Chapter 137: World Mission

Inside Liu Yun’s sea of consciousness, the ball of light stared at the data displayed on the large screen in front of it.

After a moment of thought, the System said, [Based on the data we have collected about Liu Ruyan so far, the probability of the Zombie Emperor successfully killing her is 100%. However, due to the foreign intervention behind her, the probability of completely eliminating her will drop significantly to just 30%.]

Hearing this, Liu Yun raised her eyebrows slightly.

’Only 30%? Looks like Liu Ruyan is more difficult to deal with than I expected.’

Hearing what she said, the System explained, [Player, the difficult part isn’t dealing with Liu Ruyan herself, but the foreign intervention behind her.]

Recalling the warning she had received when she used Heaven’s Eyes on Liu Ruyan, Liu Yun thought for a moment before saying, ’I see. I wonder if we can lure that foreign intervention out and deal with it.’

The System considered her suggestion for a moment before replying, [You can give it a try. However, this System still recommends that the Player keep a low profile for now until we discover the foreign intervention’s weakness.]

Nodding in agreement, Liu Yun replied inwardly, ’Understood. I’ll do as you suggested.’

While Liu Yun was discussing how to deal with Liu Ruyan with the System, Liu Ruyan finally came back to her senses. Taking a few steps away from Ye Xuan, she chuckled nervously.

"Elder Brother Ye Xuan, why are you here?"

At her question, Ye Xuan glanced at her coldly. After a few seconds of silence, he looked away and ignored her completely.

Being ignored, Liu Ruyan’s expression darkened. She clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms, yet she still forced herself to smile.

Looking at Liu Ruyan’s distorted face, which looked as though she had just swallowed a fly, Liu Yun blinked and commented, ’This woman really has incredible self-control.’

The System heard her thoughts and responded, [You are right, Player.]

While Liu Yun watched the drama unfold from the sidelines, Liu Ruyan finally noticed her. When she saw Ye Xuan holding Liu Yun’s hand, surprise and interest flashed across her eyes.

Smiling sweetly at Liu Yun, she asked, "Elder Sister, are you Elder Brother Ye Xuan’s girlfriend?"

The moment she asked this, Ye Xuan stepped forward and blocked Liu Ruyan’s view of Liu Yun.

Blinking innocently, Liu Ruyan said in an aggrieved tone, "Elder Brother Ye Xuan, Ruyan was just asking a question. Do you really hate Ruyan so much that you won’t even introduce this elder sister to me?"

Peeking out from behind Ye Xuan, Liu Yun clicked her tongue and commented inwardly, ’Look at her, look at her. The smell of tea is so strong that she could choke an entire village to death!’

Inside Liu Yun’s sea of consciousness, the System watched the scene displayed on the virtual screen with interest before replying, [This woman is indeed a master of the art of manipulation.]

Unaware that Liu Yun and the System were mocking her, Liu Ruyan called out to her system.

’System, come out right now!’

Two seconds after she called, the blue cat appeared. Floating in the air, it smiled and asked, "Host, do you need something?"

The moment the blue cat appeared, a warning rang out in Liu Yun’s mind.

[Warning! Warning! Warning!]

[Foreign intervention detected! Please eliminate the foreign agent as soon as possible!]

Stunned by the warning, Liu Yun froze in place. Before she could react, a transparent blue screen appeared in front of her.

Ding!

[World Mission: Eliminate Foreign Agent]

[Time Limit: None]

[Reward: World Fragment ×1]

[Penalty: World Destruction Progress +20%]

[Accept] [Reject]

When Liu Yun saw the mission, she sucked in a sharp breath.

’Grass! A World Mission?! System, are you sure you want someone as weak as me to undertake this mission?!’

Despite Liu Yun’s shock and disbelief, the System calmly replied in its usual mechanical voice, [Player, you must believe in yourself. You can do this. A big surprise awaits you when you collect all the World Fragments.]

Listening to the System draw a big pie for her, Liu Yun was left speechless.

"......" System, I can’t believe you are actually using this trick on me.ⅇ

Although she was speechless at the System’s attempt to motivate her, Liu Yun still accepted the World Mission. Given the penalty alone, she had no choice but to accept it.

While Liu Yun was talking to the System, Ye Xuan had already lost his patience. Glancing at the others, he said, "Let’s go."

Without sparing Liu Ruyan another glance, he pulled Liu Yun along and headed toward one of the counters.

As they passed Liu Ruyan, Gu Zhenwei glared at her and warned, "What are you looking at? Watch it, or I’ll dig your eyes out!"

Watching them walk away, Liu Ruyan clenched her fists so tightly that her palms began to bleed.

Gritting her teeth, she let out a cold chuckle as she thought, ’Good, good, good. Just you wait! I won’t let any of you leave this place alive!’

She glared at Liu Yun’s retreating figure one last time before turning around and storming out of the building. Floating beside her, the blue cat turned around and thoughtfully looked at Liu Yun.

Rubbing the back of her neck, Liu Yun muttered, "Why do I suddenly feel cold?"

Overhearing her, Qiu Sixun asked, "What’s wrong, Younger Sister Liu? Do you want me to check your health for you?"

Getting sick in the apocalypse was no joke. To be safe, Liu Yun held out her left wrist and said, "Then I will have to trouble you, Elder Brother Qiu."

Qiu Sixun smiled as he placed his fingers on her wrist to check her pulse.

A minute later, he withdrew his fingers and said, "You are just tired from the long journey. Once we’ve settled down, I will prepare some medicinal food to help you recover your stamina."

Liu Yun sighed in relief and thanked him sincerely. "Thank you, Elder Brother Qiu. Just tell me what ingredients you need. I still have some vegetables in my space."

"All right."

As they talked, the couple ahead of them finished their business and walked away.
