Chapter 458 - 267: Rising Fame (Part 2)
When this matter spread, many people’s first reaction was disbelief. Only after the authenticity was confirmed did they become truly shocked.
Consequently, the Star Alliance rapidly gained fame within the Wizard World.
At least among mid to lower-level wizards, hardly anyone is unaware of the Star Alliance’s name now.
"It’s an honor to meet you!"
Blaise showed more respect in his demeanor and added a touch of eagerness.
"I heard the Star Alliance recently acquired a biological nest in the Wolf Tide realm, capable of hatching Black Wolves and Twilight Wolves. I am very interested in these nest creatures. Might Lord Sunan be willing to sell me a few? I can pay extra magic stones!"
Sunan was slightly taken aback, but soon understood, knowing the person in front of him belonged to the Ten Thousand Headed Bird group, which had a penchant for studying exotic beasts.
"The Twilight Wolves are scarce, and the Star Alliance currently has no plans to sell them, but Black Wolves are available. If the Ten Thousand Headed Bird group wants them, they can procure them from the Star Alliance."
In the Wolf Tide realm, the Twilight Wolves were mostly wiped out, currently none remain, hence no possibility of selling them.
Even if there were, Sunan planned not to sell them anytime soon, as the Twilight Valley could only hatch one Twilight Wolf a year.
Unless the Twilight Wolves reached their maximum, Sunan intended to handle them internally.
Conversely, Black Wolves hatch rapidly, reaching their limit in at most ten years. Selling thousands is fine, as it brings magic stones with nearly no cost involved.
After hearing Sunan’s words, Blaise was slightly disappointed but quickly cheered up, thinking that buying Black Wolves wasn’t a bad deal.
Importantly, Sunan implied that a large-scale purchase was possible, suggesting many in his organization might be interested in nest creatures, perhaps allowing him to earn some profit from the deal.
With this thought, Blaise became excited, expressing gratitude repeatedly.
Blaise was instructed to contact Lize later, as Sunan inquired with Tanner, "Where is the arena with the supreme golem blueprint bet?"
"It’s at ring number 24, over here." Tanner moved forward.
The group proceeded to reach the front of ring 24.
[Ring 24]
[Arena Master: Macarco Campbell]
[Affiliation: Black Rope Tower]
[Level: Level 3 Crystallization Wizard]
[Bet: Supreme Golem Blueprint]
[Challenge Fee: 50,000 Lower Magic Stones]
"A wizard from the Black Rope Tower."
Lize furrowed her brow slightly, a hint of disdain flashed in her eyes.
The Black Rope Tower was among the evil faction wizard influences, commonly referred to as the Black Wizard faction.
Its overall power was slightly inferior to the Dark Throne, belonging to second-tier wizard influences, yet its notorious reputation was nearly as comparable as the Dark Throne’s.
"Macarco’s power is formidable; he once dueled with a cloak wizard from the Dark Throne, ending in a draw," Tanner whispered.
Upon hearing this, Lize’s brows furrowed tighter, glancing at Sunan with concern.
Blaise also realized Sunan was aiming for the supreme golem blueprint, intending to participate in the arena duel.
He glanced at the inscription on the stone monument, opting not to speak.
Cloak wizards from the Dark Throne were all exemplary among Level 3 wizards; even casually selected ones could stand against three regular Level 3 Crystallization Wizards without falling behind!
And fighting a cloak wizard to a draw showed Macarco’s might.
Even Sunan may not necessarily be Macarco’s opponent.
Sunan ignored the changes in attitude from others, placing his hand on the stone monument.
His ears soon heard the monotonous mechanical voice of the Tower Spirit.
[Detected first-time login target, please register identity information.]
[Friendly reminder, do not submit false identity information. Once verified as false, penalties include but are not limited to expulsion from the Starry Tower and a lifetime ban from entering the Starry Tower and permanent expulsion from the All Things City.]
The registration procedure was simple, and Sunan completed it swiftly.
