"Okay! That’s exactly what I had in mind. We’re on the same wavelength!" Meng Qingmei came with the very intention of suggesting getting married soon.

Just to avoid dreams turning into long nights!

Ji Chuan and Yan Huan’s relationship had reached its peak; it was indeed time to get married.

"So, in-laws, what day do you think is good?" Feng Yuzhi asked Meng Qingmei for her opinion.

"How about around National Day?" Ji Shuanglin chimed in, "It’s a quite festive date. Ji Chuan’s leg is recovering well, there’s time in between to arrange wedding details, and we don’t have to wait too long."

"I think this date is good. Let’s settle on it!" Yan Luquan thought Ji Shuanglin had a good suggestion and agreed wholeheartedly.

With a few words from each of the men, the date was nailed down.

"Is it decided just like that?" Feng Yuzhi felt it was a bit too hasty; at least there should be some discussion and detail analysis.

"Of course! What else do you want?" Yan Luquan retorted. His view on the wedding was that it should be quick and simple, he disliked those that took half a year to prepare and dragged on.

He was a soldier, swift and decisive, and preferred to get things done quickly.

The crucial thing isn’t the wedding, but the life of the two young people afterwards—is it happy and fulfilling.

This is what truly matters.

"If the in-laws have no opinion, neither do I!" Feng Yuzhi looked at Meng Qingmei and said.

"No opinions, no opinions! Once these two people are married, we can all feel settled."

"Since that’s the case, then it’s decided! Let’s choose October 1st for the wedding, celebrating along with the nation!" Yan Luquan made the final decision.

With the wedding date set, the parents of both families began to get busy. Ji Chuan’s parents mainly focused on repainting Ji Chuan’s new house, buying furniture, and finding a restaurant to book a banquet.

The Yan Family was much more relaxed, with preparations mainly revolving around Yan Huan’s dowry.

As for Yan Huan herself, she went out shopping to prepare for being a bride. The wedding happens only once in a lifetime, and she wanted to look her absolute best on that day to face everyone, especially Ji Chuan whom she loves.

Shopping for things, after pondering for a bit, the most suitable person to accompany her was An Hao.

An Hao’s taste has always been good, and she’s especially patient. Inviting her along seemed the right choice.

Over the weekend, Yan Huan invited An Hao to go to the mall together, planning to buy several new outfits to wear after their wedding.

An Hao accompanied Yan Huan shopping from morning until afternoon, helping her get quite a few pieces. Yan Huan had absolute trust in An Hao’s taste.

As the mall was about to close, An Hao stopped at a children’s clothing store entrance, eyeing two sets of clothes that she wanted to buy for the child.

"Oh, An Hao, how’s my godson doing lately? I’ve been so busy with Ji Chuan’s matters these days, I nearly forgot about my godson."

"Which godson are you referring to?" An Hao asked casually while picking out clothes.

"Chenyang."

"Oh him? He’s gone to the headquarters with Qin Jian; it has been some time since he called me. I’m not sure what Qin Jian is up to?" An Hao said as she handed over the chosen clothes to the shop assistant for payment.

"It’s already September; the little guy should be starting elementary school, right?" Yan Huan was still concerned about Ning Chenyang starting school, "I want to give my godson a back-to-school gift."

"No! Don’t spoil him with bad habits. I heard from Qin Jian that the kid’s bold and has ideas, always causing trouble! He must be well-educated."
