Swordsmanship Coach: Kill with One Slash
Chapter 442 - 266: The Kill (2)
Chapter 442: Chapter 266: The Kill (2)
A blade of shadow shot out in an instant. The space it passed through didn’t ripple in the slightest, as if it were nothing more than a gentle breeze. Yet, Chi Yu found himself completely unable to move. He tried to dodge the sword, which seemed neither fast nor powerful, but his body felt as heavy as a rigid puppet.
And then...
The sword instantly pierced through Chi Yu’s body.
In the final moment before being impaled, Chi Yu raised his right hand, transforming Xiaoyou into a giant shield. Nevertheless, the sword instantly pierced through it, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.
Just then, as if experiencing network lag, the space the sword’s shadow had passed through only now began to slowly crack apart with a KAKA sound, revealing the pitch-black void within.
The attack was so powerful it left even Su Xing momentarily stunned. He had never witnessed such a terrifying sword strike. Li Ye’s blow was truly horrifying.
Li Ye wasn’t particularly strong compared to Chi Yu, but thanks to Ling Zhongxing’s meticulous preparations, he had first obtained the origin substance bestowed by the Cyan Cloud Sword Immortal, and then, through a series of arrangements, gained control of the Cyan Cloud Sword Array. Only by doing all this could he unleash such a terrifying attack.
’Thinking about it, Li Ye is terrifying, but the even more terrifying person is Ling Zhongxing, who’s currently sitting back and silently watching the fight. Su Xing was now certain that even if he hadn’t come to Luocheng, Chi Yu would have died anyway.
’My arrival just made it easier for Ling Zhongxing to lure Chi Yu out, and it gave him even greater assurance of victory.’
’Putting Ling Zhongxing’s scheme aside, just based on the power of that one attack, Li Ye in his current state is probably even stronger than I was after breaking three of my swords.’
’It’s just a guess, but I feel like I’m not far off. However, greater damage output doesn’t necessarily mean Li Ye is stronger than me overall. If the two of us were to actually fight, the outcome could be completely different.’
"..."
"PUH!"
Chi Yu’s face paled as he abruptly spat out a mouthful of blood. He collapsed to his knees, enveloped in a thick, yellow cloud of sand and dust.
He stared at the sword impaling his right hand. It was one of seventy-two swords from the Sword Array, and there were still seventy-one more just like it.
It was terrifying. Horrifying.
’Before, when Li Ye’s strength hadn’t reached this level, I didn’t feel this way. But the Li Ye of today is completely different. Every single one of his swords has the power to take my life. He’s an even greater threat than Su Xing!’
’I have to survive!’
’How can I possibly die here?!’
As if trying to reassure himself, the words began to build in his mind, growing louder and louder like a primal scream from his very core. Then, he shot out from the cloud of dust. Chi Yu knew with perfect clarity: he had to kill Li Ye.
’Li Ye isn’t Su Xing. Even with such immense power, a Qi Cultivator’s physical body, while tougher than a Sequencer’s, is still incredibly fragile.’
’As long as...’
’As long as I can kill him!’
Li Ye watched as Chi Yu suddenly burst from the dust cloud, but he wasn’t particularly surprised. He had replayed the plan to kill Chi Yu in his mind countless times, and in none of those scenarios had he imagined killing him with a single sword strike.
Therefore, Li Ye subconsciously deployed two more swords. He positioned one in front of him for defense while sending the other shooting toward the charging Chi Yu.
Chi Yu was also a seasoned fighter. Watching the sword fly toward him, and having already clashed with its power once, he knew he couldn’t block it. Thus, he moved to dodge in advance.
However, as the sword flew, that same feeling of sluggishness and rigidity descended upon Chi Yu once more. It wasn’t because Li Ye possessed some strange power—it was simply that the sword was moving so incredibly fast that, in comparison, Chi Yu felt like a puppet.
However, Chi Yu had dodged in advance.
