Chapter 808: Legend of the Six Attributes
Chapter 808: Chapter 808: Legend of the Six Attributes
The depths of the ruins grew colder with every step Ethan took into the abyss.
[Eons ago, when the cosmos was an shapeless ocean of shadow and silence, the One awakened from his primordial slumber. With a single breath of his will, he shattered the nothingness and began the work of Creation, shaping existence across seven eternal eras.]
Ethan descended in silence, listening to the solemn resonance encompassing his mind.
[To sustain the vastness of the universe, the One erected neither stone pillars nor barriers of energy, but instead divided life into six primordial attributes, bestowing upon each a unique essence and a purpose within the web of the cosmos.]
Crul’s voice paused, and for a second, the runic inscriptions along the stairwell walls seemed to flicker with a purple glow.
[The first attribute to emanate from his grace was the Celestial. From the purest light sprang the divine armies: golden-winged angels, guardian archangels, seraphim wrapped in sacred fire, and mythical beasts such as the Ziz, the winged lion whose roar made the stars tremble.]
[Yet light could not exist without its counterpart. Thus arose the Infernal attribute, the cradle of demons and lords of accursed fire, born of burning heat and ambition. Alongside it unfolded the Abyssal attribute, inhabited by aberrations spawned within absolute darkness, entities of corrosion and shadow that devoured light in their wake.]
Ethan walked down the steps with steady feet, visualizing the magnificence of those ancient beings.
[The fourth to be shaped was the Terrestrial attribute, the realm of matter and flourishing life. There, humans, spiritual beasts, and ancient forests were born. Terrestrial beings were fragile, born without the flames or divine wings of other factions, yet blessed with the infinite capacity to cultivate and transcend their limits.]
[Then, from the fissures of Creation, the fifth attribute manifested: Chaos. Beings of devastating, unfathomable power inhabited this force. Unlike abyssal creatures, chaotic entities were not forged from darkness, but from pure entropy that shatters and reforms worlds at whim.]
[And finally, at the furthest borders of the cosmos, where the light of the One barely touched reality, settled the sixth attribute: the Void. Absolute nothingness gave shape to nightmare entities, cosmic-scale abyssal beings like the Great Void Nightmare, whose mere presence was capable of erasing the existence of entire planets... and whose bloodline, Master, flows through your veins today.]
Ethan paused on a wide stone landing, gazing into the darkness stretching below.
"Six opposing, colossal natures...", said Ethan. "How is it possible that the universe hasn’t torn itself apart under the collision of such forces?"
[Because there is a seventh energy that governs over all six], replied Crul, letting out a low chuckle that echoed in Ethan’s sea of consciousness. [The supreme force that sustains them, connects them, and maintains cosmic balance. In the upper planes, the Sages call it Creation Energy... although to you, who carry the ancestor’s heritage, it is nothing other than Amethyst Energy.]
Ethan froze on the stone staircase. His eyes widened in a mixture of shock and disbelief as he processed the ancestral sword’s words.
"How is it possible that the ancestor mastered such a terrifying energy?" asked Ethan, clenching his fists. "How the hell did he obtain it?"
[I have no detailed records of how he achieved it], replied Crul, maintaining a deep tone within his mind. [There is only one entry regarding it in the sword’s archives, and it details the exact moment he obtained it.]
"He stumbled upon it by accident in a cave without knowing what it was...", muttered Ethan, letting out a bitter laugh.
[Indeed, Master], confirmed Crul. [Following an ancient map, Lord Amethyst reached the place of the inheritance and took control of the energy. According to the records left by Lord Amethyst himself, he was the first living being in history to control Creation Energy directly with his body, fusing it with his blood... but he is not the only one who has utilized it.]
Ethan furrowed his brow, intrigued.
"What do you mean?" asked Ethan.
[Beings in the upper realms cannot harbor it within their veins as the ancestor did or as you do now, but they use it as a supreme catalyst to amplify their power or to forge things], explained Crul. [Due to its creator attribute, Amethyst Energy is capable of forming anything in existence, provided there is a sufficient amount of energy to materialize it.]
Ethan gazed at his hands in the gloom, feeling the latent heat of the blood surging through his veins.
"So my power is the power of creation?" asked Ethan, clenching his fist as he stared at the palm of his hand.
[Yes and no, Master], replied Crul, adopting an analytical tone. [The power you hold through your bloodline possesses traces of Creation Energy; however, it has diluted with every generation born before you.]
Ethan raised his eyebrows in the gloom.
"It has diluted?" repeated Ethan.
[Lord Amethyst possessed an exceedingly pure power. He could create things out of thin air simply by imagining them, not only because of his bloodline, but also because he owned a gigantic vein of Amethyst Stone. However, you only carry a trace of the original bloodline, which is why you cannot create things out of nothing like he did. Nevertheless, the system Lord Amethyst created serves as a crutch to help you manifest objects, and it stored a small amount of amethyst energy. When the beacon linked to you, that energy transferred into your body, and that is the very energy we have been using all this time.]
Ethan remained silent for a few moments, processing the magnitude of what he had just heard.
"If merely a trace of amethyst energy made me who I am today...", said Ethan, feeling a cold shiver run down his spine, "how strong was the ancestor, really?"
[The ancestor was so strong that he ruled over the most powerful beings in creation and fucked the women of the most influential entities in the cosmos], answered Crul with a laugh steeped in pride and bitterness. [And it was only due to his own negligence and blind trust in his overwhelming power that those bastards managed to band together and assassinate him.]
