Chapter 139: Villa Residential Area

After Pei Rui left, Liu Yun stood up. Seeing that Lan Zuancheng and the others had finished dealing with the paperwork, she asked, "Is everything done?"

Ye Xuan looked at her and replied, "We just need to pay the rent now."

The staff member smiled and said, "You can simply hand over the supplies, and I will count them."

Hearing this, Lan Zuancheng added, "Younger Sister Liu, please take out twenty cans of food and ten cans of fruit."

Liu Yun nodded and took the items out of her Dimensional Space.

Seeing the canned food and fruit appear on the counter, the staff member’s eyes widened in surprise. He glanced at Liu Yun again before placing the supplies in a cardboard box and handing them a key and a small piece of paper.

"This is the key to your villa, along with its address. Would you like one of our staff members to show you the way?"

"All right. Please remember to come back next month to pay the rent," the staff member reminded them.

"Understood."

With that, Ye Xuan led the others out of the civil affairs bureau under the curious gazes of the people around them.

Forty minutes later, Liu Yun felt as though her legs no longer belonged to her.

Dragging her exhausted body along the way, she looked up at the hazy sky and asked, "Elder Brother Lan, how much farther do we have to go before we reach the villa?"

Lan Zuancheng glanced at the simple map he had bought after leaving the civil affairs bureau before pointing toward the intersection ahead.

"After turning left at that intersection, we only need to walk another three hundred meters to reach the villa residential area."

Listening to his explanation, Liu Yun wiped the sweat from her forehead and said, "All right. Let’s hurry up."

Seeing her exhausted expression, Lan Zuancheng gently patted her back. "We’re almost there."

When he returned, he handed Lan Zuancheng six access cards and said, "These are the only access cards that can open the gate. If you lose a card, you must report it to the civil affairs bureau and pay the penalty fee."

"Understood." Lan Zuancheng accepted the cards and distributed them among the others.

When he was done, the soldier showed them how to unlock the main gate. Two minutes later, Ye Xuan used an access card to open it.

Standing behind the others, Liu Yun watched in awe as the tall metal gate slowly slid open.

’Whoa! I never expected the technology in this world to be even more advanced than that of my original world. If it weren’t for the apocalypse, I wonder how far this world could have progressed.’

While she was lost in thought, Ye Xuan and the others had already passed through the main gate. Seeing this, Liu Yun hurried to catch up with them.
