Acting promptly, Ru Xue and Ye Liang took Feng Luo and borrowed a fishing boat from a fisherman to reach Gourd Island.

As a result, on Gourd Island, they ran directly into Chu Ge and the others.

"Chu Ge, you truly have foresight. How did you know they would come straight to Gourd Island?" the Prince asked curiously.

"Because of time."

Chu Ge glanced at Ye Liang, "Ye Liang and I arrived around the same time, and today is the last day. If she doesn’t act now, she’ll miss her chance."

The Old Gang Leader couldn’t help but reproach from the side, "Chu Ge, why didn’t you mention this earlier?"

Chu Ge looked innocent; he had only just remembered.

The Old Gang Leader felt tender-hearted seeing Feng Luo’s wrists marred with red from the ropes.

"Let her go? Haha, she’s now our lifeline; how could we possibly release her?" Ye Liang pressed a dagger against Feng Luo’s neck, the cold blade grazing her throat, subtly drawing blood.

Seeing this, the Old Gang Leader hurriedly shouted, "Don’t do anything rash! We can talk this out, talk this out."

"Have your people retreat from Gourd Island," Ye Liang said coldly.

She threatened, slowly stepping forward with Feng Luo, "Make your people withdraw, or the knife in my hand won’t spare anyone!"

The Old Gang Leader turned to look at the Prince, nervous, "Prince, shall we have them withdraw?"

The Prince glared fiercely at Ye Liang, lips tightly sealed, "You can’t escape, stop resisting futilely!"

"Even if we die, we’ll take someone down with us. You know how important Feng Luo is to you, I don’t need to elaborate. I’ll only give you a few minutes to consider. If you don’t withdraw the people, I’ll kill her right away!"

Ye Liang spoke with renewed force.

Ru Xue looked at the Prince with cold eyes, without a trace of past affection.

After a moment, the Prince lightly raised his hand, "Everyone, withdraw."

The soldiers immediately retreated to the boats, leaving only a few of them on Gourd Island.

Chu Ge said calmly, "Is that enough now?"

"Take us to the Time-Space Gate!"

Ye Liang continued, "Chu Ge, I know what you’re thinking. I admit the two of us together are no match for you, but don’t forget, without Feng Luo’s help, you won’t be able to return either."

Chu Ge smiled faintly, "Since you know, why did you harm Feng Luo? I need her help, and so do you. Since we both need her, why not make a deal?"

"A deal?" Ye Liang sneered, "You’re overthinking it. There can’t be a deal between us; our mission is to kill you."

"Who sent you? Wei Yongxiang?"

Ye Liang was taken aback, "How do you know our Old Palace Master’s name!"

The Old Gang Leader pressed his lips tightly, evidently seeing the truth; Wei Yongxiang truly has a persistent scheme!

"But you’re wrong; we weren’t sent by the Old Palace Master! We were sent by the Palace Master. Chu Ge, this isn’t anyone else’s fault; if you have to blame anyone, blame yourself. Your prominence withers, and you can only impede the Palace Master’s plans!"

Chu Ge was silent for a moment, unsure of who this Palace Master was or whose path he was blocking.

"Nangong Yunxi."

Ye Liang seemed to have guessed Chu Ge’s confusion, "This name shouldn’t be unfamiliar to you; Nangong Yunxi is our new Palace Master and also an illegitimate child of the Nangong Family."

"What’s the purpose?" Chu Ge asked, "Since you’re attempting to kill me, shouldn’t you let me die knowing why?"

"Vengeance, and to seize the Nangong Family’s wealth!"

"Enough! Why waste time talking? If we don’t leave now, time will run out!"

Ru Xue huffed beside, "Chu Ge, we’ve said what needs to be said. Now, take us to find the Time-Space Gate. If you play tricks, we’ll perish together right here!"

The Old Gang Leader was genuinely worried for Feng Luo; if anything happened to her, not only would the Time-Space Gate be at risk, but even Daye Country wouldn’t survive.

"I’ll take you."

Just when the Old Gang Leader was about to seek help, Chu Ge spoke up, "I’ll take you to find the Time-Space Gate."

And so, Chu Ge led Ye Liang and the others to the entrance of the Time-Space Gate, giving the Old Gang Leader a meaningful look.

The Old Gang Leader immediately understood; although there were no obvious traps inside, getting through wasn’t simple. Fortunately, they had visited once before and knew the secrets within.

"There are traps inside; we’ll scout ahead for you."

The Old Gang Leader said.

"Wait, one of you in front, one behind."

Ye Liang worried they might play tricks and separated them.

Chu Ge sneered, "I’ll stay behind."

They journeyed to the Time-Space Gate without incident.

Finally seeing the Time-Space Gate, Ru Xue and Ye Liang exchanged glances. Ye Liang frowned and asked, "Are you sure you’re not deceiving me?"
