Swordsmanship Coach: Kill with One Slash
Chapter 460 - 275: Things Remain, but People Have Changed (Part 2)
Chapter 460: Chapter 275: Things Remain, but People Have Changed (Part 2)
Su Xing had always assumed that Jile Valley, much like the Spirit Realm, must be hidden within a Secret Realm to ensure its secrecy. But he never would have guessed that Jile Valley was an actual, physical place.
But if it truly existed, why hadn’t the special organization taken any action? Xia Country wasn’t some ancient society; it was impossible for any place to remain perfectly hidden as long as it existed in the mundane world.
"This... I don’t know either."
One of them said, shaking his head with a troubled expression.
"Actually, we could never find Jile Valley’s exact location before. It’s said there’s an Array over the valley that conceals it, which is why the special organization could never find it."
"The only reason it’s been discovered now is because Jile Valley has been making bigger and bigger moves. If they had remained as low-key as before, the special organization probably still wouldn’t have been able to pin them down."
Another person chimed in.
Also, Li Longxuan’s trip to Modu this time was related to this matter. The Modu branch of the special organization was the one that discovered Jile Valley, so this important meeting was being held there.
"I see."
Su Xing nodded. In just a few words, he had grasped the general situation inside the Spirit Realm Secret Realm. The Spirit Sect had likely abandoned this Secret Realm completely, and for some unknown reason, the rampaging spirit beasts had all gone into hiding.
This worked out perfectly for him. After all, the purpose of Su Xing’s trip was to read through all the manuals of the human survivors so his system could integrate and absorb them. He couldn’t be bothered to get mixed up in their games. With them all in hiding, it actually made things more convenient for him.
"You all carry on as usual. I’m going to make a trip into the Secret Realm."
Su Xing waved his hand, signaling for the five of them not to worry about him. Then, he headed alone toward the entrance to the Spirit Realm Secret Realm he had used before.
The entrance to the Secret Realm still hovered in the air like a black hole, seemingly eternal and unchanging. Su Xing gazed at it for a moment, then, without another word, stepped through into the Spirit Realm.
With his previous experience, Su Xing didn’t let the Spirit Realm Secret Realm randomly teleport him this time. Instead, he appeared directly at the human encampment he had visited before.
The place was much the same as when he left, with buildings still constructed primarily from bamboo. The only difference, perhaps, was the many small children now playing and laughing outside the structures. It felt much more alive and full of human warmth than when Su Xing had first arrived.
"Hm?"
One of the older boys spotted Su Xing. Noticing that his clothes were different from those of the natives, the boy couldn’t help but let out a confused sound. He stepped forward and asked:
"Senior, are you from the outside world?"
Thanks to several search operations by the special organization, the natives of the Spirit Realm were aware of the existence of humans from the outside. As such, he immediately guessed Su Xing’s identity.
"Yes."
Su Xing nodded. "Please ask your Clan Elder to come out. We once fought alongside each other. He should recognize me."
Su Xing wasn’t bothered that the young man didn’t recognize him. After all, he had kept a low profile when he came here. Other than the Liu Clan Elder and Yi, no one else had seen him, so it was only natural that he wouldn’t be recognized.
"You know the Yi Clan Elder?"
The young man immediately became suspicious. The Yi Clan Elder had only recently taken power. Although he was extremely talented and well-respected by the tribe members after his ascension, building a reputation of his own would naturally take time.
Yet, this unknown outsider was claiming to know the Yi Clan Elder, which struck him as odd.
Hearing that this human encampment had a new clan elder, Su Xing also found it strange. "What about the Liu Clan Elder?"
"..."
Hearing Su Xing mention the Liu Clan Elder’s name, the young man’s expression turned sorrowful. After a minute, he finally spoke to Su Xing.
"A few months ago, the Liu Clan Elder was severely injured in a fight with an outsider. He passed away not long after. He passed his position to Yi after that."
"..."
’That must have been the battle where I intervened.’ Su Xing understood. Although he had saved the Liu Clan Elder from a Tier Seven subordinate of the Martial God Hall, the hidden injuries from the fight, coupled with the Liu Clan Elder’s advanced age, had still claimed his life.
"My condolences," Su Xing said with a sigh. "In that case, please find the Yi Clan Elder for me. He should still remember me."
Seeing Su Xing’s reaction, the young man’s defensiveness lessened somewhat. He nodded and immediately ran into the building behind them. Before long, a young man dressed in the clan elder’s robes came out.
The Yi Clan Elder’s face was still very youthful, so wearing such robes gave him the look of a child in an oversized coat. However, the moment he saw Su Xing, he recognized him instantly and called out:
"Senior, what brings you here?"
"I wanted to see the current situation in the Spirit Realm. Also, when I left last time, there were still many manuals in other human encampments that I didn’t get a chance to read. I was hoping to get that opportunity this time."
Su Xing spoke frankly, not hiding the purpose of his visit. At the same time, looking at the young clan elder before him, he lamented inwardly:
’How things have changed.’
Still, this Yi Clan Elder was more than qualified to lead the encampment. Su Xing could sense that his cultivation had already reached Tier Seven Peak, a level of strength comparable to the Liu Clan Elder in his prime.
And how old was Yi?
Given some time, perhaps this small encampment hidden in the Spirit Realm would produce a supreme expert who could shake the world.
"So that’s how it is."
The Yi Clan Elder nodded. "Well, Senior, you’ve come at a lucky time."
"Oh?"
Hearing this, Su Xing’s eyebrows shot up. He asked, "What do you mean?"
"You’re an outsider, Senior, so you should know more about the recent changes in the Spirit Realm than we do. Logically, the special organization should have sent people to manage us to prevent any accidents."
"But the special organization has no intention of managing us. They’ve given us a significant degree of autonomy to govern ourselves, with only one requirement: that we unite all the humans within the Spirit Realm."
"Because of that, all the human manuals from across the Spirit Realm Secret Realm will be brought here."
Hearing Yi say this, a smile spread across Su Xing’s face. This was indeed excellent news. But Su Xing knew there was no such thing as a free lunch, so he asked:
"Are you running into any trouble?"
"No."
The Yi Clan Elder shook his head. "Although we were separated for a long time, the clans originally split up to escape the spirit beasts. In reality, we are all still of one mind."
"Besides, with my talent, the elders of the other tribes have faith in me. The unification plan has been going very smoothly. We’re already completely unified, with just a few minor issues left to resolve."
"..."
Su Xing was silent for a moment. "So you’ll just let me read them for free?"
"What else?"
Yi asked. "Senior, you saved the Liu Clan Elder’s life. Back then, I was young and ignorant and didn’t know how to repay you. Now, I can finally return that favor."
"However, I do have one thing to ask. The environment in the Spirit Realm Secret Realm is harsh, after all. While some of my people are used to it and don’t want to leave, there are naturally others who wish to."
"But, in the end, we are all undocumented in the mundane world. So I was hoping Senior could help arrange for residence permits for those who want to leave. It would allow them to depart the Secret Realm and start new lives."
"Of course, even if you can’t resolve this matter, Senior, I will still allow you to access the Library Pavilion and view the collection."
"No problem."
Su Xing agreed with a wave of his hand.
