The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1425: Cohabitation Relationship
Marion and Sabrina Conner understood Adrian Desmond’s plan and were aware of it. Marion said, “Sixth Master, we all understand.”
“Remember, this is not Abyanabad, you also have to abide by the rules here.” Adrian Desmond reminded them.
“Yes, Sixth Master.”
Adrian Desmond found some people here quite interesting, such as Otto Hodges. He had a Mercedes-Benz car at home, drove it to work, but didn’t dare to drive it directly to the company. Instead, he parked the car at a parking lot halfway and took a folding bike out from the trunk to ride to work.
Living like this, Adrian Desmond felt exhausted on his behalf.
In the middle, someone called him, inviting him for a drink. Adrian used Sienna Johnson as an excuse to decline.
It was too late, so by the time Adrian returned, Sienna Johnson was already asleep.
Adrian, reeking of alcohol and smoke, didn’t dare to disturb her. He went to the bathroom to take a shower and clean up before getting into bed.
As soon as he got into bed, Sienna Johnson woke up.
Adrian kissed her and smiled, “Did I wake you up?”
“Adrian, what have you been doing lately? Why are you coming back so late every night?”
Sienna Johnson wasn’t the kind of wife who disdained tracking the whereabouts of her husband all day, but Adrian coming back late every night still made her uneasy.
“I recently met some friends and went out drinking with them.” Adrian pulled Sienna Johnson into his arms, smiling at her, “Don’t worry, I absolutely haven’t been unfaithful…”
Adrian ran his hand over Sienna Johnson’s smooth skin, feeling a little itchy inside. However, it was quite late, and she had to go to work tomorrow, so Adrian could only suppress his urge.
“Friends who are just bad influences aren’t worth keeping.”
“Uh-huh.” Adrian honestly agreed, not arguing with Sienna Johnson.
Sienna Johnson, deep down, maintained a certain pride, viewing issues too purely, as black or white, when in fact most things in this world are gray.
Adrian glanced at Sienna Johnson, who had fallen asleep again. He was busy, and she had been very busy lately too.
“Go to sleep. I will make you the President.” Anything she wanted, Adrian would help her achieve.
…
The next day, Kiya really came to work.
Kiya’s work capability was very strong; he could handle everything after learning it once. Sienna Johnson couldn’t help but sigh, truly deserving to have been a Sultan, with extraordinary talent.
In the tea room, Kiya ran into James Winslow. Kiya stared at him, his gaze unfriendly. He regarded James Winslow as a rival in love, very wary and full of hostility towards him.
“Secretary Winslow, from now on, I can teach Assistant Desmond, so no need for your trouble.” Kiya said to James Winslow.
James Winslow glanced at Kiya, understanding the grudge in this man’s heart, finding it amusing, “Assistant Desmond and I are just friends, believe it or not.”
Kiya replied, “I don’t believe it!”
James Winslow shook his head and went to pour himself a coffee. Paige Desmond came in and greeted James Winslow, “Secretary Winslow, did you finish the porcelain my friend ordered last time?”
“Some were broken in the kiln, so I need to redo them, which delayed things a bit. Is your friend in a hurry?”
“Not in a hurry, you can take your time. My friend is rather picky.”
James Winslow laughed, “Of course! I always maintain integrity in business.”
“We all trust Secretary Winslow.”
Paige Desmond looked at James Winslow, her smile as bright as the change in Kiya’s expression was dark. He stood there, but that woman seemed not to see him.
“Ahem…” Kiya coughed to remind them of his presence.
Paige Desmond looked at him strangely, then turned back to continue chatting with James Winslow, “Secretary Winslow, are you free this Saturday? I have something to discuss with you.”
“Of course. What time?”
“Around nine on Saturday, I’ll come to your shop.”
“No problem.”
“Then it’s a date.”
“Okay.”
James Winslow glanced at Kiya and walked out with his coffee, amused that this man actually regarded him as an imaginary enemy.
Paige Desmond also poured a cup of coffee to refresh herself.
Kiya asked, “What are you meeting Secretary Winslow for on Saturday?”
“I plan to invest in his porcelain shop.”
Kiya frowned, “Are you short of money?”
Paige Desmond leaned against the wall, sipping her coffee, “Are you short of money?”
“Of course not.”
“If you’re not short of money, why are you working at my sister-in-law’s company?” Paige Desmond said.
“I came to work because of you. You’re so beautiful; apart from Secretary Winslow, who knows if there are Secretary Hampton, Secretary Smith…and that guy from Marketing, coming to you every day for what?” Kiya was full of jealousy, his tone full of complaints against Paige Desmond.
“Naturally, it’s for work-related matters.”
“You’re not fooling me! You’re just a small assistant; how many things require you to be consulted every day?”
Paige Desmond said, “Believe it or not. Anyway, I have a clear conscience.”
Paige Desmond looked at Kiya, seeing him so suspicious all day, and found it very annoying. Because of this plague-like presence, her popularity had dropped significantly lately.
“Kiya, if you dare to sabotage my relationships with my colleagues again, don’t blame me for being rude to you.” Paige Desmond threatened.
Kiya’s hand fell on her ring finger, where there was no ring. After their divorce, Kiya never took off his ring, but this woman had long thrown away her wedding ring.
They had not remarried yet; Paige Desmond was still single, which left Kiya feeling insecure.
“Then put on your wedding ring. Without it, people think you’re single and entertain inappropriate ideas about you.”
Paige Desmond extended her hand and looked at her ring finger. When she first took off the wedding ring, there was still a mark around it, but now it was gone, just like her marriage filled with painful memories.
“I am single now, so why should I wear a wedding ring?”
Kiya pressed his lips together, asking, “We sleep together every night, what do you call that?”
“A cohabitation relationship!”
“Cohabitation” is legally unprotected, a fragile relationship, and Kiya hated this cohabitation status.
“Cohabitation? Have you seen cohabitation with two kids? Have you thought about when our children grow up and realize we don’t have a marriage certificate, how will they feel?”
Paige Desmond replied, “I believe our children will understand me.”
“Paige Desmond, what exactly are you thinking?”
“What I’m thinking, does it matter?”
“Tell me!”
It was break time and people could come in at any moment. Paige Desmond didn’t want to argue, making herself a laughing stock within the company.
“I want you to go back to Abyanabad!”
Kiya looked at her in shock, “Is that what you think?” he asked, feeling a pang in his heart.
“Yes, that’s what I think.”
