Chapter 1260: Chapter 1257: Why Do You Look So Pale?

Qi Longbing didn’t say anything, just slightly nodded his head. The makeup artist unlocked the door and entered the dressing room, seeing Hua Xiaomo sitting on a makeup stool, quietly lost in thought.

"Miss Hua, why haven’t you changed yet? The Young Master is anxiously waiting outside. Shall I help you change?" the makeup artist said, suddenly noticing something was off about her emotions. She asked concernedly, "Miss Hua, are you okay?"

Hua Xiaomo turned her head, glanced at her, collected her feelings of disappointment, and stood up.

"Thank you, I’m fine," Hua Xiaomo said faintly. Then with the help of the makeup artist, she pulled open the side zipper, changed out of the wedding dress, put on her white ceremonial dress she arrived in, tidied up her attire, and walked out.

Qi Longbing was sitting on the sofa outside at that moment. Seeing her come out, he stood up and greeted her.

"What’s wrong? You look so pale. Are you sick? Let me check," Qi Longbing said in confusion, looking at her somewhat haggard face, filled with concern. He reached out a hand intending to touch her forehead, but unexpectedly, Hua Xiaomo turned her head, avoiding his touch.

"I’m fine," Hua Xiaomo replied. She took two steps forward, eluding his probing gaze.

Qi Longbing didn’t mind; he casually smiled with one hand in his pocket.

"Alright, let’s go eat. I’m already starving," Qi Longbing said, embracing her shoulder with his other hand and leading her downstairs.

Hua Xiaomo said nothing, allowed him to hold her, and followed his steps like a puppet.

...

Throughout the meal, there was a lukewarm atmosphere; she ate very little, appearing somewhat thin. Qi Longbing didn’t say much. He knew she wasn’t too happy with this marriage, but the always proud and arrogant Qi Longbing showed great patience to tolerate her, hoping that after marrying him, she would gradually change her attitude towards him.

That night, the City C District’s beach was unusually silent save for the sound of the sea breeze. The dark curtain fell, not even a single Xingchen was visible, seemingly all swallowed by the night.

Hua Xiaomo stood on the balcony, gazing at the pitch-black beach in front. How she wished she could see him again, but alas... such a chance would never come again!

Oh... why does life have so many regrets... what is the meaning of her life... where is her love...

The cold wind blew against her cheeks, stirring her hair, making it messy. She was dazed, staring blankly with no tears. Her gaze became vacant, lifeless, as if despair had opened a long scar in her heart.

After sitting like that for a long time, Hua Xiaomo finally smiled faintly when a gust of wind blew her hair across her eyes. She slowly rose from the chair in silence and returned to the room, crossing through it, going out the main door.

Her steps became heavy, stopping at the door of the room. Hua Xiaomo looked at the tightly closed door. Her arm trembled slightly, clenched her fist briefly, then released it, lifted her arm, biting her lip, intending to knock on the door when suddenly it opened automatically from inside.

The person inside was surprised upon seeing the silhouette at the door, even more so with a touch of delight.

"Hua Xiaomo, it’s you. You’re still awake so late, is there something you want to discuss?" Qi Longbing said, his blue eyes shining.

Hua Xiaomo hesitated for a moment, steadied herself, then raised her beautiful eyes to look at him. Qi Longbing, wearing a white robe, appeared particularly fresh and handsome. Suddenly, she averted her gaze.

"I have something to discuss with you," Hua Xiaomo said slowly, her tone very subdued.

"Oh?!" Qi Longbing responded doubtfully, his mind racing, and after thinking for a moment, he stepped back, saying, "Then come in!"

Hua Xiaomo hesitated, walked into the room; it was her first time entering since living here. The furnishings and decorations inside were all dark-toned, with a deep-sea-like blue color on the carpet, bedspread, curtains, everywhere... This reminded Hua Xiaomo that this bedroom was quite similar to his room in "Caesar Courtyard."

After Hua Xiaomo entered, she didn’t close the door, nor did Qi Longbing walk over to do so. The mystery of this was clear between them without explanation. At night, she came to his room without sleeping, what did this mean...

Although it seemed to have tempting factors on the surface, clever Qi Longbing knew that if it were someone else, there might be ulterior motives. But for Hua Xiaomo, such intentions were completely impossible. She said she had something to discuss, so there must be something serious, not just a deliberate excuse! Thus, he didn’t need to close the door; anyway, she would leave after speaking. He didn’t hope she would stay.

"Have a seat! Would you like something to drink?" Qi Longbing asked, walking towards the bar inside the room. Seeing the dazzling array of drinks, his eyes slightly brightened, blurting out, "How about a glass of ’Paris Bloom’?"

Hua Xiaomo sat on the sofa, staring into the corner of the room, somewhat lost in thought. Upon hearing his words, she suddenly lifted her head.

"Sorry, I don’t drink alcohol. I’m here to discuss something," Hua Xiaomo said plainly.

"Oh! Then let’s have some milk! Drinking milk before bed can be good for a woman’s complexion!" Qi Longbing said to himself, taking out two packaged boxes and walked towards her, handing one over.

Hua Xiaomo said nothing, extended her delicate fingers to accept it. Without opening it, she just placed it back on the coffee table next to her.

Qi Longbing glanced at it but didn’t mind, opened his box, used a straw to sip the milk, drinking slowly, then sat on the other sofa beside her with an air of easy elegance.

"What’s the matter? Speak," Qi Longbing said while looking at the woman in front of him. Today, when they took wedding photos, her mood was low all day, except for forcing a smile during photos. Other than that, he hadn’t seen any other smiles, truly wondering what she had to say now...

Just as Qi Longbing was speculating, Hua Xiaomo raised her eyes to look at him, meeting his deep blue ocean-like gaze.

"I want to move the wedding date forward," Hua Xiaomo said calmly.

As soon as she spoke, Qi Longbing almost sprayed the milk from his mouth.

"What? Say that again," Qi Longbing asked, somewhat unsure, thinking she must be out of sorts to say such a thing. Wasn’t she very resistant to marrying him? How could she... It was impossible, impossible; he must have heard wrong.
