Lu Jinyan furrowed his brows and looked down at the pair of arms wrapped around his waist.

After a pause, he said, "Don’t worry, I’m not leaving. I’m just going out for a moment to get you a cup of hot water, and maybe grab some breakfast on the way back."

Ning Wan shook her head and said, "I’m not hungry, I just want you to stay with me, don’t leave, okay?"

She was terrified that once Lu Jinyan left, he wouldn’t come back.

Lu Jinyan sighed softly, gently pried open her grasp, and sat down helplessly: "Alright, I won’t leave, I’ll stay here with you."

"That’s great!" Ning Wan was overjoyed and blurted out, "I knew it, you still care about me."

"..."

Lu Jinyan looked at Ning Wan, pursed his lips, and remained silent.

Thinking back to the scene of the accident was still nerve-racking.

Ning Wan was very fortunate; it’s said that the lighting fixture weighed over 30 kilograms and fell from the ceiling. Had it deviated by just 10 centimeters, it would have hit Ning Wan’s head.

If that had happened, she certainly wouldn’t have survived.

Seeing that Lu Jinyan was indeed not leaving, Ning Wan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Yet, even so, her eyes remained fixed on Lu Jinyan’s face, afraid that he might suddenly change his mind and leave.

Lu Jinyan asked, "Is it still hurting?"

"No, it doesn’t hurt."

"Really?"

"Of course, it’s true. You don’t believe me? Look."

Ning Wan smiled at Lu Jinyan, but her smile didn’t last long before fading due to the pain in her ankle.

A fracture is very painful; even with anesthesia, it remains quite severe. Any slight movement pulls at the ankle.

Though the injury wasn’t on Lu Jinyan, seeing Ning Wan endure like this made him break out in a cold sweat.

"Do you want to lie down? Be careful, I’ll support you."

Ning Wan awkwardly adjusted her sitting posture, took a slight breath, and asked, "Jinyan, do you think I’ll become disabled?"

Lu Jinyan shook his head and said, "No, the doctor said your ankle fracture was complex, but the surgery was very successful. As long as you actively cooperate with the doctors, follow recovery instructions, and do rehabilitation exercises, you’ll be walking normally again. Assuming no accidents happen, it shouldn’t take more than six months."

In reality, six months can feel neither long nor short.

After pausing for a moment, Lu Jinyan furrowed his brows again and said, "But this delay might mean your tour will be postponed."

Upon hearing this, Ning Wan felt secretly relieved.

Though the tour was delayed, the accident resulted in her injury, and Lu Jinyan stayed by her side, which felt like a stroke of luck for her.

Look at him now, how gentle he is with her.

Ning Wan felt a surge of happiness...

She shook her head and said, "I don’t mind, let’s just treat it as a long vacation."

"True, but—"

Lu Jinyan’s words trailed off, with a hint of hesitation.

"But what?"

After some thought, he continued:

"Your agent, Ms. Zhang, is very angry about your injury. Last night she went to my uncle’s company, demanding he find the person responsible by today. I’m worried..."

Thinking of this, Lu Jinyan’s expression darkened, his demeanor unusually stern.

He had heard some rumors, with his mother Yan Xue saying that the Mainland Group has too many urgent matters to handle, and the situation is far from optimistic.

Ning Wan, hearing this, was also taken aback: "Ms. Zhang went to see your uncle? I’ll call her right away."
