The Blind Side Character is an (SSS)-Rank Esper
Chapter 55: What a joke!
But not everyone felt sorry for Zephyr.
Some people watched with undisguised disdain, quietly snickering and exchanging amused glances among themselves.
Eleven Elonor was one of them.
He even stepped forward, deliberately making his voice loud enough for everyone nearby to hear.
"Some people know they’re blind, yet they still want to rush into a Dungeon Break and play the hero! How utterly ridiculous."
Seeing Eleven openly mock Zephyr, his group of lackeys immediately joined in, snickering as they echoed his disdain.
"Exactly! He’s a blind Esper. What could he possibly do in a high-rank Dungeon Break?"
"He doesn’t just want to get himself killed—he wants to drag Erick down with him too!"
"Sigh, Erick really is too soft-hearted. He probably only let him join his team out of guilt for the Association sending him to the Lab. He’s useless. So, there’s no reason to treat him like a real teammate. He should be grateful that Erick even took him in."
The whispers grew louder as more people joined in, their voices filled with contempt.
The S-Rank Espers frowned at the scene, but one after another, they left with their teammates, simply ignoring the matter.
After all, this was not the first time they had seen Eleven picking on someone.
They were already used to it.
Anyway, he only knew how to bark and cry to his S-Rank Esper older brother. So, they had long since stopped paying attention.
Eleven listened to the mocking voices around him, a faint smile curling across his face as he gazed at Zephyr’s figure.
This was his revenge for the humiliation Zephyr had inflicted on him before! Zephyr could only blame himself for getting on Eleven’s wrong side. Although Eleven had felt sorry for Zephyr when he was dragged into the Dungeon by a monster and nearly died, and even when he was sent to the Lab, he had survived and returned unscathed!
Eleven was petty by nature.
He never forgot a grudge!
So, how could he possibly let that go?
Yet, even after Eleven had openly mocked Zephyr, the Esper did not so much as turn his head toward him. Eleven’s insults, along with those of his lackeys, were completely ignored. It was almost as though they were punching at soft cotton, leaving Eleven so frustrated that he nearly coughed up blood.
But what happened next shocked Eleven even more. Just as he was about to rush toward Zephyr and point his finger at his nose, Zephyr, who had been standing still like a statue, suddenly moved. However, he did not move toward Eleven to fight him.
Instead, he walked straight toward the Esper with teleportation abilities who had sent Erick and his teammates away and suddenly grabbed his shoulder tightly.
At that moment, it almost seemed as though Zephyr could see. However, when those watching him looked into his eyes, they were still empty, devoid of any light.
The Esper with the teleportation ability frowned at Zephyr in confusion. Already drained and nauseous from teleporting so many people in such a short time, he could not understand why Zephyr had suddenly grabbed him. He even lost his temper.
"Can’t you see I’m working? Let go!"
Zephyr stared at him with an unnervingly indifferent expression. He was taller than the Esper, and there was something darkly intimidating about his calm presence. The Esper instinctively froze, his anger fading.
Then, the Esper’s eyes went unfocused.
Zephyr’s voice was extremely low. Yet somehow, everyone nearby heard him.
"You are going to send me to B City."
For a moment, the ground floor fell strangely quiet. The silence was broken when Eleven burst into laughter, already preparing to mock Zephyr again.
What was he thinking? Did he really believe that simply asking the Esper to send him to B City would actually make the later do it?
What a joke!
But before the words could even leave Eleven’s mouth, the Esper answered.
"Okay."
The next second, under the shocked gazes of many Espers and Guides, a teleportation circle suddenly lit up beneath Zephyr’s feet.
And then, he was gone.
Just like that.
One of Eleven’s lackeys’ jaws fell open.
"What just happened?"
For a moment, he genuinely looked as though he were questioning every decision that had led him to this moment.
Even Eleven was caught off guard, his laughter dying in his throat. The others around him stared in disbelief as well.
Ultimately, every gaze turned toward the Esper who had just sent Zephyr away.
Eleven was the first to snap out of it. He rushed toward the Esper, shouting angrily.
"Are you fucking crazy?! How could you send him to such a dangerous place just because he told you to? He will die!"
For a moment, his words left all of his lackeys speechless. For some reason, he sounded genuinely worried, as though he actually cared whether Zephyr, that blind Esper he had been openly mocking with them just moments ago, lived or died.
Just like Eleven’s lackeys, the crowd who heard his words was left speechless as well. This guy was really something else.
The Esper with the teleportation ability came to his senses at Eleven’s outburst.
He seemed puzzled for a moment before his eyes widened in shock as he realized what he had just done. He stuttered as he quickly tried to explain himself to everyone.
"I didn’t! It... It just happened..."
Hearing his broken words, Eleven grabbed him by the collar, his eyes blazing with fury.
"How could it just happen?! Don’t tell me you were jealous of Zephyr joining Erick’s team and wanted to get that guy killed!"
The Esper turned pale. He really could not understand why he had done what he had just done! The moment Zephyr had asked him to send him away, his mind had simply stopped working. He had acted almost on instinct, without giving any thought to what he was doing. Perhaps... it was because he was exhausted from overusing his ability.
After all, no matter how hard he racked his brain, he could not come up with any other explanation for why he had acted that way!
He was far stronger than Eleven, a Guide, and could have easily freed himself, but in his panic, he completely forgot about it.
It was only when the emergency team stepped in and separated the two that Eleven released the Esper. They were just as shocked and worried about what had happened to Zephyr, but this was not the time to deal with it. A Dungeon Break had occurred in B City, and countless people were dying every second. Whatever had happened here would have to wait. Right now, saving those people came first!
Eleven was still shouting, threatening to deal with the Esper who had sent Zephyr away if the man died. Only after he was quickly teleported away to B City with his team did the ground floor finally fall silent.
