.

So she remained absolutely determined to turn her family back to normal, no matter the cost.

She’d felt so terribly, achingly lonely this entire time, with no one left to truly understand her.

She missed her mother dearly, her mother’s warm embrace, the housekeeper’s gentle smile, and the little cakes the cook used to bake for her.

At that very moment, Wenxi came rushing in, clearly panicked.

"Master! Something terrible has happened! Lord Nalan has gone missing!"

Vivian suddenly looked up, her icy gaze locking directly onto Wenxi.

Wenxi flinched under that gaze, feeling as though she’d been thoroughly seen through at once.

She swallowed hard and stammered out, "Lord Nalan came to the puppet theater earlier, and she told me to guard the entrance and not let anyone else inside."

"I listened to her and stayed right at the entrance the whole time. No one went out, and no one came in either."

"After that, it seemed Lord Nalan got into some kind of fight with someone. Whoever it was ran off, and Lord Nalan told me to take the puppet and chase after them, so that’s what we did."

"But that person was simply too clever. It’s my fault entirely — I was too foolish and failed to catch her. By the time I made it back to the puppet theater, Lord Nalan was already gone."

"I assumed Lord Nalan had simply left ahead of me, but when I caught up with the others later, they all said they hadn’t seen Lord Nalan at all..."

After Wenxi finished speaking, she stood off to the side with her head bowed, not daring to meet Vivian’s eyes, terrified Vivian might lash out and strike her.

Vivian fell completely silent after hearing all this.

She then reached into her pocket, pulled something small out, and glanced down at it carefully.

Vivian: !

"How many puppets do we still have left? Send every single one of them out to join the tourists and smash this entire amusement park apart! The whole place needs to be destroyed by five o’clock!"

Nalan was dead.

How could Nalan possibly be dead?

The amusement park had already been largely reduced to rubble by this point.

"Holy crap... I’ve just been kicked out of my shelter! Vivian really has completely lost her mind."

Song Zhenzhen had just received the system notification herself.

Fortunately enough, she happened to be inside the castle at that particular moment.

She couldn’t even begin to imagine what would’ve happened had she actually been inside her own shelter at the time. Wouldn’t she have been caught completely red-handed the instant she got kicked out?

Then, Xiong Qi’s and George’s expressions both shifted into something distinctly strange as well.

Song Xizheng noticed their reactions and asked cautiously, "You two as well...?"

George let out a helpless sigh. "Yeah, my shelter’s gone too. I’ll need to find somewhere new to bind myself to."

"Same here!"

They’d just witnessed what was happening down in the open-air garden below, tracking the housekeeper’s movements the whole time.

Yet they remained entirely powerless to help the black monster return to its original state.

The housekeeper didn’t particularly mind, though. Vivian herself had been trying for so long now without finding a real solution — how could a few mere outsiders be expected to manage any better?

He simply felt a certain degree of genuine pity for these particular outsiders, caught up in something not their own.

The butler had already guessed at the outsiders’ true purpose here; they were only trying to complete some task of their own, posing no real threat whatsoever to the amusement park, the castle, or anyone living within it.

And yet, it was precisely because of the people living here that Vivian had chosen to target them in the first place.

Even though the outsiders had done nothing wrong at all, they were being forced to either die here or remain trapped here indefinitely.

For a moment, the housekeeper felt a wave of genuine sadness wash over him.

He, too, hoped that all of this would come to an end soon, and he had no wish to see Vivian or anyone else in this amusement park carry so much blood on their hands.

Before long, a great many more tourists came pouring into the castle.

They too had come searching for humans; the unmistakable scent of Song Xizheng and his group clung strongly to the floor around them.

Upon hearing the commotion approaching, the group quickly began preparing themselves.

Song Zhenzhen glanced at the black monsters, who were also readying themselves, and said, "You all should step back for now. If they knock you down again, there really won’t be many of you left standing."

The black monsters were momentarily stunned, exchanging bewildered glances with one another.

But they still obediently retreated a short distance regardless.

Once the tourists made their way up, another fierce fight broke out in the corridor.

Up in the room on the top floor.

[WARNING! The shelter location is currently being vandalized! Please return to the shelter immediately to protect it from further destruction!]

"Little Vine! Someone’s sabotaging the shelter right now. Control the main vine, but don’t attack them under any circumstances! No one must discover the existence of your main vine, no matter what!"

The moment the system’s voice echoed through her mind, Lin Yun quickly called out to Ghost Vine twice in rapid succession.

Her shelter was tied to Ghost Vine’s main vine, which could turn somewhat aggressive on its own. If Vivian ever discovered the Ghost Vine’s true existence, there was no telling what she might end up doing.

Letting Vivian simply raze the shelter to the ground was, honestly, still the safer option by far.

Ghost Vine had been just about to remotely direct its main vine into attacking, but upon hearing Lin Yun’s words, it stopped itself at once.

Never mind, then — though it didn’t quite understand why it couldn’t fight back, it obediently held itself in check.

Understood.

[WARNING! WARNING! The shelter location is about to be destroyed!]

[The shelter location has been destroyed! Survivors, please find a suitable location and relocate your shelter before ten o’clock tonight!]

Lin Yun clicked her tongue in frustration. Vivian really was moving fast — she’d already torn down the mushroom house back in the parent-child interaction area in no time at all.

Poor Song Xizheng — the shelter he’d only just bound himself to was already gone once more.
