The Adventures of Hulim
Chapter 533 The Tavern Brawl Incident
Just as Armen stood stunned and confused that the man being chased for debt was his own senior brother,
Crack!
Someone in the crowd threw a wine glass, hitting the lead debt collector square on the head.
“Damn you! Who did that?!”
The man clutched his head and spun around furiously.
But the next second, he took a cheap shot to the stomach, a fist driving into his gut.
“Ugh……”
The full-scale brawl erupted in an instant.
Before long, the entire tavern descended into chaos.
The scene was so chaotic that the debt collectors took constant cheap shots, unable to tell who was attacking them—until they were buried under a storm of fists and feet……
Bang!
With a deafening crash, several bruised, twitching men were thrown out of the tavern’s shattered door onto the street.
No one could recognize them as the debt collectors from just moments before……
About half an hour later,
the massive tavern brawl finally died down.
The losers were gone—either lying unconscious on the floor or limping away supporting each other. The victors enjoyed the suddenly spacious room.
“My my, would you look at that.”
The tavern’s waitress stared at the smashed door and spoke calmly.
“This one can’t be fixed~. Guess I’ll have to replace it. Hm—”
The waitress looked left, then right.
She finally fixed her gaze on the blacksmith’s shop across the way.
She skipped over, and before the blacksmiths’ shocked, confused eyes, grabbed their door—frame and all—and tore it off.
She returned to the tavern with her prize as if nothing had happened.
A few heavy punches later, a lopsided new door was installed.
“Perfect~!”
The waitress wiped imaginary sweat from her forehead.
She stepped over the bodies lying at the door and walked inside with a satisfied smile……
Inside the tavern.
“Senior Monroe! Senior Luigi! What a coincidence to meet you here!”

Armen exclaimed excitedly.
As victors’ privilege,
Armen and three others claimed a table all to themselves.
“Calm down, Armen. First tavern brawl, right? It’s thrilling, but don’t get too carried away. This is Lore Kling—our companion.”
“Ah, hello, Miss Lore.”
“Hi. I’ve heard about you from that mutt. You’re the youngest disciple of the Sword Saint, right?”
“Haha, really? Senior Luigi talked about me? How embarrassing.”
“Ahem…… He pestered me nonstop under the excuse of ‘gathering intel’, so I told her.”
“Hah?! Quit lying! Who’d do that?!”
“……”
Clang!
Suddenly, four wooden mugs slammed down on their table.
The waitress, who’d appeared out of nowhere, smiled and looked around at them.
Then she fixed her eyes on Monroe.
“Your bill, please. Drinks, table damage, property damage, cleaning fee—total of 553,456 Kohl!”
“……”
The table fell dead silent.
Monroe’s right hand trembled slightly as he lifted the clear, water-like Black Brew. He took a tiny sip.
His mouth twitching, he forced a smile:
“Can I pay next time?”
Crack!
The wooden tray in the waitress’s hand was ripped clean open.
A faint killing intent blanketed the table.
“Uh-oh~?”
The waitress stared at Monroe with a dangerously sweet smile.
“I must have misheard you just now~.
Mr. Monroe…… you didn’t just ask for credit, did you~?”
Cold sweat dripped down all four of their foreheads.
“Uh-oh, Mr. Monroe. You really meant credit~?”
The dangerous aura grew thicker. Not one of the nearby victors dared make a sound—they buried their heads, terrified of being caught in the crossfire.
“Um……”
Just then, Armen carefully took off a bracelet-type magical artifact.
“C-Can this cover the bill?”
“……”
The tense atmosphere froze for a split second.
Whoosh!
Before anyone could react, the bracelet was in the waitress’s hand.
She eyed it up and down, then opened her mouth, revealing pearly white teeth.
“Wait, hold on?!”
Crunch!
Before Armen could stop her, the priceless bracelet had a chip bitten out of it.
Aaaaaah—!!!
Armen’s face paled in terror.
Sh-She bit it?!
That’s a high-grade magical artifact! With just her teeth……
As Armen gaped, the waitress’s eyes lit up.
“Good stuff—!”
She wiped the saliva off the bracelet on her clothes, then stuffed it into her chest.
Her expression shifted instantly, and she beamed brightly:
“My my! I didn’t know I had a wealthy guest. My apologies for earlier! I hope I didn’t frighten you~!”
“N-No.”
“Haha, wonderful! Feel free to ask for anything you need, sir. We have everything here!”
“Uh, well……”
Armen forced a weak smile.
“Could I have some Gudgeon Chicken Stew? And Popom Porridge if you have it. Oh…… you don’t have to if you don’t, anything is fine!”
“Haha, you’re too funny! I told you we have everything. If I don’t have it, I’ll go catch it right now! Any other requests?”
Armen was surprised.
He hadn’t expected the dangerous waitress to turn so polite after getting paid, and relaxed a little.
Completely unaware that Monroe and the others still had their heads down, he smiled and said:
“Could you replace this drink for me?”
Crack!
Two corners of the wooden tray were suddenly crushed.
The atmosphere froze solid.
The waitress stared at Armen with a sweet smile.
“Sir…… is there something wrong with our drink~?”
“Uh, well……”
Armen looked down at the clear, water-like Black Brew—a fly was swimming in it.
“……”
Everyone knew Black Brew was supposed to be black.
“Are you…… dissatisfied with our authentic, one-and-only Black Brew~?”
“……No complaints.”
“My my~!”
The frozen atmosphere vanished in an instant.
“You have excellent taste! One moment, your food will be right up~!”
With that, the brightly smiling waitress skipped away.
After a long silence,
Armen finally lifted his head.
“You guys drink here regularly?”
“Well…… it’s cheap.” Monroe picked up his mug casually and gulped down the so-called Black Brew.
“Ah~!”
He set the mug down happily.
“Don’t worry about it! Ignore the drink itself, and it’s fine! Oh, thanks for covering the tab!”
“……?”
Armen stared at him doubtfully.
Was the drink really okay?
“Don’t force it.”
Luigi spoke up.
“Senior Monroe’s used to cheap swill, so he doesn’t notice. You don’t have to be like him.”
“Is that so…… Then I won’t drink it.”
Armen quietly pushed his mug away.
But Luigi—and even Lore Kling—picked up their mugs and drank.
“……”
