Forty- Nine Teams, One Target

"He might be a prodigy raised by some major family," a middle-aged man mused, stroking his chin.

"Very likely. Someone with this level of strength definitely isn’t an ordinary person."

As the matches progressed, Leon’s name became known to more and more people.

There was no helping it—the martial exams were the greatest event in the Great Dawn Dynasty.

The entire city was watching.

Under so many watchful eyes, Leon had achieved two consecutive 1-vs-49 victories.

How could he not attract attention?

Soon, the third match was about to begin!

"You all know our situation by now."

"That guy has already earned ’Complete Victory’ twice in a row."

"We’re all examinees here. You should all know what that rating means, right?" a student said calmly.

"He eliminated all forty-nine other teams in his group by himself to earn that rating!" Another student from No. 12 High said with a fearful expression.

"That’s right."

"Everyone—we attack at the same time with our strongest beast-soul skills. Don’t give him a chance to counter!"

"Understood?"

A student with a commanding presence spoke solemnly.

"Yeah!"

"We’re with you!"

The other students responded in unison.

"Wait!" One student suddenly spoke up. "Will that really work? You’ve all seen his strength. Even if we all attack together, we might not be able to beat him."

The commanding student snorted, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes:

"Don’t worry. Buffs first—if anyone has area buff skills, cast them on everyone. Then the offense and control types unleash their beast-soul skills."

"Defense types—deploy your protective barriers!"

"Work together, and we can definitely beat him. We can fight for rankings afterward—it’s better than getting thrown off the stage all at once!"

"This guy swept through the last two matches in under five minutes!"

Everyone fell silent.

In the placement matches, the longer you stayed on stage, the higher your score.

If you couldn’t last five minutes... that meant at best you’d get five points.

And these points counted toward the final martial exam total!

If you performed poorly in the placement matches and got assigned to a low-tier hunting ground, scoring high later would be even harder.

"Don’t be afraid. I still have a trump card."

"A trump card?"

Hearing those words, the other students were startled—then realization dawned on their faces.

"You mean..."

"That’s right!"

The commanding student nodded, a fierce look in his eyes: "No matter how strong he is, he’s still just one person."

"As long as we coordinate properly, even someone as strong as him won’t be able to handle us!"

"My beast-girl is an A-rank offense-type. Her beast-soul skill is extremely powerful—but it needs to charge. Once fully charged, it can unleash a soul impact with over ten times the normal power!"

"This is my ultimate trump card. It will definitely take him down."

"You guys stall for ten seconds. Even if you can’t beat him, my skill will finish the job."

He looked around at his companions, determination shining in his eyes:

"Everyone—this is our only chance. If we succeed, we can eliminate that monster."

"Yeah!"

"We’re with you!"

The other students responded in unison.

Though some still had doubts, at this moment, they chose to believe.

They had no choice—if they didn’t unite, whether they could even last five minutes was uncertain!

---

Leon scanned the arena, a faint smile playing on his lips.

"Looks like you’ve already figured out a strategy."

No one answered.

Everyone stared at him like he was a monster.

Their faces tense with fear.

Evelyn leaned closer.

"They’re scared of you, darling."

Leon smirked. "They should be."

Selena’s golden eyes scanned the crowd. "They’re planning something. I can feel it."

"Let them plan. It won’t matter."

Evelyn laughed softly. "You’re so confident."

"Why wouldn’t I be? I have you both."

Selena’s hand found his. "Flatterer."

"Only with you two."

The match began!

WHUMM!

In an instant, streaks of light flared across the arena in perfect unison.

Forty-nine beast-girls activated their beast-soul skills simultaneously.

In that moment, brilliance flooded the stage.

Colorful radiance blazing in every direction.

As if the entire arena was engulfed in a sea of light.

Beams of every color intertwined.

Forming dazzling pillars that shot toward the sky!

Everyone in the venue was stunned.

"What’s happening on Arena 094?!"

The commotion from Arena 094 immediately drew the attention of the entire spectator stands.

Countless eyes turned toward that stage.

Now surrounded by a halo of blazing energy.

"What’s going on? Why are so many beast-soul skills activating at the same time?"

"Now that’s something new!"

"Haha—first time in Aurelia City! Let me see what’s happening!"

Many spectators selected Arena 094 and were shocked by what they saw.

The arena was split into two distinct sides.

On one side—a grinning young man with two stunning beast-girls behind him.

On the other—all forty-nine other teams combined!!

"Are they teaming up against him?!"

"What’s going on—is there some kind of conspiracy?"

"Conspiracy my ass! Forty-nine against one—do you think they’d need such a big setup if they could beat him fair and square?" someone countered.

"Hiss!"

"You’re saying all forty-nine teams are afraid of that one young man? That’s why they’re resorting to such a cheap tactic?"

"No kidding! Look at the situation—it’s forty-nine against one! An ordinary student would have been knocked off the stage by one push!"

"Damn—that actually makes perfect sense."

"That’s insane! Who is this legend that needs such a massive response?!"

"Haven’t you seen the big screen? Aurelia No. 1 High! Martial High Class 8—Leon! He’s already got two—"

"No. 1 High is really stealing the show this year!"

"Insane. Absolutely insane!"

---

At the principal’s table, Lawrence and the other teachers exchanged stunned glances.

"Th-This... truly unprecedented!" one teacher exclaimed.

"Yeah, I’ve never seen so many beast-soul skills activated at once before," another chimed in.

"With all those beast-soul skills coming at him at once—how is he supposed to fight this?" Principal Lawrence found himself worrying for Leon.

Regardless, Leon was a student of his school.

He had already brought tremendous honor to No. 1 High!

And these were only the first three rounds—there were still plenty of their own students on stage.

The remaining seven rounds would be random matches against opponents from across the entire province!

If this trend continued...

"Hiss!"

Principal Lawrence grinned from ear to ear.

Aurelia City might just become famous across the whole province!

Without realizing it, his attitude toward Leon had done a complete 180!

What a hidden gem of a student!

He had not only snatched away the Blackheart family’s "unused" treasure—but she was also incredibly powerful!

Lawrence’s smile was practically splitting his face.

"Hmph! Don’t get too cocky. I doubt this kid can withstand that attack!"

"That’s the combined full-power strike of forty-nine beast-girls!" Principal Douglas’s voice dripped with sour grapes.

Thoroughly, utterly sour.

Why couldn’t a student this ridiculously strong be at their school?!

On the arena, Leon watched the light show with amusement.