Though he wasn’t hit directly like before, the sword still grazed his waist as it shot past, and blood instantly began to gush from the wound. But Chi Yu paid it no mind, continuing his lunge toward Li Ye with incredible speed.
"Damn it..."
Li Ye muttered suddenly. Controlling the Cyan Cloud Sword Array was harder than he’d predicted. By trading an injury for an opening, Chi Yu had taken a blow to the waist but gained the chance to attack him. Unquestionably, with the way Li Ye was currently attacking, it was impossible for him to launch another counterattack in time.
Although Li Ye was in control of the Sword Array, the Cyan Cloud Sword Array was ultimately designed for multiple operators. With only him at the helm, he couldn’t unleash its true power, and it also made the array’s responses somewhat sluggish.
"To hell with this Sword Array! Break!"
Chi Yu roared. Even if he shattered the Sword Array, Li Ye would still be a force to be reckoned with thanks to the origin substance. But if he allowed Li Ye to maintain control of the array, he wouldn’t have the slightest chance of victory.
However, Su Xing was well aware of this.
From the moment he realized the extent of Li Ye’s current power, Su Xing had naturally ceded the role of primary attacker to him. But he wasn’t just watching the show from the sidelines; he was waiting for an opportunity.
An opportunity. What opportunity?
’I was waiting for this exact moment. With Chi Yu’s attention completely fixed on Li Ye, he made a reckless charge forward. If I can just seize this chance, I can not only save Li Ye but might even kill our opponent in one fell swoop!’
"What!"
Chi Yu cried out in alarm, "Su Xing, what are you doing here? Get the hell out of my way!"
But Su Xing didn’t waste time with words and slashed down with his sword. Chi Yu immediately fell silent, his right hand swinging up to meet Su Xing’s descending Black Sword. Before they could make contact, however, Chi Yu’s eyelid twitched violently. Su Xing’s sudden intervention had given Li Ye the opening he needed to adjust the Sword Array.
And so...
VMMMM!
The ring of a sword instantly erupted!
"Damn it all!!!"
Chi Yu roared. He almost instantly abandoned his attack on Su Xing, choosing instead to dodge the sword shooting toward him. But Su Xing pressed forward, his Black Sword slashing straight at his opponent.
VMMMM!
The rings of two swords echoed.
Chi Yu stood frozen in place. He seemed to stare down at his own body in a daze, then swayed forward two steps before bursting into wild, maniacal laughter:
"AHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"I knew it! I knew it! I knew I wouldn’t die!"
"I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!"
However, as his roar died down, his entire body suddenly began to make a KAKAKAKA sound. Like a block tower collapsing after a single piece is removed, Chi Yu’s body fell apart, scattering across the ground in chunks of flesh.
Only his head rolled cleanly like a ball to stop before Su Xing. His hands, too, had not been turned to pulp and landed nearby.
The light in his eyes was rapidly fading, but the residual energy from the origin substance was still sustaining his final few moments of life. Then, his right hand suddenly spoke:
"Ngh... I... I can’t accept this!"
’He couldn’t understand why Su Xing was so powerful. Just two days ago, his strength had been nothing special, yet now he was this terrifying. Why, just two days prior, they had fought Su Xing to a standstill while just pretending to be Black and White Impermanence with a stick!’
’But now, even at full power, they couldn’t touch him. The most unbelievable part, however, wasn’t this Su Xing from Cang City—it was Li Ye and Ling Zhongxing. There was no doubt about it; they had died entirely due to Ling Zhongxing’s machinations.’
This level of scheming sent a chill down even Su Xing’s spine. ’If I ever made an enemy of someone like that,’ he thought, ’it would be incredibly troublesome.’
"Xiaoyou!"
As Chi Yu watched Xiaoyou’s life force completely dissipate, the connected bloodline within him reacted violently, compelling him to cry out.
"Why so angry? How about I send Lord Ghost down to reunite with him?"
