Chapter 278 – Re: Lax
Day 14/15
That Night
The next few days passed in a flash for John as the idea of making their home into an actual village incited a whirlwind of activity with both the goblins and humans.
It turned out Ee was a machine with that pickaxe, able to break chunks off the massive granite stones embedded in the hillside with single strokes. Aqua, as much as she tried, couldn't keep up with her, so John assigned Chi and two of the goblin girls to help them. They still hadn't talked yet, but she did give him a wave and a thumbs up from a distance before rushing back to the quarry, so he left her be.
Mi, on the other hand, wouldn't leave him alone when he was in the mansion, wanting more English lessons. It was scary how quickly she absorbed information; she was now working on learning both the local human language and English so she could start translating the books in the library for the craftswomen.
He also took a little time each morning to sit down with a few of the women who were still having difficulties being around the goblins, telling them some stories about his past and trying to get to know them a little better. With judicious use of Scouter, he realized even the women who were acting okay were still putting on a brave face, but were trying their best to get used to this weird situation they found themselves in.
Angel was one of those women who had extreme difficulty adapting and was frankly terrified of him and most of the other goblins. Jean would bring her into the dining room and have her sit far away from him so she could be part of the conversations, but she hadn't said a word since she had found the two girls with her scrying spell. John really wanted that skill, but he wasn't going to ask for her milk.
The farm was coming along nicely, and when Grak and his cronies came back with several more rabbits trapped in a net they had fashioned from scraps in the old supply room, they added to their livestock count. Not sure if breaking their horns would hurt the adult rabbits, John took a file from the shed, dulled the tips, then stuck a tennis ball on top. After soothing the rabbits' agitation, he set them loose in the pen. They didn't seem to want to kill the small bunnies, so he left them to their own devices.
Speaking of Grak and his buddies, he had taken them out hunting again, and they killed a couple of wolves that attacked their group. The next day, they had three more hobgoblins in their ranks. Grak's attitude, while still a bit abrasive, was more deferential after that. He still didn't trust the guy, but it wasn't as bad as before.
John spent each evening at the lumber yard with the Carpenter and Woodworker, making bricks from the stones. They were deceptively strong people, and easily muscled the 160-pound bricks around while he just stood by the rock pile and made more. He would cast Heal on them once in a while to wash away their fatigue, and they would give him an appreciative kiss on the cheek before they kept going.
He had found a way to keep his lust somewhat in check; when he was starting to get overwhelmed with his horniness, he jogged. He did it when he woke up in the mornings, then again after taking a group out hunting, and finally after working in the evenings. At first, he did it around the village, but he decided to use that as an excuse to explore further out and see what was around them.
It turned out that there were a lot of things in these woods that thought a hobgoblin was a snack, and he was attacked by a bunch of different monsters. He made short work of them and tried to cook a few of the more appetizing-looking ones. He also found a bunch of blue slimes and, after destroying them, ate their cores. That was an interesting sensation; it was like sucking on a super sour, lemon-flavoured Gobstopper that sent tiny shocks across his tongue.
This evening, before he finished at the lumber yard, he finally decided to try Substance X. That might have been a mistake, as when it hit him, he almost pressed the Carpenter for more when she pecked him on the cheek. With the rest of his willpower, he took off for a jog instead, which ended up becoming this marathon he was currently running in the dark. It had been over four hours now, and Little John refused to go down. So he kept running, exploring further than he ever had before, the blood-red moon high overhead providing his Darkvision with more than enough light to see by.
He had travelled West for most of the evening, and as he was debating whether to turn back and return to the mansion, he came across an incredibly tall tree beside a misty lake, surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of different flowers. It was really beautiful, and he decided to take a break to take in the view before heading back to the mansion.
"Damn, if I knew this place existed, I would have put the mansion down here." He mused, tossing his jacket against the tree and lying on it, enjoying the tranquillity of the area. He opened his stat window and reviewed all the new skills he gained during his last few excursions.
