Chapter 462: Chapter 276: Lei Family Village Part 2

[Dao: 1%]

...

"What is this?"

After assessing his improvements, Su Xing spotted a brand-new line of text on his system that he had never seen before. This left him puzzled.

"Could it be..."

Su Xing hesitated. ’Did this appear because I fused the secret manuals?’

It was a very reasonable guess. After all, Su Xing had just finished fusing all the secret manuals from the Spirit Realm Secret Realm. If that was the case, did it mean he could keep raising the percentage just by continuously fusing more manuals?

But...

’What will happen when it reaches 100%?’

Su Xing stared at the word "Dao," his curiosity piqued. The character immediately brought to mind concepts like the pinnacle of the Martial Dao. ’What if this percentage represents how far I am from the end of the Dao?’

’But I’m only at Tier 6. Has anyone in history truly touched upon their own Dao at just Tier 6?’ Although Su Xing couldn’t be certain, he was almost sure the answer was no. This implied that his strength, even when compared across the entire span of history, was likely among the absolute strongest.

[Sword Dao Points +67]

Suddenly, another notification popped into view. The increase in Sword Dao Points undoubtedly came from the Black Sword. For the past two days, however, Su Xing had been completely engrossed in the fusion process, so the notification had been queued up and only just appeared.

Sixty-seven Sword Dao Points. While the increase wasn’t huge, these points were gained in just two days. Most importantly, he could acquire them steadily every day without having to do anything personally. It was an incredible deal.

As long as the Black Sword existed, it would be working for him for free, allowing his Sword Dao Points to grow without end. This meant the pace of his power growth would only accelerate.

Even if he did nothing, with the Black Sword continuing its daily classes, it would only take half a month for him to reach Tier 7. Going from Tier 6 to Tier 7 in half a month was an unbelievably fast pace for anyone else. Su Xing could basically level up just by lying around.

If Su Xing managed to get more Sword Dao Points from other sources on top of the Black Sword’s round-the-clock labor, even reaching Tier 8 would be just around the corner. The thought alone made Su Xing a little excited.

’Who wouldn’t want to be more powerful?’

At the very least, Su Xing himself certainly wanted to grow ever stronger. This was merely one more step on his path to becoming the strongest.

"Whew..."

Su Xing placed the book in his hands back on the shelf. He glanced at the dazzling collection of books one last time, then prepared to leave. According to his plan, it was time to head to Lei Family Village.

Su Xing didn’t leave right away. First, he took out his phone and told Li Ye to hurry to Lei Family Village as well. Only then did he prepare to leave the Spirit Realm Secret Realm.

But before leaving the Spirit Realm Secret Realm, he needed to bid farewell to the Yi Clan Elder. Su Xing found the elder, and after exchanging a few pleasantries, he immediately announced his plan to depart.

The Yi Clan Elder didn’t try to stop him. He just nodded, said he was welcome to return anytime, and let him go. And so, Su Xing returned to the Spirit Realm.

Back in the Spirit Realm, Su Xing pulled out his phone and checked the location of Lei Family Village. He immediately tore open a spatial rift and vanished without a trace, not disturbing anyone, as if he had never been there at all.

...

Lei Family Village was a fishing village where all the residents shared the surname Lei. When Su Xing arrived, the sky was overcast, and a persistent, drizzling rain fell, lending the place a particularly strange atmosphere.

In front of a house at the village entrance stood three men. Two of them wore swords at their waists and what looked like helmets, while the man between them was seated in a wheelchair. He was dressed all in white, with remarkably handsome features.

"Team Leader Leng is on official business. Halt!"

"Interfere with our duties, and you will be dealt with according to the law!"

Seeing Su Xing approach, one of the men, who was holding a slender blade, immediately stepped forward to speak. He didn’t recognize Su Xing and clearly didn’t want any outsiders near, so he resorted to direct threats.

"Su Xing from Cang City. I’m here to see Team Leader Leng."

Su Xing said.

"Tsk..."

