The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated
Chapter 846: 'I, Lucy, Will Rise Today!'
Thus, Shien went to the royal palace, intending to have Lucy take him to see the Old Demon Faction captives.
Then… Shien came out of the palace, cursing.
“Damn it, what the hell is going on?”
Shien couldn’t help but swear.
There was no helping it.
In the past five minutes, his Instant Movement, targeted at Lucy’s chambers, had misfired again, causing him to barge into places he shouldn’t have, several times.
As if the legitimate princesses and His Majesty’s concubines weren’t enough to satisfy the appetite of his teleportation, this time, the places Shien was transported to were all the bedrooms or bathrooms of princesses from the royal family’s branch lines.
Recalling the expanses of fair skin and the beautiful curves, while Shien felt like he had profited somewhat, he was mostly annoyed.
“Once or twice is fine, but this happening again and again, there’s definitely a problem.”
Not only the Instant Movement, but even when he tried to go to Lucy’s chambers personally, he would, for various reasons, stumble upon scenes he shouldn’t have, disrupting his destination.
If there was no problem with this, no one, not even Shien himself, would believe it.
Furthermore, Lucy hadn’t come to see him even once these past few days. This was clearly unusual.
“If I didn’t go see her for so many days, she would definitely come looking for me to settle the score. But now she’s so calm, without any reaction…”
Shien narrowed his eyes.
He felt like he had found the truth.
“This damn situation, no other power could intervene, only the power to manipulate fate…”
Alright, Shien understood.
And as he grasped this point, a burning rage surged in his heart.
“If you don’t discipline them for three days, they’ll climb onto the roof and uncover the tiles, is that it?”
Shien’s face became expressionless.
“Since that’s the case, don’t blame me.”
Leaving these words behind, Shien turned and entered the royal palace once again.
However, this time, Shien wasn’t heading towards Lucy’s chambers, but towards Ancil’s.
…
At the same time, in Lucy’s room.
Lucy was leisurely sipping black tea, looking relaxed and elegant.
“After so many days, with that guy’s intelligence, he should have figured out that I’m the one behind this, deliberately avoiding him, right?”
Lucy was thinking about Shien.
Although she hadn’t seen Shien these past few days, she knew all of his movements through the reports of her knights.
Therefore, Lucy knew that Shien had looked for her several times but hadn’t succeeded even once.
Under such circumstances, Shien must have realized it was her doing.
“He should be panicking now, right?”
Lucy muttered to herself smugly.
In her imagination, Shien must be panicking now.
After all, she had always gone along with his wishes, being obedient to him. Now, she was even using her power to keep him away. He would definitely realize that she was truly angry this time.
He might even be anxious, eager to see her, yet unable to, eventually falling into great distress.
“I want you to panic!”
“I want you to be anxious!”
“I want you to understand that I, the Kingdom Treasure, the princess of the Mitra Kingdom, also have a temper!”
“I, Lucy, will rise today!”
Thinking of this, Lucy couldn’t help but fantasize.
That was, through this lesson, that guy would cherish her more, love her more, carefully protect her, comply with her every wish, and let her dominate him like a queen.
That way, that guy wouldn’t be so presumptuous in the future, flirting with random women without her consent.
“That’s right! I’m the rightful queen! What Dragon Demon and Succubus, they all have to step aside!”
Feeling triumphant, Lucy even wanted to stand up, put her hands on her hips, and laugh heartily.
But she held back.
It wasn’t time to celebrate yet.
When that guy couldn’t see her and collapsed outside in despair, that would be the time for her grand entrance.
By then, after experiencing the pain of loss, that guy would cherish her even more.
That would be wonderful!(^^)
“I’ll give him another day.”
“There are two days left until the Tripartite Conference. I can’t keep ignoring him until then.”
“Yes, let him panic for another day, and tomorrow, I’ll lift the power and give him a big surprise.”
After making this decision, Lucy picked up her teacup and once again sipped her tea leisurely and contentedly.
However, just as Lucy was immersed in her beautiful fantasies about the future, panicked voices of female knights came from outside the door.
“Your Highness! Your Highness!”
The frantic voices pulled Lucy out of her fantasy, and she frowned.
“What is it? Disturbing my daydreams.” Lucy muttered unhappily, then coughed slightly, making her voice cold and sharp. “What are you panicking about?”
Lucy’s displeasure was evident in her voice.
Unfortunately, the female knight outside seemed oblivious.
She continued to shout frantically.
“It’s terrible, Your Highness!”
The female knight’s voice was almost a wail.
“The Hero went to His Majesty the King!”
“To annul the engagement with Your Highness!”
“He… he wants to break off the engagement!”
These words clearly reached Lucy’s ears.
“Crash!”
The teacup slipped from Lucy’s hand, falling to the ground and shattering into pieces.
Lucy seemed unaware, sitting there blankly.
Only two words remained in her mind.
“Break… off…?”
…This isn’t how the script is supposed to go! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
…
The King’s chambers.
At this moment, Shien was eloquently explaining his thoughts to Ancil, who sat before him with a bewildered expression, and even Aldia.
“People are always impulsive when they are young. Only after they grow up and experience the harsh realities of society do they realize that not everything in this world is beautiful.”
“Like marriage, how many people look forward to it before marriage, filled with fantasies, but once they get married, they often only sigh, saying that entering marriage is like entering a grave.”
“Even if they love each other deeply, faced with the practical problems of daily life, they will argue, quarrel, complain, and even dislike each other.”
“Even without such problems, there’s the so-called seven-year itch.”
“What does this tell us?”
“It tells us that marriage isn’t something to be taken lightly!”
Shien expounded on this concept with a serious expression.
