Chapter 138: Chapter 122: The Best Mechanism to Counter One-Hit Kills!
As the roaring echoed, everything at the End of the Red Land was instantly shrouded in a thin layer of red, as if the entire world had been covered in a crimson veil. Chilling killing intent and a terrifying aura surged within the haze.
Illuminated by the crimson glow, a blurry red silhouette quietly appeared above the grand hall. He slowly raised a hand.
"SNAP!"
Accompanied by a crisp snap of the fingers, the fallen corpse of the demonized Red Cloud City Lord instantly turned into a pool of bloody water, converging toward the silhouette at an extreme speed and finally filling out the outline with clarity.
It was a figure with disheveled red hair, wearing crimson Battle Armor.
The figure slowly descended from the air. The moment His feet touched the ground, the entire floor of the grand hall transformed into a bottomless pool of blood. The splashing, turbulent blood dyed everything inside the hall a heart-palpitating crimson.
Along with the incredibly thick stench of blood that washed over Yu Zhun was a monstrous Demon’s Might!
"Yu Zhun..." Looking at the silent, solemn-faced Yu Zhun before Him, the Deep Red Demon Lord’s lips curled into a mocking smile.
"I told you.
"My things are not so easily taken."
"Guild Master, we..." Anger surfaced in the eyes of Su Hong and the other guild members. They strode forward, but were stopped by Yu Zhun raising his hand.
"Fall back." Yu Zhun looked at the crowd behind him who revealed worried expressions. "His target is me. You guys leave this place first."
Su Hong wanted to say something more, but was pulled back by Ji Xiaoyu’s hand.
"Please be careful." Ji Xiaoyu looked deeply at Yu Zhun. "We’ll wait for you outside the hall doors."
Once Yu Zhun gave a slight nod, she dragged the other reluctant members and forcibly left the grand hall.
"THUD!"
As the hall doors closed once more, Su Hong looked at Ji Xiaoyu, his expression full of confusion. "Why didn’t we stay to help the Guild Master?"
"What if our staying isn’t a help, but a hindrance?" Ji Xiaoyu calmly met Su Hong’s gaze and spoke softly. "No one knows what kind of Mechanism the Deep Red Demon Lord possesses this time.
"What if our presence triggers a certain skill’s Mechanism, putting the Guild Master in even greater danger?"
"The Guild Master’s strength shouldn’t be that much higher than ours, right?" Salas couldn’t help but interject. "Right now, we all have +20 Red Equipment and are all First Turn players. Even if our talents are slightly inferior, we wouldn’t be dead weight!"
"No." Ji Xiaoyu shook her head slightly. "Didn’t you notice? Immediately after completing his class advancement, the Guild Master changed his Equipment.
"Although the new Equipment was also disguised so its quality couldn’t be seen, what kind of Equipment would make the Guild Master discard his existing +20 Red Equipment to equip it right away?
"If I’m not mistaken, it should be a set of Legendary Equipment, which is a quality above Red Equipment."
Legendary Equipment...
Everyone fell silent at the same time. They were clearly trying their best to follow in the Guild Master’s footsteps, but why did the distance between them seem to be growing further and further?
Su Hong took a deep breath, gradually calming down. "Vice Guild Master, are we just going to stand here, then?"
"No." Ji Xiaoyu tightly gripped her Communication Button. "Prepare for battle and wait for the Guild Master’s instructions.
"If he truly needs our help...
"That is when we will fight alongside him."
***
"How truly pitiful." With only Yu Zhun and the Deep Red Demon Lord remaining in the grand hall, the latter looked at Yu Zhun with a teasing gaze. "It seems your companions are abandoning you."
Having grown somewhat accustomed to bearing the other party’s Demon’s Might over a long period, Yu Zhun slowly straightened his hunched back. Hearing this, he let out a chuckle.
"What?
"Did you just send down a trash-talking clone this time?"
The Deep Red Demon Lord’s expression froze, a trace of gloom flashing through His eyes.
"Yu Zhun, do you have any idea how much of a loss you’ve caused me?"
"No, but I don’t mind hearing you talk about it." Yu Zhun stretched his body, which was slightly sore from the heavy pressure, and spoke in a relaxed tone. "To be honest, I’m quite curious."
The Deep Red Demon Lord opened His mouth, but recalling how His ambiguous mention of the word "punishment" during their last meeting had allowed Yu Zhun to follow the clues and figure out His background, He silently closed His mouth again.
But in that silence, the Deep Red Demon Lord’s gaze grew increasingly ferocious.
A tiny Red Moon Tide Dungeon did not actually contain much of His Origin Power. It was not even one percent of His power at His peak.
However, His punishment by the Divine Demon Palace was already a conspiracy orchestrated by His mortal enemy. Yu Zhun’s perfect clear of the Red Moon Tide happened to help that mortal enemy complete the final link in the conspiracy.
Even a power gap of less than one percent would be drastically magnified in front of existences at His level.
After His punishment ended, the Deep Red Demon Lord unsurprisingly suffered a massive loss at the hands of the mortal enemy who had originally been evenly matched with Him. The resulting losses had already exceeded the value of dozens of Red Moon Tide Dungeons.
And this was the primary reason why the Deep Red Demon Lord incidentally held such a grudge against Yu Zhun.
He was never a good-natured individual to begin with, otherwise He would not have chosen to walk the path of a Demon. Any grudge had to be avenged.
Seeing the Deep Red Demon Lord stay silent, Yu Zhun had no intention of remaining silent himself. Since the other party hadn’t even revealed His health bar yet, he didn’t even have a chance to kill Him.
Being able to take this opportunity to learn some things about the level of a God wasn’t half bad.
"Speaking of which, there’s another thing I’m very curious about." Yu Zhun looked at the Deep Red Demon Lord, revealing an inquiring expression. "Interfering in a First Turn trial must cost you quite a heavy price, right?
"If I manage to kill you again...
"Wouldn’t your losses be even greater?"
