The Blind Side Character is an (SSS)-Rank Esper
Chapter 75: Make him disappear
Watching the scene of Zephyr going to Lucien, Eleven’s smile instantly stiffened.
He had been standing at the front of the Guides, arrogantly waiting for Zephyr to approach after ordering everyone else to step aside. He had even been prepared to scoff the moment Zephyr reached him.
Yet just as Zephyr came close enough to the area where the Guides were, he simply veered away, leaving Eleven standing there with his smug smile frozen on his face.
Eleven’s expression turned ugly.
His arrogance vanished, replaced by a mixture of disbelief and irritation. After all that posturing, Zephyr had not even been coming toward him in the first place!
His jaw clenched tightly in shame.
Just now, he had acted as though he were the only one capable of handling Zephyr.
Yet Zephyr had not come to him at all.
Instead, he had completely ignored him.
The realization made Eleven want to dig a hole and bury himself in it, hoping he could vanish. The gloating looks from the other Guides only made his humiliation worse!
"Very well! Very well!"
He muttered through gritted teeth.
"You do not want to come to an S-rank Guide for guiding? Fine! Do not come. Who cares?"
He sneered, then cast a furious glance toward Zephyr before letting out a low, mocking chuckle with a dark expression.
"Now, even if you come crawling back and beg me, I will not guide you! Heh, go on, then. Let us see how long that useless Lucien can give you guiding before he collapses."
With that, Eleven turned away and returned to his previous spot, settling down as though he were about to enjoy a good show. His eyes remained fixed on Lucien and Zephyr, practically dripping with venom.
Eleven was not the only one whose smile had vanished.
Erick, who had been following closely behind Zephyr, suddenly came to a halt when he saw Zephyr veer away from the Guides and head in a different direction.
His golden eyes narrowed darkly.
He had been perfectly willing to let Zephyr receive guiding from the other Guides, but Lucien was an entirely different matter. The sight of Zephyr sitting opposite Lucien’s slumped figure instantly put Erick on edge.
"Lucien O’Connell."
The name escaped his lips in a dangerously low voice.
"Now you are really starting to get on my nerves."
At that moment, Sylvia finally broke free from her stupor. Her breath came in short, uneven bursts as her eyes lifted to fix on Zephyr and Lucien, unable to look away.
Her lips parted, but for several seconds, no words came out. When she finally spoke, her voice was barely above a whisper.
"No way... It cannot be him. He was just a useless guy! It has to be someone else..."
Ryan stepped closer and stood beside her, his face unsightly as he followed her gaze.
"It’s him. Although he has changed a lot in a short time... I can never forget his face."
He whispered.
Sylvia’s face instantly drained of color.
Her hand slowly rose toward her eyes, her fingers trembling as a terrifying thought flashed through her mind.
If that really was Zephyr... and he had become this powerful...
Would he want his eyes back?
Would he come for them?
Her heart began pounding violently at the thought. She had spent so long living in darkness. The thought of losing her sight all over again was almost unbearable.
It had only been a short time since she had finally begun to enjoy the life she had always wanted.
Why had Zephyr come back?
And why had he returned so powerful?
Why had he not simply died somewhere?
The questions twisted together in her mind, feeding her fear until she could barely think clearly.
Seeing her trembling, Ryan grabbed her shoulder and lowered his voice.
"Calm down. We need to keep a low profile for now. Do not cause a scene."
Sylvia looked at him with red eyes.
Ryan’s expression remained grim as he glanced toward Zephyr.
"He cannot see. As long as we do not draw his attention, we still have time. We can find a way to deal with him before our parents discover that the useless kid they abandoned has become someone powerful."
Hearing the mention of their parents, who had always valued their children solely for their usefulness, Sylvia’s face sank further.
She clenched her fists tightly.
"We cannot let them know. Find a way to quickly get rid of him before they find out!"
Ryan slowly released her shoulder, his expression gradually settling into calm.
"I know."
Their parents had used Zephyr when they considered him useless, treating him as nothing more than a tool to pave the way for Sylvia and him. Now that Zephyr had returned with power far beyond either of them, Ryan could not imagine what their parents would do if they learned the truth.
But one thing was certain.
They would never simply leave someone this powerful alone, especially when this person’s strength could bring the Wales family even greater benefits.
Ryan understood that better than anyone.
He knew exactly how their family worked. As long as he and Sylvia remained useful, their parents would treat them as valuable members of the family. But the moment they lost their usefulness, they were discarded without hesitation.
Zephyr was the clearest example.
His eyes had been given to Sylvia without a second thought.
He had been left to rot in prison for a crime Ryan had committed.
And now, if their parents learned that Zephyr had become powerful enough to be more valuable to the family than either of them, the situation could easily be reversed.
They could become the ones their parents decided were no longer worth keeping.
The thought sent a chill through Ryan.
Whatever happened, he could not allow their parents to learn about Zephyr before he and Sylvia dealt with him themselves.
They had to make him disappear as soon as possible.
Only then would his heart be at ease.
