It was a pity, though. She had slept until now. If she had known that something so interesting would happen this morning, she would have gotten up and gone to Monster City to watch the drama unfold.

After thinking it over, Lin Yun decided not to give up. Anyway, the shop Kong Ling had lent her was quite large, so it would not hurt to spend the night there.

Lin Yun did another somersault, quickly tidied herself up, scooped up three small fish, said goodbye to Ivy and the Ghost Vine, and left the shelter. As for Rose... forget it. She was asleep.

After eating something, they ran to Monster City.

As soon as Lin Yun arrived at the city gate, she saw that the place, which had originally been guarded only by elves, now had many more giant rats. Unable to catch anyone, had they switched to checking the city gates? Lin Yun was also quite curious about who those people were who had burned down the giant rat tribe’s clan hall.

She held the two little ones in her arms and joined the back of the line. Although she had a small tag that allowed her to enter and leave Monster City freely, she still had to queue up for inspection because of the giant rats. While waiting in line, she did not forget to keep an eye on what was happening up front.

Many races dissatisfied with the giant rats were cursing and complaining, feeling that the giant rats were making a mountain out of a molehill and were incompetent. A day or two had passed since the incident, and they were still searching. They had no skills whatsoever, not even as much as the elves. In the opinion of these people, it would be better to seek the authorities’ help.

But when the giant rats heard that, their anger flared. They could not ask for help, and now it was even less likely.

"Shut your mouths! You think you’re the only ones with mouths? If you keep spouting nonsense, none of you will be allowed into the city!"

One of the giant rats could not contain his temper and raised his head to roar twice at the crowd. The crowd fell silent for a moment, then the noise grew even louder. So what if the giant rat tribe was a major race in Monster City? When these smaller races united, they were not without a fighting chance. Besides, the giant rats were not the lords of Monster City. The ones in charge now were the elves. What were the giant rats anyway?

This suddenly triggered a rebellious streak in the people in line. Some even felt that they had been a bit stupid for having previously considered supporting the giant rat tribe’s election as city lord. If the giant rats already dared to yell at them now, what would happen when they became city lords? Would they even lose their right to speak?

"You son of a bitch..."

The first giant rat to speak rolled up his sleeves, ready to teach these people a lesson, but another giant rat stopped him.

"Shu Li! What are you doing? Are you trying to get yourself killed?! Are you afraid there aren’t enough people hating the giant rat tribe?!"

Shu Jiu glared at Shu Li, thinking that this fellow rat was an idiot. It was already bad enough to be investigating this matter at the city gate, and he was causing trouble here. Was he afraid that their giant rat tribe was living too well? To control these residents, they would have to wait until the chief became city lord!

Shu Li realized what was happening and felt somewhat annoyed. He had only been angry because what these people said was so offensive, that was why...

Shu Jiu glared at him again before turning around and smiling apologetically. "I’m sorry, everyone. I’ve been so busy these past few days that this kid is exhausted, so he didn’t think before he spoke. Please don’t take it to heart."

"Tch, they make it sound so nice, but who knows if it’s really true?"

"Exactly. Don’t treat us like idiots, okay?"

"Why all the talk? Instead of wasting time on this nonsense, why don’t you just let us into the city already? I have something to discuss with my friend!"

The residents complained with dissatisfaction. Sweat beaded on Shu Jiu’s forehead as he mentally cursed Shu Li over and over. "All right, all right. Let’s hurry, let’s hurry."

The elf guards stood to the side with their arms crossed, watching the giant rats’ actions with cold eyes. The city lord had instructed that as long as the giant rats did not ask for help, they should pretend not to see anything and not go to help. Since the giant rat tribe wanted to check people coming in and out, let them check. They could also collect city fees for them while they were at it. The elf guards were happy to have some free time.

The rats dared not utter a sound and could only obediently lower their heads and continue their investigation.

Lin Yun had the small shop tag hanging on her body. After the giant rats saw it, they let her pass. This kind of tag could only be obtained by registering at the official housing office. If it was lost, the shop owner would report it to the office as soon as possible. Therefore, the giant rat tribe was not worried that anyone would use it to impersonate someone else.

After entering Monster City, Lin Yun glanced at the area where the investigation was still ongoing. She felt that it was pointless. Those people had probably already fled overnight, so this investigation probably would not yield any results.

Upon arriving at the shop, Lin Yun arranged the vegetables and fruits on the shelves, though not in large quantities. She planned to close the shop once she sold out. The main strategy was to create scarcity.

After Lin Yun opened the door, curious customers soon came in.

"What do you sell in your shop?"

The newcomer was a member of the Roe Deer race, and she was very curious about new things. She had noticed a new shop open while strolling down the street, so she had to come in and see what was going on.

"The vegetables and fruits I sell are of very good quality. You can take a look."

Lin Yun pointed to the shelf next to her, telling her to go and look for herself.

Bubble leaned closer and smelled the aroma wafting from the food. Her eyes lit up. The food smelled amazing!

"How many gold coins is this?" Bubble pointed to the biggest peach on the shelf.

Lin Yun looked over and saw that it was a peach she had picked from the mutated plant. "10 gold coins each."

"How many do you have? I’ll take them all!"

Lin Yun: "?"

"You can only get 10 peaches a day, and each peach is worth 10 gold coins. Are you sure?"

Bubble nodded quickly. "I’ve never eaten such big peaches before. I’ll take them all! Save all the peaches for me tomorrow too. I’ll come pick them up at this time!"

"Okay! 100 gold coins!"

Bubble quickly counted out 100 gold coins and handed them to Lin Yun. Lin Yun clicked her tongue twice and went to get the peaches, but she was curious about how this person was going to take away ten big peaches.

Then Bubble took out a transparent bag and stuffed peaches into it until all ten were inside.

Lin Yun: "?"

"Wait!"

Bubble looked over in confusion. "What’s wrong, boss?"

"What is this? You’ve packed so many peaches in there?"

"Oh, this is a dragon bag woven by the merfolk. It can hold a lot of things. You can discuss the specific requirements with the merfolk."

Lin Yun was shocked, never expecting that such a thing existed in this world! What should she do? She kind of wanted one. Each of the little ones in her household would have its own space for its own things.

"Where can I buy one? I’d like to buy a few too..."

Bubble chuckled twice. "You’ll have to find the mermaids for that, but they don’t come ashore much. They live in the sea."

Oh dear, it was hopeless.
