The Anomaly Beyond The System

Chapter 281 More…! Let’s fight more…!

"Curious... are you all going to fight against me at the same time?"

Lucian tilted his head slightly, looking around at the people who had gathered.

"Hah...! Demon, you overestimate yourself. Just the people under God are enough to eradicate your entire existence."

The vampires standing nearby sneered at one of the Church members’ words but didn’t argue under the Lady’s orders.

The werewolves weren’t particularly interested in the exchange, but as they saw one of their own lying dead on the ground, their expressions gradually twisted into hatred.

"You fucking leech! How dare you kill our friend?!"

"You’ll pay for that!"

All five werewolves snarled in unison, and before anyone could say another word, they rushed towards Lucian.

And seeing them coming towards him, Lucian’s lips split into a faint smile—a smile that, for some reason, sent a shiver down the vampires’ spines.

Whoosh!

Lucian immediately dodged the heavy axe coming towards him, missing it by a narrow margin before twisting his body and preparing to punch the man’s face.

However, before his fist could connect, another werewolf suddenly appeared beside him, his claws slashing towards Lucian’s neck.

"Heh."

Clank!

The werewolf’s eyes widened as a blade suddenly appeared out of thin air just in time to block the incoming claws.

And at the same time...

While his other hand remained occupied with the weapon, a short axe appeared in his free hand, and Lucian swung without hesitation, the sharp edge striking the first werewolf directly in the face.

"AAGGHHHHHH...!!!"

The man let out a pained, horrified scream, staggering backwards as he clutched his large axe tightly before swinging it rashly.

Lucian moved unnaturally, and, storing his own short axe, grabbed the long handle of the werewolf’s large axe.

Then, using the momentum of the attack, he twisted his entire body upside down, his movements smooth like a gymnast’s.

The werewolf barely had time to understand what was happening.

Slice!

A sharp flash passed through the air.

In the next instant, his head separated from his shoulders, rolling across the ground before coming to a stop beside his fallen axe.

His headless body remained standing for a fraction of a second before collapsing heavily onto the ground.

Lucian landed smoothly, barely sparing the bloody corpse a glance.

"...!"

Another set of claws slashed towards his face, causing him to pull his face backwards, and the battle continued.

Minutes passed in a blur as the sounds of metal and punches resounded before... another head fell.

While fighting against the werewolves, who grew increasingly agitated as Lucian continued killing their brethren, Lucian seemed to enjoy himself even more.

The Church members, who had initially remained at a distance, watching the werewolves surround Lucian, eventually decided to join in as well.

"Hiss...!"

Lucian let out a faint hiss as a sword grazed his arm, though the pain didn’t come from the sword but from the golden light shimmering along the blade.

The moment it touched his skin, the flesh began to sizzle faintly, as though something were burning him from the inside. Though... the effect didn’t last long, and within a couple of seconds, the burning sensation subsided, and his wound healed.

The priest barely had time to process what he had witnessed, but despite the shock, he quickly launched another attack alongside his companions.

The werewolves followed suit.

Slowly but surely, they were gaining the upper hand, and as if to prove it—

Slice!

One of the priest’s blades, enveloped in holy light, cut cleanly through Lucian’s arm, tearing through part of his suit as well, which had turned into tatters after enduring so many attacks.

The severed limb fell to the ground, and Lucian raised a brow in surprise.

"Looks like it’s difficult to fight in a group."

He muttered quietly, yet despite losing an arm, he shifted his grip on the dead werewolf’s large axe and continued attacking with his remaining hand.

"His hand is now severed! All we have to—"

The priest’s words abruptly stopped, and everyone’s eyes widened.

The severed arm was already regenerating.

Bones began reconstructing from the stump, followed by muscles, tendons and flesh. Within moments, the missing limb had been restored completely, with only a few burning marks remaining... taking longer to regenerate.

"Hm...? Did the regeneration slow down...?" Lucian couldn’t help but mutter, and the moment he looked at the priests’ faces, he saw disbelief in their eyes.

"H-How did he heal that?"

"Did you not imbue your sword with holy affinity?"

"I did—AAAHHH!!!"

The priest’s question turned into a pain-curdling scream as Lucian grabbed him like a ragdoll and hurled him directly into the waiting claws of the werewolf.

"Human! Get away. We’re going to kill him!"

[They look really angry.] Akasha muttered softly inside his mind.

"Yeah..."

Even after seeing their agitation and their increasing hatred towards him, which caused them to attack him even more aggressively, Lucian simply became more and more excited.

A claw pierced through his shoulder... then regenerated.

An axe landed directly on his abdomen, almost slicing him in half, but he took that same axe and attacked, and the injury... regenerated again.

He began swinging his axe more efficiently, choosing his angles carefully and striking with precision while barely giving them a chance to dodge.

He even used his claws, which had become much sharper, allowing him to pierce through them much more smoothly after gaining the new [Sharp Claws] trait.

And his senses... they were already heightened beneath the night sky.

Perhaps it was because there wasn’t a full moon tonight that the werewolves weren’t transforming into their beast forms, something he had learnt about.

"For a wolf, you’re kind of pathetic! You fight more like a dog!"

Lucian laughed as he cleaved the heavy axe in a vicious arc, cutting through a werewolf’s abdomen and tearing his body into two halves, an upper and a lower.

Blood soaked his hands and weapons, the metallic smell spreading around them.

The priest standing behind the werewolf’s body barely had enough time to react.

His eyes widened as he hurriedly tried to summon a holy shield.

But before he could—

SPLCH—!!!

Blood spurted out in massive amounts as his body was sliced into two vertical halves.

"Hahahahaha!! More...! Let’s fight more...!"

His blood-red eyes gleamed beneath the night sky.

Blood covered his face, staining his cheeks and dripping from his chin. His lips stretched into a bloody, maniacal grin as he turned towards the remaining enemies.

All of them shivered faintly under that gaze, and even the werewolves, despite their immense hatred, couldn’t help but gulp nervously.

Lucian took a step forward, making them instinctively tense.

But just as he was about to move—

"Pretty boy... you should always look around you."

Lucian’s pupils shrank, but even before he had time to react—

BOOOOM!
