Tech Dominator Starts with Raising Kids
Chapter 919: Candy's Troubles
“Oh! So once the backup engine is activated, the space shuttle is not far from being destroyed. Ms. Su, am I understanding this correctly?”
In the next moment, Su Wenyan slammed on the brakes sharply and turned to look at Frederick Perez, whose nose was almost about to crash into the seat back.
“Although I’m not the designer of the space shuttle, I know it’s not as you imagine. Mr. Frederick Perez, you may question the high price of our Candy Technology products, but never doubt the quality of them. If, as you say, activating the backup engine means imminent destruction, then what’s the point of our engineers designing a backup engine?”
Holding back for a long time, Frederick Perez couldn’t help but ask, “Ms. Su, is this how your company treats its customers?”
“Not at all. In all these years, there are indeed very few customers who have questioned the products of Candy Technology.”
Frederick Perez wanted to say something else, but after thinking about it, he chose to keep quiet. Unnecessary arguments are meaningless.
If he angers Su Wenyan, what if he is banned from entering the spaceplane production workshop in the future?
Such a consequence is something he cannot afford, and in serious cases, it might lead to a military tribunal. Indeed, Frederick Perez hasn’t told Su Wenyan or Candy Technology that he’s a “retired” soldier.
The production workshop is large; Su Wenyan and Frederick Perez took a brief ten-minute tour.
Coming out from the other side of the mountain, Frederick Perez’s eyes widened at the sight of a brand new space shuttle marked with a giant lollipop logo.
Below the giant lollipop logo were three big words—”Candy.”
“This is our company’s commercial spacecraft, Candy, currently in the test phase, not open for transporting materials to space.”
“Transporting materials? Why don’t you use the spacecraft to transport guests? As long as you set up a space hotel on Blue Star Orbit, many global tycoons would love to pay for a space experience.”
After hearing this, Su Wenyan smiled and said, “See, if you can think of it, others naturally can too. That’s not our goal.”
In truth, Su Wenyan hadn’t voiced one thought: while there are indeed many global tycoons, how many can withstand the gravitational acceleration of a space shuttle’s launch?
Best not to pass away before even reaching the space hotel. That would be a big problem.
Moreover, while the service industry does make money, where’s the profit without risk in selling space shuttles compared to Candy Technology?
Looking at the big guy in front of him, Frederick Perez asked eagerly, “Can we tour inside the space shuttle?”
Su Wenyan shook her head, “I’m afraid not. These engineers won’t let us in, and even I have never been inside. We can only stand here and look from afar.”
“That’s really unfortunate.” Frederick Perez showed regret. Regarding the internal structure of the space shuttle, besides Candy Technology and the Xia Country, no other country has obtained the internal structure map of the space shuttle.
“We should leave.”
After departing from Anyang Base by car, on the way back to the county hotel, Frederick Perez was the first to report his observations in the production workshop in the most detailed language to his country.
Frederick Perez believed that through professional personnel hand-drawing, they could roughly reconstruct the general layout of the production workshop based on his verbal descriptions.
There might be many disparities, but it doesn’t matter. According to Su Wenyan, there’s an opportunity every week to enter the spaceplane production workshop to check the production progress.
After reporting, through the rearview mirror, the observing secretary soberly said:
“Sir, why did Candy Technology suddenly open the spaceplane production workshop to us? They prohibited non-insiders from observing the spacecraft rocket closely back then.”
“That’s also what I’m puzzled about.” Frederick Perez shook his head.
“And don’t you think the workers renovating that building when we went this morning were behaving strangely?”
“Forget it, as an old Xia saying goes, I just learned, ‘when water comes, cover it with earth; when soldiers come, counter them with generals.'”
Upon hearing this, the secretary’s lips twitched, reminding him, “Sir, it’s actually ‘when soldiers come, counter them with generals; when water comes, cover it with earth.’ Meaning to adapt and deal with situations flexibly as they arise.”
For a while, the car atmosphere was somewhat quiet.
A hundred miles away, Mo Jingchun, who intercepted Frederick Perez’s satellite communication with the Beautiful Country, just smiled after listening to their conversation, not saying a word.
Regarding the internal structure of the mountain, once outsiders enter, it’s merely a matter of time before it leaks, and Mo Jingchun doesn’t care about that.
These people, could they directly steal all the production equipment? Since they can’t steal it, why should Mo Jingchun be worried?
Moreover, if Mo Jingchun wishes, the layout in the mountain could change drastically within a day.
In the laboratory, Mo Jingchun casually waved, and the holographic projection before him instantly closed.
“Just conduct normal monitoring; without anything unusual, don’t report to me.”
“No problem, boss. You can focus on configuring the Genetic Optimization Liquid without disturbances. I’ve already activated the do-not-disturb mode for you.”
In the following month, Mo Jingchun spent almost every day in the private laboratory; occasionally, Candy would have to wait for Mo Jingchun after finishing school.
On Friday afternoon, an early dismissal brought Candy, munching on a red apple, into her brother’s office, only to find it empty.
Seeing Little Grey and Bun sprawled idly on the floor, Candy frowned, then turned to the adjacent presidential office.
“Why has my brother been so busy lately, not seeing him at home every day? And Xia, where has she gone too?”
Just as Candy stepped into the presidential office, she halted abruptly, ready to turn tail and run.
Without warning, as Candy turned to leave, she was stopped by two squealing kids.
That enthusiastic voice made Candy have a headache.
“Candy, Candy, are you here to play with us?”
“Yes, yes, are you here to play with us?”
Still holding an apple half-eaten, Candy looked down at Wenjing and Wenhan clinging to each thigh. She sighed deeply.
How did these two little ones end up in the office today?
There’s no way to escape, so troubling.
Seeing Candy’s face full of distress, everyone in the presidential office couldn’t help but chuckle.
