The heater was on in the living room, and the floor?to?ceiling windows shut out the cold from outside.

Luo Luo, Yan Yan, and Shi Yunshen were all called into the room to sit.

Because they’d had New Year’s Eve dinner early, they’d already finished eating, and the sky had only just turned dark.

The living room was brightly lit. Luo Luo sat on the sofa munching on little cookies, while Yun Su and the house’s butler went to the kitchen to bring them ginger tea.

She had just walked out when she heard Shi Yunshen say:

"Have you set a date for your engagement banquet yet?"

Yan Yan was handling all of that. Luo Luo only had to pick the style and design she liked; she didn’t know anything else.

She shook her head. "No idea yet."

Yun Su’s hand froze at once. After quite a while, she walked out from the back, her expression unchanged as she first handed the ginger tea to each of them.

"Drink some to warm you up."

Then she looked at Yan Yan and said, "You two are getting married?"

Her tone clearly carried shock.

The moment those words came out, the living room immediately fell quiet.

Yan Yan hadn’t yet found a chance to talk to Yun Su and Song Hanyi about preparing the engagement banquet, because he still needed to formally propose; he’d consulted professionals, and there were quite a lot of betrothal rituals he had to go through.

He’d originally planned to wait until after the New Year to find an opportunity to bring it up.

Now that it was suddenly exposed, he was completely unprepared. Even a man used to storms and waves was stunned for a moment.

He turned his head and saw Shi Yunshen looking smug.

Clearly, he’d done it on purpose.

She stood up and walked away, making Luo Luo unconsciously nervous, with the feeling of having done something bad and getting caught by the adults.

She cautiously glanced at Yan Yan and whispered, "Beautiful woman, what do we do now?"

Yan Yan reached out and took her small hand, giving it a squeeze, and said in a low voice, "Don’t be scared."

He didn’t have any experience with this either, but he’d clearly startled his future mother?in?law.

This was all because of that dog Shi Yunshen.