The man shot Su Xing a look. He clearly knew who Su Xing was, but he hesitated and still didn’t move aside, as if afraid Su Xing might do something to the person behind him. However, Leng Wuque spoke up:

"Zhang Wen, he’s the head of the Cang City division. That makes him our superior. Don’t be rude."

"Team Leader!"

The other man said nervously.

"Don’t worry. I’ve heard about some of Minister Su’s exploits. He is definitely not our enemy."

Leng Wuque said.

Su Xing found the two men’s nervousness a bit strange, but he didn’t press the issue. Instead, he spoke politely:

"Greetings, Leng Wuque of Modu."

"COUGH COUGH..."

Leng Wuque coughed forcefully a couple of times. It was strange—though he was an Extraordinary Being, his body seemed to be in poor health. He looked at Su Xing and said:

"There’s no need for formalities."

"Elder Su, what brings you here?"

"I’m the head of the Cang City division. Since Team Leader Leng is in my city to confront Jile Valley, I’ve naturally come to offer my assistance."

Su Xing said with a smile.

"Help... me...?"

Leng Wuque hesitated for a moment before asking, "Elder Su, have you ever heard of Lin Loulan?"

"I’ve heard the members of Jile Valley mention the ’Three Wits Under Heaven.’ Lin Loulan is one of them, but isn’t he already dead?"

Su Xing asked in confusion.

"I see."

Leng Wuque nodded. "Lin Loulan was originally part of a special organization in Beijiang City. His intellect was second to none, but his actual strength was mediocre. He supposedly met a tragic end during a battle in a Secret Realm."

"Why do you bring this up, Team Leader Leng?"

Su Xing asked, still puzzled, "Don’t tell me the dead can come back to life?"

"Indeed, the dead cannot be revived. But one can fake their own death."

Leng Wuque explained, "Lin Loulan is from Beijiang, in the north. Even if he had come back from the dead, he has no reason to be in Cang City, which is in the south. And yet, he’s here."

"Based on multiple investigations, I have every reason to suspect his death was faked. He has now joined Jile Valley, and his purpose here is likely to cause chaos in Cang City, and by extension, destabilize the entire southern region of the Xia Country."

"..."

Su Xing was stunned for a moment. He hadn’t expected events to unfold this way. After a moment of thought, he said, "Team Leader Leng, you came to my Cang City... Does this mean you believe Lin Loulan is here, in Lei Family Village?"

"Elder Su, are you aware of an organization called Sea Fish?"

Leng Wuque asked. Su Xing was, of course, aware of them. Since becoming the head of the Cang City division, he had made it a point to understand the city’s affairs very clearly.

The Sea Fish Organization was a criminal group akin to pirates. Though not particularly powerful, they lived at sea year-round, which made them incredibly difficult to capture. This was how they had managed to survive to this day.

"Of course."

Su Xing nodded.

"Normally, pirates who operate at sea year-round should rarely set foot on land. And yet, many members of the Sea Fish Organization have gathered near Lei Family Village."

Leng Wuque continued, "I suspect the Sea Fish Organization is no ordinary criminal enterprise. It’s highly likely they have some connection to Lin Loulan."

"If that’s the case," Su Xing said, glancing at Leng Wuque’s men, "I notice you haven’t brought many people, and their strength doesn’t seem particularly high. If the Sea Fish Organization is truly tied to Jile Valley and they decide to attack you, wouldn’t you be in extreme danger?"

Su Xing looked at Leng Wuque as he spoke, but Zhang Wen, who stood beside him, interjected:

"There’s a reason we didn’t bring a large force. If the enemy were to make a major move, we would surely detect it. And if they only send one or two people after us, we have our own ways to survive."

"If they dare to send a large group to attack us, it would be tantamount to a direct assault on official personnel. At that point, the severity of their crimes would be amplified, and it would become clear at a glance who is connected to Lin Loulan. Our Team Leader is counting on that very point, which is why he only brought the two of us here."

Zhao Wu said.
