Talent Awakening: Draconic Overlord Of The Apocalypse

Chapter 551: A Sight Worthy of Their Gaze

Although she had been confused at first, Eli’Erel began to understand.

Sonoris—Alister—had sealed his brother Alameck within his very soul. In doing so, much of his own strength had been diverted, endlessly consumed in sustaining that prison. For Alameck was no mere wraith to be dismissed, but a force of ruin, a being whose might demanded constant suppression.

To bind him had cost Alister dearly. To maintain that seal for ages untold required more than half of his power.

But now...

Now the seal was broken.

Alameck stood unbound. And with his release, Alister himself was freed of the burden that had crippled his might for so long.

His strength was not growing.

It was returning.

The truth pressed upon Eli’Erel like a weight she could scarcely bear.

Two halves of a sundered whole, two aspects of a Title that brought the end to the creators of the cosmos—both now stood before her, unshackled.

Alameck, stained in blood, the embodiment of destruction made flesh.

Alister, radiant creator of dragons, his strength no longer squandered upon a seal but sharpened, resplendent in all its majesty.

What she faced was not simply a dragon lord of ruin nor a rebellious sovereign of light and flame. No—this was... they were... the Architect of Celestial Death restored. Both now risen to stride once more against the order of the cosmos.

Her chains burned. Her flesh writhed beneath the golden fire. And yet the true agony that consumed her was not the searing of her body, but the revelation that the mythos she had sworn her life to was collapsing before her eyes.

Despite the agony burning through her, Eli’Erel steadied herself as best she could. Her voice, though strained, carried a brittle edge of conviction.

"Even if I fall here today... you will not stop my Lord from achieving his grand design."

She paused, shadows trembling around her lips as she forced the words through gritted teeth.

"All of existence shall be rewritten... into a grander reality... one to take the place of this flawed o—"

Her words broke off in a wet choke.

Alister’s golden sword construct drove down her throat in an instant, severing her head in a single, merciless strike.

"The ramblings of a wounded animal," he said coldly, narrowing his eyes in disgust. "How... annoying."

He stepped once, the earth fracturing beneath him, and brought his heel down upon her head. Bone, shadow, and ichor burst beneath the radiant weight, fragments dissolving into golden light and fading ash.

Around them, the battlefield seemed to hold its breath as the Abyssal general’s body collapsed, chains burning until there was nothing left but a mist of fading darkness.

Alameck watched the last of Eli’Erel’s form crumble into fading particles, his expression twisting into a frown.

"No meat?" he muttered with clear disappointment. "How disappointing."

His gaze drifted upward, past the storm-torn skies, settling on the inverted black castle suspended above, its jagged spires bleeding shadow into the heavens. He sneered, lips curling in visible disgust.

"Ugh... how utterly repulsive. It ruins the view."

Lifting one blood-slicked hand, he stretched his claws toward the sky. His fingers slowly clenched, joints cracking, as though grasping for the colossal fortress itself. The air shuddered around him, purple embers swirling in violent arcs as his grip tightened.

The inverted castle quivered in the sky as Alameck’s grip tightened. At first, it was subtle—the faint groan of stone under impossible strain, like the cracking of ice across a frozen lake. Then, piece by piece, the fortress began to implode inward.

Spire after spire folded into itself, jagged towers bending unnaturally until the entire castle shrank upon its own heart. Shadows screamed as though alive, drawn inward in violent streams, vanishing into a singularity that swelled at its center.

A black void bloomed where the fortress had once loomed, widening, deepening. The air itself twisted and convulsed. Every trace of storm cloud, every shred of darkness, was ripped from the heavens and devoured.

Untill the black hole suddenly vanished.

The sky cleared with sudden swiftness. The moon, pale and radiant, broke through at last, casting its silver glow across the ruined battlefield.

Alameck exhaled, a satisfied smile curling his bloodied lips. He spread his arms slightly, as though welcoming the night.

"Now that," he breathed, savoring the untainted air, "is simply beautiful. A sight worthy of my gaze."

Alister stood in the silence that followed, the storm now cleared to reveal a pristine moonlit sky. Even he found the sight pleasing.

His golden constructs, orbiting him, slowly dissolved into fading motes of light. Yet his hair, long and silver, remained unnaturally extended, as though the power still lingered within him... perhaps a sign of his now returned strength. His attire suddenly changed in a shimmer of lighy: a casual black suit woven suddenly taking the place of his scales and wings, with a golden shoulder cape that draped elegantly over his frame.

He lifted his gaze to the heavens. Peaceful—almost serene—despite the fact that the city below lay in ruins, reduced to little more than fractured stone and burning embers.

But before he could speak, the silence shattered.

A sharp chime echoed within his mind.

⫷『Congratulations. You have defeated a member of the House of Oboros.』⫸

⫷『Your actions have caused massive ripples across the mythos of both Houses.』⫸

One after another, windows of light flickered before him.

⫷『Level Up!』⫸

⫷『Level Up!』⫸

They did not stop. His body resonated with each surge, the sheer volume of messages layering upon themselves until his vision blurred with white-gold light.

At last, the ascent ceased.

⫷『MAX LEVEL ACHIEVED.』⫸

The final notification pulsed brighter than the rest.

⫷『Radiant Creator (Authority / Class Unique Skill, EX Rank).』⫸

⫷『You are capable of creating anything matter-related, as well as altering and recompositing all matter—laws and concepts. However, there are limits.』⫸

The light faded, leaving Alister’s golden eyes glimmering with something between recognition... and inevitability.
