Tech Dominator Starts with Raising Kids
Chapter 912: Gone in a Flash
Once war breaks out, no country in the world will be spared.
The indiscriminate attack of nuclear bombs would reset human civilization to the Iron Age. Even though there are underground nuclear bunkers, restoring the current level of industry won’t be achieved in a short period.
Such a scenario is something no country wants to see, which is why nuclear weapons are also referred to as the ultimate deterrent.
The significance of nuclear weapons is not in their use, but in intimidation.
You may choose not to use them, but you absolutely cannot be without them.
Now humanity is entering the interstellar era—a leap forward that no country wants to be left behind in.
If Xia Country doesn’t bring other countries along, no one knows to what extent they will go.
Whether from the perspective of human civilization’s progress, national level, or Candy Technology, global cooperation is the best outcome.
Don’t think that Xia Country seems to be at a big disadvantage; it’s not the case.
Currently, only Candy Technology can produce space shuttles, and their speed is incredibly slow.
Whoever gets the space shuttle first will naturally have an advantage, and Mo Jingchun is not privy to the transactions conducted with each country regarding this.
But from the fact that when countries place orders, there’s never any objection from above, we can grasp the essence.
Thinking of this, Mo Jingchun still feels a bit pressured. Although the countries haven’t developed their space shuttle yet, they can more or less get inspiration from Candy Technology’s space shuttle. Coupled with international cooperation, foreign versions of the space shuttle being developed is only a matter of time.
From the beginning to the end, Mo Jingchun has never underestimated any country’s research capabilities.
On the flip side, Candy Technology just relies on having a system to guide it and steer the lab researchers in the right direction.
Interestingly, direction is the most crucial aspect of research; otherwise, one might pursue it for a lifetime without any results.
Human civilization has advanced to today because it stands on the shoulders of scientific giants.
As for ordinary people, they do not concern themselves with the predecessors who made mistakes.
“All units, please note, Candy space shuttle lift-off in one minute countdown.”
“All units execute according to the predetermined plan.”
Zero’s stern reminder in the control tower brought Mo Jingchun back to reality.
Just coming to himself, Mo Jingchun saw Li Xuanyu staring at him curiously.
Mo Jingchun touched his face, puzzled, and asked, “Is there something on my face?”
“No. I’m just curious as you were talking, and you seemed to space out.”
It turns out to be so, Mo Jingchun shook his head and smiled, “Just thinking about other issues.”
“Look at the Candy space shuttle, the takeoff process is quite fast. In my view, it’s nothing special; it’s like a regular airplane taking off, just faster and requiring a longer runway—nothing more.”
“How fast could the ground takeoff be?” Li Xuanyu asked indifferently.
At this, Mo Jingchun’s lips curled slightly upward, “Not that fast, just a ‘whoosh’.”
Li Xuanyu was somewhat bewildered, saying, “A ‘whoosh’?”
Sitting at the forefront, close to the glass, Candy glanced back at her sister-in-law, thinking it really was just a ‘whoosh’ moment.
When the Wentian shuttle took off last time, it disappeared in a moment. So this time, she specifically brought a small stool to sit at the front, determined not to blink.
“Ten seconds countdown!”
“…10…”
“…9…”
“…8…”
………
“…2…”
“…1…”
“Lift-off!”
The massive roar, even in the specially soundproofed control tower, was deafening.
The distinct plasma engines of the space shuttle emitted a pale blue glow, completing a hundred-meter acceleration almost instantaneously.
Under Li Xuanyu’s dumbstruck gaze, the Candy shuttle soared into the sky, penetrating the clouds.
“This… this… this…”
“How was it, didn’t lie to you,” Mo Jingchun said with a smile.
Within the control tower, all staff continued to methodically monitor all the data of the Candy shuttle.
“Main engines operating well.”
“…”
Looking at the blue sky and white clouds outside, Li Xuanyu nodded numbly.
“Is that blue light the plasma engines you spoke of?”
Mo Jingchun joked, “Yep, how about joining me in research?”
Research… Li Xuanyu shook her head. When she just started college, her life goal was indeed to follow the research path.
But after experiencing life and death, Li Xuanyu felt it’s enough to live happily.
Moreover, picking up textbooks again now would be quite difficult.
Just like many college students say, high school is the peak of intelligence, and from subconsciously abandoning high school knowledge, everyone’s ‘intelligence’ seems to decline.
She is currently in that state, inherently resistant to using her brain.
“Better forget it; research isn’t suitable for me.”
Then, Candy moved her small stool over and said, “Let’s go, nothing left to watch. It’ll take a few hours for that broken plane to land.”
Saying this, Candy didn’t wait for Li Xuanyu to react and carried her stool out.
Li Xuanyu looked at Mo Jingchun in confusion.
“That’s true, let’s rest first.” He shrugged, feeling somewhat helpless. This kid, calling a cutting-edge technological product like the space shuttle a ‘broken plane’!
All because she can’t pilot it?
Mo Jingchun and the others left, while all the staff in the control tower were still busy; they couldn’t leave their posts until the Candy shuttle safely returned to the ground, all in preparation for dealing with emergencies promptly.
Walking inside the mountain, Candy ran with her neck retracted in a down jacket two sizes too big.
“It’s really cold.”
At this, a sneering Zero caught up, “What’s this temperature? Look at me, just wearing a long sleeve.”
Leading ahead, Candy pouted, “Are we the same? If it’s too cold, I’ll get sick; will you?”
“I won’t.”
“Then there you have it. You can wear a short sleeve in winter without a problem. I can’t.”
“Hey, why are you both running so fast?”
A far-behind Mo Jingchun shouted loudly.
The next second, Candy glanced back at her brother and sister-in-law, chuckled.
“Zero, let’s run together, haha, let them chase us.”
Saying that, Candy picked up her pace. Zero had no choice but to speed up too.
Two minutes later, Mo Jingchun and the rest caught up.
Seeing her brother and sister-in-law again, Candy was dumbfounded.
“Brother, with a car available, why didn’t you call me?”
