Chapter 1535: Chapter 1534: Entertaining the Former Boss

"If I were you, I’d have used my powers long ago to carve out my own empire. You could have anything you want, so why listen to other people and play the role of someone else’s subordinate..."

"With skills like yours, plus all these Special Ability Users you’ve got with you, wealth and power are basically at your fingertips. There are plenty of people who’d be dying to serve you."

"You could easily create your own country."

Bobby Emerson muttered as he spoke, while secretly studying Shi Yunshen’s expression.

He had obviously noticed it.

Among the people guarding him, Shi Yunshen was the one in charge, and was probably the most powerful Superpower User on this plane besides Number Seven.

And the Superpower Users guarding them all seemed to be Shi Yunshen’s people.

As long as he could talk Shi Yunshen into it, he might actually help him escape.

This was his only chance.

But after listening, Shi Yunshen just let out a cold snort.

He looked at him like he was a complete dumbass, his tone full of disdain and sarcasm: "You think everyone wants to be like you, a rat that people want to stomp to death whenever they see it?"

Shi Yunshen did understand the principle of "a man’s wealth is his own ruin."

They had abilities that surpassed ordinary people, unexplainable by science. If they were just wandering around out there, never mind what the state might do to them—out in the wild, how many people do you think would be eyeing them?

Besides, it wasn’t like they’d volunteered to be modified. Sure, they got some benefits out of it, but what their memories carried far more of was pain and inconvenience.

Their modification was completely different from Yan Yan’s.

Back then the technology wasn’t mature, so they had to run all kinds of experimental tests on them. Out of hundreds of children, maybe one would survive the process.

On top of that, the organization never treated them like human beings.

They were all lab rats.

Shi Yunshen would rather die than choose to keep obeying that organization, much less feel grateful.

He and Yun Qiluo, along with all the Special Ability Users here, felt the same way about that organization—utter, bone-deep hatred.

"Besides, what’s so bad about joining a state department?" Shi Yunshen let out a mocking laugh. "Our department doesn’t just pay well with great benefits—our working hours are flexible, our social status is high, and in the Imperial City they assign us housing and cars based on our needs."

"Do you have any idea how insane the housing prices in the Imperial City are?"

The other Special Ability Users nearby also heard and cut in:

"And in our line of work we get the full package—five insurances and one housing fund. Your crappy organization probably doesn’t even know what that is, right?"

"Your organization makes its Special Ability Users stay on call 24/7. Forget weekends, you don’t even have proper days off. It’s even more deranged than 996. You really think people want to stay?"

"Exactly. When I was being enslaved by you guys, I was already questioning the meaning of life!"

"Now that I’ve changed jobs, I finally know what a beautiful world looks like. I love working!"

They started showing off one after another.

Bobby Emerson’s face went black like the bottom of a pot; he couldn’t squeeze out a single word.

Once Shi Yunshen felt they’d said enough, he waved his hand. "Alright, that’s enough, know when to stop. He was still our former Boss after all, at least show a little courtesy."

He glanced at some of the interrogation tools stored in the cabin, and made a very friendly suggestion:

"We’re all bored anyway, so why don’t we have a little fun and properly entertain our former Boss?"

The Special Ability Users immediately got what he meant; their eyes lit up as they all walked over.

Bobby Emerson realized something was wrong and started struggling. "What are you doing? What are you going to do... ah!"

Soon, all kinds of screams of agony echoed through the cabin.