“Therefore, I believe that youthful impulses should be restrained.”
“Like marriage, such a major life event, it’s best to carefully consider it to avoid future regrets caused by impulsiveness.”
“What? You say I can’t control my impulses? I impulsively beat up all those who came to visit a few days ago?”
“No, no, no, that wasn’t my idea. Shafney didn’t want to see those sycophants. I personally thought it was quite heartless and cruel of her, and I advised her many times, but she wouldn’t listen to me. I had no choice but to take action.”
“Believe it or not, I believe it!”
Shien spoke until his mouth was dry, then gave the bewildered Ancil a big smile.
“In conclusion, Your Majesty, I think it’s best not to get married yet. What do you think?”
Hearing this, Ancil couldn’t answer Shien’s question immediately.
He was completely dumbfounded, his face bewildered, with three lines clearly written on his forehead:
“Who am I?”
“Where am I?”
“What am I doing?”
He was that confused.
Not only Ancil, but even Aldia froze, barely managing to control his expression, which almost broke his usual cold and indifferent demeanor.
They couldn’t understand what Shien was trying to say at all.
Why could they understand every single word, but not when they were put together?
Why did these words sound so absurd, yet somehow make sense?
The two leaders of the kingdom, brainwashed by Shien’s eloquent fallacies, were completely bewildered, looking at each other, neither of them able to react to the current situation.
And this was precisely what Shien wanted.
“Don’t understand? It’s okay!”
“Just know that what I’m saying are unparalleled words of wisdom.”
“These are words of wisdom summarized by countless predecessors in my world.”
“You don’t understand now, but you will in the future.”
After saying this, Shien took out a parchment, spread it before Ancil, and smiled.
He looked just like a criminal running a pyramid scheme.
“Come, come, come, Your Majesty, just sign here, sign your name!”
“Once you sign this, everything will be resolved, everyone will be happy, and everyone will find happiness!”
“Don’t hesitate. Hesitation will lead to…defeat!”
“Here, I’ve prepared everything!”
Shien stuffed a quill into Ancil’s hand, sat beside him, put his arm around his shoulder, and coaxed him like a close friend.
“Listen to me, I’m the Hero. Listening to me is never wrong!”
Shien patted Ancil’s shoulder, causing the bewildered and confused Ancil to subconsciously say,
“Just sign my name?”
Ancil still hadn’t realized the gravity of the situation.
And Shien naturally wouldn’t give him time to react.
“Yes! Just sign your name! If you have a seal or something, that would be even better!”
“Come on!”
“Come on!”
“Come on!”
Accompanied by Shien’s incessant urging, Ancil, as if truly possessed, reflexively wanted to sign his name on the parchment.
“Y-Your Majesty!”
Finally, Aldia successfully broke free from his bewilderment, saw the title on the parchment, and regained his senses.
Upon closer inspection, at the top of the parchment, a line of large words was written: “Engagement Annulment Agreement.”
Seeing this, Aldia couldn’t remain calm any longer and intended to intervene.
Unfortunately…
“[Bestowal Magic – Bind].”
With a soft incantation, an extraordinary binding force suddenly acted upon Aldia, firmly restraining him.
“…!”
Aldia’s pupils constricted, subconsciously struggling, but he found himself completely unable to break free.
Now, Aldia’s expression completely changed.
A simple binding spell, yet it rendered him, a level ninety-nine expert only one step away from Limit Level, unable to even resist?
What kind of power was this!?
Aldia looked at Shien in astonishment.
Shien simply glanced at him, giving him a look.
That look clearly said…
“Don’t interfere.”
Seeing this, Aldia’s expression changed repeatedly.
But he couldn’t change anything anymore.
“I… I’ve signed it.”
Ancil, in a daze, signed his name, looking like he had been brainwashed by a pyramid scheme.
“Excellent!”
Shien curled his lips in satisfaction, picking up the parchment.
Just then, the door to Ancil’s room was forcefully thrown open.
“W-wait a minute!”
Lucy, her eyes turned golden, finally made her grand entrance.
However, at this moment, Lucy showed none of her usual coldness and composure in goddess mode, nor her perfect princess image. Instead, like a terrorist, her face was fierce, scaring both Ancil and Aldia silly.
Shien, on the other hand, his smile vanished. Like an assassin who had completed his mission, he calmly put the parchment into his pocket and stood up.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave, Your Majesty.”
Shien bowed respectfully to Ancil, then turned to look at Lucy.
Only a sneer remained on his face.
“Congratulations on becoming single again, Your Highness.”
Leaving behind this declaration, Shien brushed past Lucy and swaggered out of Ancil’s room.
Only Lucy remained, trembling as she looked at her father.
“Y-you… you agreed to break off the engagement?”
Lucy looked at her father in disbelief.
“I…”
Ancil finally regained his senses, recalling what he had just done, his face twitching in a daze.
“It seems… I agreed…”
These words were met with silence.
Aldia had already broken free from the binding spell but stood there, speechless.
Ancil’s face crumbled.
As for Lucy, her entire mentality collapsed.
“I was… dumped…”
“Dumped…”
“Dumped…”
“Dumped…”
“…”
In a daze, Lucy seemed to see herself pregnant, disowned by the royal family, sitting on the street, being pointed at and gossiped about, her face stained with tears.
Naturally, her ideal life of leisure had vanished.
Rise?
She had completely fallen!
“W-wait a minute!~~”
Lucy rushed out of the room, chasing after Shien.
“W-what have I done…!?”
Ancil slammed his head on the table, wishing he could die on the spot.
Aldia didn’t say anything, didn’t dare to say anything, only raising a hand to cover his face.
Truly…unbearable to watch.
What kind of mess was he serving?
