The Billionaire's Heir I Never Knew Was Mine

Chapter 173: Injury

Chapter 173: Injury

Sienna didn’t waste the opportunity.

"If any of you come closer, I’ll use all my strength to seriously injure you... I mean, you won’t be able to enjoy your life!" she warned, pressing down harder while keeping the dagger aimed at him.

Her gaze shifted briefly to the other gangsters, making sure they understood she wasn’t bluffing.

The three men immediately hesitated and looked confused.

"Stop!" Blade ordered through gritted teeth.

Relief washed through Sienna, but she refused to lower her guard. She maintained her position on top of him and kept both hands firmly on the dagger. The situation was still dangerous. One mistake could allow Blade to regain control, and she knew the other men were watching closely for any chance to throw a strike at her.

"Now release your hand and the dagger," she instructed in a cold voice. "Don’t test me. This sharp dagger will pierce your skin before you get another chance."

Her mind raced as she spoke. She needed to take the weapon and get away from this place as quickly as possible. Remaining here would only give Blade and his men more chances to surround her again.

Fortunately, Blade seemed to understand the situation. Whether because of the dagger pointed at him or the pain between his legs, he was still enduring; he chose not to challenge her.

Slowly, she felt his fingers loosen around the handle. His resistance faded little by little until she finally gained complete control of the dagger.

The moment the weapon was hers, Sienna acted.

She quickly stood and stepped back to create distance. Then, before Blade could rise from the ground, she struck him across the side of the head with the handle of the dagger. The blow wasn’t intended to seriously injure him, only to buy her a few more precious seconds.

Without waiting to see the result, she turned and ran.

Her legs carried her toward the side gate as fast as they could. The cut on her arm burned with every movement, and her lungs felt tight from the fight, but fear pushed her forward.

She didn’t dare look back. Her only focus was reaching the entrance of Orchid Garden Apartment.

The distance felt much shorter this time.

When she finally passed through the gate and reached the building entrance, she slowed just enough to glance over her shoulder.

The road behind her was empty.

She couldn’t see Blade.

She couldn’t see the other gangsters.

A deep breath escaped her.

"Thank God, I’m safe," she muttered under her breath before hurrying toward the glass entrance door.

Only after stepping inside the elevator and hearing the doors slide shut did she finally allow herself to relax.

The adrenaline that had kept her moving with strength throughout the fight began to fade, leaving exhaustion, pain, and trembling relief in its wake.

Sienna quickly tore a strip from the hem of her silk shirt and wrapped it around her injured arm, doing her best to stop the bleeding.

The cut continued to sting, and she could feel the warmth of blood seeping through the makeshift bandage, but at least the pressure helped slow it down.

Leaning lightly against the elevator wall, she focused on securing the cloth tightly enough to keep the wound from bleeding further.

By the time the elevator reached the tenth floor, she had managed to tie the bandage around her arm.

The doors slid open, and she hurried out, eager to get inside her apartment and put the terrifying encounter behind her.

However, she had barely taken a few steps before she stopped abruptly.

Logan was standing in front of her apartment door. One hand rested near the doorbell, and it was obvious he had been trying to get her attention for some time.

As if sensing her presence, he turned around at the same moment. The concern on his face was immediate and unmistakable. Without hesitation, he walked toward her.

"Ma’am, you finally showed up," he said. "You look exhausted. Are you okay? May I know where you have been?"

Sienna was still surprised to see him there. Instead of answering his question, she frowned slightly and asked, "Why are you here?"

She genuinely didn’t understand why he was standing outside her apartment. Logan should have returned to Zachary’s house after dropping her off earlier. Seeing him here at this hour made no sense.

"...Master asked me to check on you after he tried calling, but you didn’t answer," Logan explained patiently. "When I rang your intercom downstairs, you didn’t respond either. He gave me your passwords so I could come up here and make sure you were alright."

Sienna nodded slowly as understanding dawned on her. Earlier, she had promised Zachary that she would call him once she got home. Considering how protective Zachary could be, it wasn’t surprising that he had become worried when she failed to answer his calls.

"Sorry, Logan, for making you come all the way here," she said apologetically. "But I’m home now. You can return—"

Logan interrupted her before she could finish speaking, "Ma’am, you bleeding..."

His eyes were fixed on her arm, on the blood seeping through the cloth wrapped around the wound.

Instinctively, Sienna tried to move her injured arm behind her back, but it was already too late. Logan had stepped closer and was carefully examining the makeshift bandage.

"Ma’am, we need to go to the hospital right now," he said, his voice filled with deep concern.

Sienna immediately shook her head.

"No. Don’t worry. I’m fine. It’s just a small wound. A scratch."

Logan looked at her, showing an obvious sign that he didn’t buy her explanation. His expression grew noticeably firmer, and for the first time that evening, he looked completely unwilling to accept her answer.

"A small wound with that much blood?" he asked. "Ma’am, if this injury isn’t treated properly, you could lose too much blood. And if something bad happens to you on my watch, Master and Young Master Sky will be very, very mad at me. Master might even punish me with death."

Despite the situation, Sienna couldn’t help smiling faintly at his words. She knew he was exaggerating, but she could easily imagine Zachary being furious if he discovered Logan had ignored an obvious injury and simply left her alone.

"And I insist that we examine and treat the wound properly," Logan continued. "It might need stitches."
