The Billionaire's Hidden Affection
Chapter 1153 - 1150: Sorry, I Love You 3
It was a habit, a habit of reconciling after countless times of heartbreak and despair—just like the first time on a plane, weakly leaning against him.
Suddenly, there was a sense of relief.
Or, it’s a sense of security—whether you admit it or not, at this moment, you can’t deceive yourself; in his arms, you’re finally safe.
A woman, no matter how proud, independent, or capable, at this moment, she only has him.
Her breathing gradually became even.
He was amazed to find that she had actually fallen asleep.
With soft jade and warm fragrance, her scattered soul completely came alive.
He too was remarkably tired, coupled with extreme relaxation of mind, he tightly held the person in his arms and fell asleep leaning on the sofa.
For so many days and nights, it was the first time he could peacefully close his eyes.
Finally, it was dawn.
When Wan Donglin opened his eyes, the sky was still quite dim.
He sat up, suddenly noticing his empty hands, and looking around, he jumped up in surprise: "Xixi... Xixi..."
But where was anybody?
Could it be just a dream after all?
But looking around, this place was unfamiliar—definitely not at home, nor on a plane.
He rushed outside.
The grass in the dawn was withered and desolate, an antique car particularly lonely.
A pair of hands were already pulling the car door.
This time he saw clearly: the woman with a backpack turned sideways, there was no mistake.
He instinctively rushed over, grabbing her in an embrace, his voice completely hoarse: "Xixi... it’s really you... really you... oh my..."
For some reason, he burst into laughter.
His voice hoarse, followed by strange laughter, was quite frightening.
Yan Xixi was held tightly by him, unable to catch her breath.
"Haha... Xixi, it’s really you... really you... I said you weren’t dead... really, I never believed you were dead... hahaha..."
He was incoherent, just laughing wildly, suddenly excitedly grabbing her and spinning around.
Yan Xixi caught off guard, originally unable to resist, was held tightly, spun around until she was dizzy.
Finally, he let go, and she suddenly exerted force, fiercely pushed him away.
"Xixi..."
Perhaps it was her terrifying gaze, cold, angry, like looking at a stranger. He felt a bit aggrieved, awkwardly: "Xixi... it’s me... it’s me..."
He stammered: "I’ve been looking for you... I’ve been in Boston for seven or eight days, looking for you..."
She turned around and walked away.
"Xixi... Xixi... where are you going?"
She held a backpack in one hand, pulling the car door with the other, her body slightly trembling, yet remained silent.
He panicked, hurriedly pulling her: "Silly girl, where are you going? I... I’ll go with you..."
She pushed him, but he remained unmoved, his hoarse voice more haggard than the person: "Xixi... I’ll go with you... I’ll go with you wherever you go..."
Her hand left the car door, turned back, finally looking directly at him.
The sky was dim, snow still falling, yet she saw him clearly. He had lost a lot of weight, his eyes full of bloodshot, a haggard demeanor, but full of smiles, his eyes bright as if about to ignite.
After knowing him for so many years, she had never seen such intense eyes.
Scarier than the wolf-like gaze when they first met.
