Song Anqi died a horrible death.

By the time the people sent by Shen Kang found Song Anqi, it was already evening. She was stark naked, and there was not a single unscathed piece of flesh on her body.

There were marks of strangulation on her neck, and a large piece of skin had been scraped off her back by some hard object, with blood covering her back that had already dried.

Judging from the scene, she seemed to have been pressed against that big rock by the cliff and tortured for a long time...

Song Yinyin heard about Song Anqi’s death, and it left her unsettled for a long time.

"Who could it be? Who is this perverted?" she asked Lu Jihan, looking at him.

Lu Jihan frowned and said, "We don’t know yet, but the police have been alerted. They say they found... a man’s semen in her body, which should help them track down the killer..."

With Lu Jihan’s assurance, Song Yinyin felt somewhat relieved.

But soon, another thought occurred to her, and she asked worriedly; "What about the sanatorium? How is Song Huaizhong?"

"Because I had Shen Kang add more personnel to guard the sanatorium, he’s relatively alright for now. The same goes for Jiang Lan, so don’t worry, even Yan Zhengxiong wouldn’t dare to blatantly kill anyone."

Lu Jihan said this as he pulled her into his arms, gently patting her back.

"Don’t worry, I will make sure she is buried properly."

"Mm."

Song Yinyin responded, yet still felt distressed.

Especially her throat, it felt as if something was stuck there, unable to go up or down, leaving her choked.

"I had always been on bad terms with Song Anqi, we were always opposing each other at every turn. When I found out Chi Wen was actually Song Anqi, I actually felt a small sense of relief, that she was still alive..."

"I thought, if she could turn over a new leaf, perhaps I would try to forget the things she did to us. I thought, as long as she said sorry to me, I would be willing to try, but..."

I didn’t expect Song Anqi would descend so deeply into madness and fall into the abyss, unable to return.

Words stuck in her throat, a great sadness swept over her so much she could barely continue speaking.

Her eyes were red, and she tried her best to suppress the sorrow and anger in her heart, but she couldn’t control herself, and tears were on the verge of falling.

After some time, she finally managed to slightly calm herself, and said:

"I didn’t even get that chance before she was gone. In a way, I should thank the heavens, as they say, evil is rewarded with evil, good with good. We had given her numerous chances to turn back, yet she refused them. It was her choice..."

Upon saying this, Song Yinyin could no longer hold back, and tears streamed down heavily.

"This should have been something to rejoice over, but... but when I heard she died in such a manner... I, Jinhan, I just can’t accept it, really, I can’t..."

She couldn’t imagine what kind of torment Song Anqi had endured before her death.

Lu Jihan continued to hold Song Yinyin’s delicate body, guarding her carefully in his embrace, letting her sob into his shoulder, her tears and snot soaking through.

It was not until Song Yinyin had cried herself out that Lu Jihan held her as they moved to sit on the sofa.

"You really shouldn’t think too much, I can only say... everything is destined. If she hadn’t run, perhaps I could have protected her, but she would rather die than cooperate with me..."

At this point, Lu Jihan sighed, equally powerless.

"Alright, stop crying. If you keep crying like this, it’s really bad for the baby in your belly."

With his reminder, Song Yinyin gradually calmed down.
