Chapter 1352 - 1349: What Did He Give Her?
Chapter 1352: Chapter 1349: What Did He Give Her?
Zi Ruoxi hadn’t had a chance to speak before the person in front of her disappeared. Now, there were two questions in her mind: first, who was he? Second, what did he give her?
Uh...
While thinking about it, the person behind her had already come to her side and pulled her in close. The man wearing the Black Hawk Mask was obviously displeased. However, thankfully, his temper had become surprisingly good in front of her.
"What did that man want from you?" Qiao Junlie asked, his tone was somewhat cold. Though he seemed engrossed in his phone call, he had actually seen them dancing, and even though they weren’t holding each other, their intimate behavior stirred instant jealousy within him, making his handsome face as cold as ice.
Zi Ruoxi was confused by the question. She hadn’t figured out what was going on. Why was he questioning her this way?
"...I don’t know." Zi Ruoxi replied, but seeing Qiao Junlie seemed somewhat angry, she continued to explain, "We just had a dance, and he gave me this." Saying this, Zi Ruoxi opened her palm to reveal a very small black cloth bag, just palm-sized, with the opening wrapped tightly with golden silk, sealed securely.
Qiao Junlie eyed her suspiciously and took the item from her palm. Something must be inside. Suddenly, a sense of vigilance and acuteness emerged in his blue eyes. It was his usual intuition. He felt that the appearance of this person was definitely something out of the ordinary.
Damn, didn’t expect himself to go on vacation only to be disturbed by this gang of bastards.
Qiao Junlie immediately pulled Zi Ruoxi to a secluded and wind-sheltered spot, safe and just the two of them. Only then did he open the small black bag, untying the golden silk wrapped around it. The contents dazzled before his eyes...
Damn it!!
Murong Jun, that bastard, really can’t do anything good!
It turned out to be a bunch of diamonds, dazzling and radiant, their brilliance instantly diminishing any worldly value. Zi Ruoxi watched from the side, too shocked to speak. This was beyond her expectations. She never imagined a stranger putting such things into her hands. What does this mean? A conspiracy or...
She couldn’t guess now, so her only choice was to turn her focus to Qiao Junlie, who was much calmer, leading her to believe they knew each other. Probably that man was using her to pass this to Qiao Junlie. But... it was still perplexing, especially when recalling the departing expression, maybe he saw Qiao Junlie, so why use her hands?
Zi Ruoxi couldn’t think too much. Forget it, let’s see what Qiao Junlie says.
Qiao Junlie looked carefully; there were about fifty diamonds. Each one over five carats, with colors like red, pink, green, blue, an obvious batch of top-grade diamonds, perfectly proportioned, polished, and refined, each loose diamond’s facets geometrically shaped and arranged transparently exceptionally bright, giving off splendid fire sparkle. Practically indistinguishable from fake to real ones. No, these were indeed real. These diamonds must be laser inscribed though nothing visible to the surface.
However, Qiao Junlie could guess. And soon, it proved his deduction right.
His blue eyes gazed at the items with a genuine frown. Unexpectedly, his phone rang again. Qiao Junlie glanced at the number and suddenly sneered. Then he answered the call.
"Hello!" A thick, magnetic voice.
"Hi, Qiao Junlie. You saw the items, right?" The caller asked.
"They’re in my hand. Speak directly, what’s your purpose?" Qiao Junlie demanded forcefully, tired of wasting words with him. Internally calculating this bastard must be up to no good.
"Help me take them out," Murong Jun said on the other end, seemingly with a mischievous smile in his tone.
"Damn fool!" Qiao Junlie cursed instantly, then deliberately stepped forward a few paces. He really didn’t want Zi Ruoxi to know he had dealings with such a person. Zi Ruoxi saw him like this and showed tact by turning away, silently moving to another side. Only when Zi Ruoxi moved away did Qiao Junlie pick up the phone with an indifferent tone. "You even want me to take these smuggled goods? What do you take me for? Damn it, what the hell do you do for a living?"
The other person seemed not angry after hearing it. Just paused for a moment.
"Departing from Palau isn’t too strict, right? Your yacht would be perfect, no one dares involve your ship. Haha..." Murong Jun laughed maliciously after saying this.
Qiao Junlie coldly sneered twice. No one dares?
"I bet... you’re daring." Qiao Junlie retorted uncomfortably. Then, the blue eyes dimmed, asking, "Where are you?"
Who knew.
"Guess." Murong Jun chuckled evilly.
Damn it! You dare!?
Qiao Junlie felt that this sudden emergence of a disruptor would be troublesome; he was as sly as a nine-tailed fox.
Seeing Qiao Junlie didn’t reply, the other couldn’t endure and admitted.
"I’m on your ship," Murong Jun said calmly, unimagining the kind of fierce-cool expression Qiao Junlie had, then speaking like death could not stop him with a wicked laugh, "Qiao Junlie, you really know how to enjoy, why not include your mates. That girl serving you well, huh... ha ha..."
Qiao Junlie’s expression turned ominously dark in anger.
"Get off, dammit," Qiao Junlie spat coldly.
"Hehe, why say that," Murong Jun said smoothly, "We rarely travel the same road. Honestly, our tastes aren’t too different, that girl... really pretty..." Murong Jun didn’t forget to mention Zi Ruoxi, his mind probably still relishing the moment of dancing with her.
Lastly, Murong Jun said inappropriately, "Don’t worry, I won’t be a nuisance. As long as you help me take those goods out. This time, consider it a favor returning for your brother."
Huh! What bullshit brother? How could Qiao Junlie befriend a scumbag like Murong Jun?
"What if I don’t?" Qiao Junlie challenged, his eyes flashing a hint of disdain.
"Uh... hahahaha..." Murong Jun laughed, then slyly said, "Qiao Junlie, you’re smart, I don’t need to chatter. Remember my kindness, your brother appreciates yours. Heh heh."
That bastard! Like he’s sticking to him, Qiao Junlie pondered for a second.
"Okay. I’ll help you this time. But, no more next time. Now, you... get off immediately. Don’t let your disgusting paws pollute my ship." Qiao Junlie replied unceremoniously. Thinking back, his college apartment annually shipped cargo from Murong Jun’s harbor, earning several billion dollars for this guy, couldn’t exhaust this bastard, yet idles in smuggling stuff! Damn it!
