The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1341 - 1281: Seeing the Little Ones
Sileria City,
Sienna Johnson stepped off the private jet, landing on the ground of Sileria City, and suddenly felt a twinge of apprehension about returning to her homeland.
She had been away from the children for so long. Did Curly resent her? Did the twins still remember her?
"Madam!" Sally knew she was back and came to pick her up personally.
As Sienna approached Sally, she looked her up and down. Sally, normally composed and emotionless, had tears in her eyes, looking somewhat excited.
"Sally, are you alright?"
Sally said, "I’m very well, and the children are great. They all miss you a lot."
Sienna took a deep breath. The air in Sileria City wasn’t as good as Abyanabad, where the air was sweet and not as muddled as in Sileria City. Yet, being here gave her a strange feeling of peace and reassurance.
"Let’s go, Sally. I want to see the children now."
"Yes, Madam."
Sally directed the others to unload the plane while she drove Sienna back to the Johnson Family home.
Sienna sat in the back seat, gazing out the window at the familiar scenery, feeling truly wonderful.
Sally drove quickly, and before Sienna could fully appreciate the street view, they had arrived at the Johnson Family residence.
Sally stopped the car, went to Sienna’s side, and opened the door, "Madam, we’re here."
Sienna stepped out, straightening up and looking at her home.
It was winter again in Sileria City.
There had just been a snowfall, and beneath the osmanthus tree was a little snowman. Sienna recognized the hat on the snowman’s head as Curly’s.
"Is this Curly’s snowman?"
"Yes."
"Where is Curly now?"
"Curly didn’t know you were coming back, so she’s gone to school," Sally said with a smile. "If she knew you were back, she’d definitely be clamoring to come home."
"In the afternoon, I’ll go pick her up from school."
Sienna first went to see the twins. Pauline Briggs was feeding them some egg custard, and upon seeing Sienna, Pauline was so shocked she couldn’t utter a single word.
"Mom, I’m back."
Pauline’s bowl slipped from her hand to the floor, her mouth trembling, yet she couldn’t say a word.
Tears began to roll down as Pauline started to cry, "Where have you been, you worried me sick."
Although Sienna was taken away at birth, Pauline didn’t know her daughter had been switched, so she felt nothing.
This time, her daughter was nowhere to be found, and Pauline felt a piece of her heart missing, aching every day.
"Mom, don’t cry. I’m back safe and sound, aren’t I?"
Pauline suddenly stopped crying, wiping away her tears, scrutinizing Sienna, "Did anyone bully you?"
"No."
Pauline came over and inspected Sienna closely, assuring herself that she was unharmed and seemed in good spirits, she felt relieved.
"See, I’m perfectly fine," Sienna twirled around in front of Pauline.
"That’s good."
Sienna approached the twins, who had grown taller; even Claire was a size larger.
"Claire, Hugo, mommy’s back."
Sienna crouched in front of them, speaking gently, her voice shaking slightly, eyes fixed tightly on the two children as they stared back at her.
"Don’t you recognize mommy?"
Sienna reached out to embrace Claire, who suddenly burst into tears, reaching for Pauline and fearfully looking at Sienna.
Pauline took Claire into her arms, comforting her.
Claire was naturally introverted, and after being kidnapped by Kevin, she became even more reserved, wary of strangers.
"Children her age forget easily. Spend more time with them; it’ll be fine," Pauline saw her daughter’s teary eyes, saddened and troubled, and comforted her.
"I know." Sienna smiled, quickly pulling herself together.
She had been away for a considerable time, so the children not recognizing her was normal. She believed that as long as she spent more time with them, they would quickly come to like her.
"Hugo, your sister doesn’t recognize mommy. Do you remember mommy?" Sienna looked at Hugo expectantly.
Hugo frowned slightly, suddenly reached out, and grabbed her hair. Pauline quickly attended to the little rascal, "Oh dear, let go quickly."
Sienna didn’t expect the child’s strength to be so great. She didn’t dare to force him, fearing he might get hurt, and could only coax him.
"Hugo, be good, let go," said Pauline.
Finally, Sally brought out some toys, which made Hugo release his grip. Sienna took the strands of hair from her son’s hand, sighing, "Why are you so strong?"
"Hugo is very healthy. Last time during the flu outbreak, Claire got sick, Curly and Sheehan got hurt, but he was perfectly fine," Pauline said proudly.
Sienna held Hugo in her arms. Hugo didn’t resist; after a while, he suddenly went quiet. Sienna, puzzled, watched as he sniffed before burrowing into her embrace.
Sienna was familiar with the gesture. Hugo wanted to nurse, and Sienna was a bit embarrassed, explained, "Hugo, there’s none left."
Hugo didn’t care, he continued pawing at Sienna’s clothes, his small head burrowing against her until he couldn’t get through, then he started nibbling through her clothes.
"Sally, he’s hungry, go make him some formula."
"Yes, Madam."
"Hugo, Sally is going to make some formula now."
Pauline said, "That’s strange, he just had a small bowl of custard, how is he hungry again?"
Kiki heard that Sienna was back and came over holding Sheehan.
Sheehan had also grown taller, with a frown and a cold expression that increasingly resembled Adrian Desmond.
"Sheehan, mommy’s back..."
Sheehan stood there, staring at Sienna. Sienna looked at him tenderly, allowing him to size her up, unsure if the child still remembered her.
"Mom!" Sheehan suddenly smiled.
Sienna felt a weight lifted from her heart. Fortunately, Sheehan still recognized her, "Sheehan, mommy missed you all very much."
Kiki began to recount the children’s activities during Sienna’s absence and, upon mentioning Kevin’s actions, Sienna was furious.
"How are his parents raising him? Such a young child, completely unruly, what will he become when he grows up?"
Looking at Claire, Sienna felt a stabbing pain in her heart.
No wonder she was so fearful and lacked a sense of security; Sienna hadn’t expected such a thing would happen.
Claire calmed down in Pauline’s arms, her eyes wide open, cautiously observing Sienna.
Claire was especially interesting; when Sienna looked at her, she’d hide away. When Sienna looked elsewhere, she’d peek out again.