His identity information then appeared on the stone monument.
[Challenger: Sunan Yanest]
[Affiliation: Star Alliance]
[Level: Level 3 Vaporization Wizard]
[Challenge Order: 3]
Seeing the information appear on the stone monument, Tanner and Blaise simultaneously widened their eyes, looking surprised.
In their view, Sunan must be a Level 3 Crystallization Wizard to defeat Youxi, yet didn’t expect Sunan was merely a Level 3 Vaporization Wizard!
Level 3 Vaporization versus Level 3 Crystallization, yet he counter-kills?
They exchanged a glance, momentarily questioning if Youxi was simply overrated.
However, considering it further, no matter how overrated, Youxi was indeed a genuine Level 3 Crystallization Wizard. It only showed Sunan’s power was evidently beyond their imagination.
No wonder, knowing Macarco possessed strength akin to cloak wizards, Sunan dared to challenge.
Unconcerned about their thoughts, Sunan focused on the challenge order list on the stone monument.
Wizards initiating challenges were displayed on the stone monument in chronological order.
Two individuals were queued ahead of Sunan.
One was named Amman Reed, a Level 3 Crystallization Wizard from the Sea King Whale.
Sunan recalled the Sea King Whale also being a second-tier wizard influence, famous for its water element talent ability. Its witchcraft artifacts, golems, and exotic beasts life were predominantly water-related, a wizard influence specialized in the water element.
The other challenger was named Grus Hughes, also a Level 3 Crystallization Wizard, from the Pale Mask.
Like the Black Rope Tower, the Pale Mask was another faction within the Black Wizard influences, having a somewhat better reputation than the Black Rope Tower but still very similar.
Dueling in the Starry Tower’s arena disregarded camp affiliations; wizards from the same faction would unsheathe their swords over benefits.
While outside the Starry Tower, Black Wizard influences were perpetually scheming and battling against each other anyway.
Boom!
The stone monument suddenly glowed, and a wizard appeared out of thin air in front of it.
His face was pale, blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, his expression extremely unpleasant, evidencing his loss in the duel.
Arena duels lacked perfect protective measures; heavy injuries were commonplace, the only protection being the ability to instantly exit the duel space anytime.
Whether the challenger or the arena master, they could disengage from combat instantly when things went south.
Nevertheless, each year there were many instances of duel participants dying.
Killing an opponent during the arena duel didn’t incur consequences from the All Things Association, nor permitted anyone within All Things City to seek violent revenge against the killer.
Of course, once outside All Things City, the All Things Association couldn’t intervene.
The defeated wizard glanced at Sunan and the others, wiped the corner of his mouth, and left quickly with a dark expression.
The wizard just concluding the duel could choose to rest, but the first name on the sequence swiftly lit up, indicating the arena master skipped resting and started the next challenge, expressing obvious confidence in his ability.
A wizard clad in a sea-blue robe, with an exotic beast head pattern tattooed on his cheek, approached, glanced at the inscription on the stone monument, acknowledged Sunan’s information with a peculiar expression, sized Sunan up, then placed his hand on the monument.
[Please pay a challenge fee of 50,000 lower magic stones or an equivalent value of mid-to-high level magic stones; other items are not accepted for deduction.]
The Tower Spirit’s voice resonated, the stone monument’s center split open.
The wizard took out five hundred upper magic stones, tossed them inside; his figure flashed with light, disappearing instantly.
The second challenge began.
"Sir, after this challenge ends, the arena master should rest. I suggest we return and come back the next day."
Tanner proposed.
No matter how formidable the arena master was, at most he’d accept two challenges before needing to rest and recover. Fighting under poor conditions was prone to unexpected failures.
Sunan agreed, departing with Lize.
The next day, as they returned, they noticed a wizard wearing a white mask standing before stone monument 24, paying the fee.
Sensing people approaching, he turned to look; the eyes beneath the mask flickered, emitting a deep voice.
"Sunan Yanest?"
