Snow bounded up the porch steps, pushing open the newly reinforced sliding doors.

The interior of the main room was immaculate. The splintered floorboards were gone, replaced by seamless, dark-stained bamboo that felt incredibly solid underfoot. The artisans had even left a finalized manifest of the magical wards and structural enhancements resting on the low mahogany table.

But as she set the parchment down, a sudden, heavy scent washed over her.

It was a deep, musky fragrance, thick with the aroma of spiced honey, crushed pine, and an incredibly rich, sweet undertone that immediately made the air feel suffocatingly warm.

Snow inhaled, her highly tuned, Level 51 senses instantly categorizing the botanical profile. Her eyes widened, and a furious, deep crimson blush exploded across her cheeks, rushing all the way down to her collarbones.

"They... they sealed the wood," Snow stammered, her voice suddenly tight, her heart beginning to hammer a frantic rhythm against her ribs.

Leon stepped into the room behind her, easily picking up the scent. His biological framework was entirely immune to toxins, poisons, and environmental hazards, but this was not a poison. It was a naturally occurring, highly concentrated resin harvested from the deepest crystalline forests, historically used by the Dragonkin to bless the homes of newly bonded mates.

"It is the resin of the Lustrous Ember-Pine," Leon noted, his voice dropping to a low, resonant rumble that seemed to vibrate the very floorboards.

He didn’t need to ask what it did. He could already feel the heavy, intoxicating warmth pooling low in his stomach. The sap was a potent, naturally occurring aphrodisiac, designed to elevate the sensory receptors and lower the body’s natural inhibitors. For a Steadfast entity, it was merely a pleasant, stimulating warmth.

But for Snow, whose human biology was currently running on the hyper-accelerated overdrive of a recent level-up, the effects were immediate and devastating.

She turned to face him, her breath coming in short, shallow gasps. The blush on her face was feverish, her crystalline blue eyes dilated and dark with a sudden, overwhelming hunger. She dropped her hands to her sides, her fingers twitching as the heavy, sweet scent flooded her nervous system.

"Leon," Snow whispered, her voice incredibly fragile, trembling with a raw, unadulterated need. "The Elder... he definitely knows we’re married."

Leon’s icy blue and golden eyes darkened into a look of absolute, predatory intent. He reached up, slowly unclasping the heavy, gold-embroidered mantle from his shoulders, letting the shadow-silk pool onto the immaculate floorboards.

"It seems the village wishes to ensure our complete relaxation," Leon murmured, stepping slowly toward her.

Snow didn’t back away. She closed the distance, practically throwing herself against his chest. Her hands flew up to grip his broad shoulders, her fingers digging frantically into the dark fabric of his draconic garb. She tilted her head back, offering herself to him with complete, desperate surrender.

Leon wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her flush against his heavily muscled frame. He leaned down, capturing her lips in a deep, possessing kiss.

Snow let out a high, breathy moan directly into his mouth. The kiss was not gentle; it was a violent collision of heat and adrenaline. The Ember-Pine resin had entirely stripped away her usual, playful bravado, leaving only the raw, consuming desire of a woman entirely obsessed with the god holding her. She tasted like sweet wind and desperate heat, her tongue eagerly meeting his.

Leon’s large, calloused hands slid down the smooth curve of her back, tracing the incredibly toned muscles she had developed over the past few days of relentless combat. He could feel the sheer, physical density of her Level 51 attributes beneath her skin, the terrifying vitality of an apex predator wrapped in a flawless, beautiful shell.

He broke the kiss, trailing his lips down her jawline to press open-mouthed, burning kisses against the frantic pulse point at the base of her throat.

Snow’s head fell back, her white braid coming undone as she thrashed against him. "Ah... baby, please. It’s so hot. My skin is burning."

She wasn’t exaggerating. The combination of the ambient aphrodisiac and her elevated stats made every single point of contact feel like a localized electrical shock. When Leon’s hand slid under the hem of her black leather crop top, his calloused palm brushing against her bare stomach, she physically jolted, her hips instinctively grinding forward against his heavily armored thigh.

Leon groaned, a low, guttural sound of raw approval. He smoothly engaged his terrifying physical strength, sweeping one arm under her knees and lifting her effortlessly off the floor.

Snow wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her flushed face in the crook of his shoulder, her breathing ragged and heavy.

He carried her effortlessly through the short hallway, kicking the sliding door of the master bedroom open. The amber light of the bioluminescent lanterns outside filtered softly through the paper windows, casting long, intimate shadows across the woven silk sheets of their large bed.

Leon laid her down gently on the cool silk. The contrast of the fabric against her feverish, overheated skin made her writhe, her athletic thighs shifting restlessly as she looked up at him.

He stood over her, his dual-colored eyes burning with a dark, consuming fire. He didn’t rush. He slowly reached down to the clasps of his draconic garb, his gaze never leaving her beautiful, desperate face.

Snow couldn’t wait. The heavy scent of the Ember-Pine was driving her absolutely insane.

Her trembling hands reached for the heavy silver buckles of her black leather crop top. With a sharp, frantic tug, she undid the clasps, pushing the thick fabric off her shoulders and letting it fall away, completely exposing her flawless, perfectly toned chest to the cool evening air.

She arched her back off the silk pillows, her blue eyes dark with anticipation, her breath catching in her throat as she waited for Leon to claim what was his.
