After Song Yinyin got up and finished washing in the morning, she went downstairs and saw that Song Dabai was already up and eating breakfast at the dining table.

The little guy looked listless, like he didn’t have much of an appetite.

A durian-flavored pizza and a big bowl of milk were set in front of him, and he hadn’t touched any of it.

Song Yinyin walked over, rubbed his head, and said, "Why aren’t you eating breakfast? Is something making you feel unwell?"

"Mommy, I don’t want to drink it."

Song Yinyin froze. "Why? Isn’t milk and durian-flavored pizza your favorite?"

Song Dabai pouted and complained, "Don’t even mention it. These past few days at school, that noisy sparrow keeps bringing me a box of milk every single day. I’m sick of drinking it. Now I feel awful whenever I see milk."

Sparrow?

Song Yinyin frowned, then suddenly understood. "You mean Little Magpie, right? I already told you, Little Magpie is Doctor Ji’s daughter and also your Uncle Ji’s niece. Our families are good friends, you can’t be rude to her like that."

"But she’s really so noisy. She makes me drink the same flavor of milk every day. Anyone would get sick of it."

The little guy puckered his lips, speaking in a tone full of disgust.

"She likes you and wants to get close to you. And what do you do? You嫌弃 her kindness. You really have no conscience at all. Is this what Mommy taught you?"

Song Yinyin pretended to be angry, pinched one of Song Dabai’s ears, and lectured him.

"I—I have plenty of conscience, okay!"

Song Dabai was displeased and protested with his little mouth all puffed up:

"Her math is bad, so I explain problems to her. She can’t memorize classical poems, so I copy them into her notebook and make her recite poems every day. Doesn’t that count as having a conscience?!"

Hearing this, Song Yinyin was actually quite surprised.

She hadn’t expected her son to have grown so much over these past few months.

She sat down beside him with a smile, rubbed his fringe, and said:

"If you don’t like drinking milk every day, you can just tell Little Magpie directly. But you absolutely can’t call her noisy, and you definitely can’t give her a nickname like Sparrow. That’s very impolite. You’re a boy, you should have gentlemanly manners, got it?"

"Oh." Song Dabai curled his lips and stopped talking.

Looking at his little expression, Song Yinyin felt both helpless and amused.

Song Dabai and Little Magpie really were a pair of bickering little frenemies.

Little Magpie is clearly very cute, but for some reason, Song Dabai dislikes her in all sorts of ways.

Yet Little Magpie is full of cockroach-level perseverance, relentlessly chasing after Song Dabai, and about that, Song Yinyin also felt helpless.

Mother and son were still chatting when Lu Jihan came hurrying down from upstairs with a jacket slung over one arm.

He walked with brisk steps, not toward the dining room but straight for the door.

Seeing this, Song Yinyin quickly called out, "Jinhan, aren’t you having breakfast?"

"Mm, I’ll skip it. Shen Kang just called and said they’ve already caught that mole."

"Really?" Song Yinyin blinked. "Can I go with you?"

Lu Jihan paused mid-step, thought for a moment, then said, "Forget it, better if you don’t. I don’t want you getting dragged into company matters. Wait for my update—I’ll call you later."

"Okay."

Song Yinyin nodded and watched Lu Jihan get into the car.

.........

Half an hour later, at Mainland Building.

Lu Jihan got out of the car, and Shen Kang was already waiting for him at the entrance.

He strode in with strong, steady steps and asked, "How did you manage to catch that mole?"
