Grinning with satisfaction at her own cleverness, Liu Yun quickly finished her porridge. After wiping her lips, she stood up and carried the dirty dishes to the kitchen.

Once she had finished cleaning up, she said, ’System, let’s go out and find Gu Lingjian.’

[Player, what do you plan to do?] The System asked with a rare hint of curiosity in its mechanical voice

The corners of Liu Yun’s lips curled up slightly at the System’s question. As she left the villa, she replied, ’Isn’t my Hidden Mission still missing the final 25% of its progress? I’m going to complete it today!’

Brimming with energy, Liu Yun closed the metal gate behind her and headed toward the military compound to find Gu Lingjian.

Along the way, Liu Yun noticed several groups of people leaving the villa residential area.

Raising her eyebrows slightly, she thought, ’This is the first time I have seen so many people in this area.’

Curious, she deliberately moved closer to an elderly couple walking ahead of her. Perking up her ears, she discreetly listened to their conversation.

"Old man, do you think we will be able to buy some vegetables today? It’s been two months since I last ate any," the elderly woman asked, a hint of worry in her voice.

Holding her hand, the elderly man sighed. "Hopefully. I heard this month’s harvest wasn’t good. Not to mention vegetables—even whether we will be able to buy enough grain to last us the month is still uncertain."

Walking a short distance behind them, Liu Yun thought for a moment before calling out to the couple.

"Excuse me, Grandpa and Grandma."

Hearing someone call them, the old couple stopped and turned around. Seeing a young woman standing behind them, the elderly woman smiled gently and asked, "Child, do you need something?"

Liu Yun smiled politely and replied, "Grandma, I’m sorry for overhearing your conversation with Grandpa."

The elderly woman chuckled, waved her hand, and said, "It’s nothing secret. You don’t need to apologize."

Noticing that Liu Yun seemed to have something to ask, the elderly man spoke up. "Child, is there something you need from us?"

Liu Yun nodded and explained, "Grandpa, Grandma, I just moved here two days ago, so I don’t know much about the base’s rules or where to buy supplies. If you don’t mind, could you tell me where I can buy grain?"

"I visited Market Street yesterday, but most of the stalls there only sold clothes, bags, shoes, and other miscellaneous items."

When the old couple learned that she was their new neighbor, they exchanged glances. The elderly woman then looked at her and said, "Let’s talk while we walk."

Liu Yun nodded and naturally fell into step beside them as they continued out of the villa residential area.

Walking beside the elderly woman, Liu Yun asked, "Grandma, I heard you and Grandpa talking about buying vegetables just now. Are all these people heading out to buy vegetables, too?"

The elderly woman nodded. "Child, you are new here, so you might not know that today is distribution day."

"Distribution day? What’s that?" Liu Yun asked curiously.

"Distribution day is when we can exchange contribution points for supplies. It only happens once a month, but the date isn’t fixed. The base only announced it this morning," the elderly man explained.

Nodding in understanding, Liu Yun replied, "I see. No wonder there are so many people out today."

"That’s right." The elderly man glanced at Liu Yun before asking, "Child, since you are new here, do you have any contribution points?"

Liu Yun shook her head. "I don’t have any. Does that mean I can’t buy supplies without contribution points?"

The elderly man chuckled and explained, "Not necessarily. You can exchange other supplies of equivalent value for the supplies you want. However, whether the base accepts what you offer is up to them."

"I see."

As they chatted, they continued following the crowd.

Twenty minutes later, the elderly man pointed toward an open square packed with people and said, "We have arrived. See those tents? That’s where the base distributes and sells supplies."

Liu Yun followed his gaze. Seeing the crowded square and the long queues in front of the tents, she wasn’t surprised.

While she was observing her surroundings, the elderly man pointed in another direction and added, "You can barter supplies or sell them in exchange for contribution points over there."

Turning toward the tent he had pointed out, Liu Yun asked, "Why isn’t anyone queuing there?"

The elderly woman chuckled at her question. "People who come here to buy supplies usually already have some contribution points. It’s rare for anyone to barter supplies, let alone exchange supplies for contribution points."

Recalling the crowded Mission Hall, Liu Yun guessed that completing missions was one way to earn contribution points.

"I see." She turned to the old couple and smiled. "Thank you for explaining everything to me, Grandpa and Grandma."

The elderly man waved his hand dismissively. "It’s nothing. We still need to buy some supplies, so we will head over there first. If you need any help, you can ask the soldiers nearby."

"Understood."

After the old couple left, Liu Yun headed toward the empty tent. "Excuse me. I heard I can sell supplies here."

Hearing this, a staff member sitting behind a long table raised his head. When he saw Liu Yun, he nodded and asked, "Yes. Do you have anything you’d like to sell to us?"

Liu Yun nodded before asking, "Do you accept vegetables?"

The moment the staff member heard her question, he froze in surprise. A few seconds later, he came back to his senses and asked, "Are you sure you want to sell vegetables?"

"Yes," Liu Yun confirmed.

Seeing how serious she was, the staff member stood up and quickly replied, "I’m afraid I can’t make that decision myself. Please wait a moment, young lady. I need to call my supervisor."

"All right."

With that, the staff member hurried inside the tent. Before long, he returned with a middle-aged man dressed in a black military uniform.