[Level 39/100]
[Physical Damage Resistance Up]
[Spider Thread Creation]
[Thread Control]
[Blood Flow]
[Pump Up]
[Vamphillia]
[Self-Body Fluid Property Manipulation]
[Metamorphosis]
[Endurance]
[Evil Eye Resistance]
[Pack Hunting]
[Steel Hide]
They were all interesting skills; for example, Thread Creation could be used like Bind, but with a thick spider-silk thread instead of a magic rope. It also looked like he could use it to make actual rope that didn't disappear as Bind’s did. He was a little weirded out by Vamphillia, as he would need to suck on the blood of a living being to recover from injuries, but he would accept it. If he was out of mana, he had no problem biting an enemy to heal himself, disturbing as it was to become Count Dracula.
The Self-Body Fluid Property Manipulation didn't make much sense to him. Apparently, it allowed him to control any of his bodily fluids. That was the entire description given to the skill, with no further details on how it worked. Many of his new skills barely had any descriptors beside them, leaving him clueless about how they worked.
However, Substance X's skills... Those were, in his opinion, probably the craziest things he received.
[All Status Immunity]
[Greater Experience And Skill Boost]
I just gained a permanent Substance X boost without needing to suffer from its side effects, plus maxed out the status resistance skill I've been slowly building up for months. I just need to get through this dose, and I can stop taking the pills.
He closed the menu and leaned back against the tree, shutting his brain off for a bit. The night air was cool, and his chest and arms looked as if he were steaming as he cooled off from the run. The sounds of frogs and crickets could be heard nearby, and the hoot of an owl echoed over the lake.
It was very peaceful; peaceful enough that he could fall asleep here. He closed his eyes for a bit, allowing the sounds of the night to relax him.
After some time had passed, he opened his eyes and was surprised and delighted. A bunch of nearby flowers began to glow, bathing the area around him in a warm pink light. They pulsed slowly, giving the mist floating in the air an ethereal glow. They began to open up, their blossoms emitting a wonderful smell that flooded his nostrils. It was such a magical experience that made him wonder if he was having another one of his lucid dreams. It really seemed like he was.
"Ha, ha, wow. What nice muscles you have! You're so big and strong!" A magical, silky smooth feminine voice said beside him, causing him to nearly jump out of his skin. "Don't be scared. All I wanna do is talk a little."
Beside him was one of the most physically beautiful women he had ever met. She had long, wavy green hair that reached midway down her back, with two long bangs framing a very sensual-looking face. Her plump, kissable lips formed a mischievous smile, and her emerald-green eyes sparkled playfully up at him through her long eyelashes.
She is gorgeous... and her eyes are incredibly expressive. I could stare into them for hours. Is this what my dream girl actually looks like?
Her cheeks had a slight blush, highlighting her higher cheekbones, but otherwise she had flawless white skin that covered a very curvy, sensual, breedable body. She was nearly naked, with just a couple of leaves covering her nipples and one more covering her vulva. She was probably around five feet tall, though it was hard to tell since she was on all fours beside him, running her fingers up and down his abs. His eyes drifted to her DDD cup breasts as she spoke; the large orbs were dangling in the air, swaying back and forth tantalizingly as she wiggled her ass a bit. The swaying also shifted her hair, revealing pointed ears that had been hidden behind the thick locks. He also noticed she had a little pink-and-orange flower with leaves on the back of her head, wearing it like a little hat.
"Where in the world did you come from? Did I fall asleep and start dreaming?" He asked, confused.
I'm pent up so badly I'm even lucid dreaming about having sex now. I was exhausted as hell and probably ran around thirty miles. Now there is an ethereal beauty in front of me, and this magical world surrounding us. I must be dreaming. Nothing else makes sense.
She chuckled as if he had said the funniest joke in the world, then crawled up into his lap and straddled him. "Of course I am. I am the best dream you will ever have." She said, grinding her crotch on Little John while kissing his chest. "Now, strong guy, make love to me. I want to be soaked in your essence as you fill me with your seed."
That was all it took for John to finally break and give in to his lust.
He was just happy this was in his dreams.
