Chapter 2125: The Unstoppable Force
Chapter 2125: The Unstoppable Force
The angels have heard of Arad before; they heard of what he has done, and what he could achieve. But none of them had expected him to be such an unhinged monster. To walk into Death’s domain, and pick a soul which didn’t belong to him, and then leave unscathed. Just how in the nine hells did he pull that off?
They are angels of peace, and they were present on that day. They had seen and felt Arad’s presence after his fight with Eris, and they had just realized that he was even scarier than they had felt at that moment. When they saw him at that time, they felt such a dark, eldritch power from him that the universe looked as if it had collapsed on itself around him, but now... that had extended even further.
Seeing him now standing in front of them, carrying a soul that was supposed to belong to Death, they could only imagine what would be needed to stop this monster if he wanted to kill someone. Arad will kill his victim in life, and then chase them to the afterlife and even to hell and heaven; there is nowhere in the universe where you can hide from him.
Arad walked past the angels and crossed the gate. "I’m taking her to Isdis. Do you want to follow me?" As he asked, the angels looked at each other and then decided to just follow him. They knew he was Isdis’s husband, so he wasn’t a threat, and they knew of his power, so he wasn’t in any danger. But they still wanted to follow him and see for themselves just what he would do.
Ever since the angels of peace got under Isdis, their powers had started changing quite drastically, which was expected. Following after Arad, the freezing cold didn’t bother them at all, and in fact, it was their new element.
Usually, a god’s servants are separated into angels and archons, which each have several ranks in them. But those are the two major ones with the biggest change. While archon have their own powers, something like lesser portfolios, angels draw power directly from their god, so they share a lot of similar abilities.
Those angels can now use a wide range of temperature magic and mainly ice abilities, all on top of their divine magic that is derived from control and peace, so mind control and healing. Neither of which looked to be usable against Arad.
The angels could tell at a glance that Arad was far too hot and active for them to freeze, too mentally strong to be dominated, and that healing itself was useless. Their goddess, Isdis, is still far weaker than Eris, and if Arad’s fight with Eris is anything to go by, then he can probably massacre this entire heaven, angels and Isdis included, if he wanted.
Alga looked back over Arad’s shoulder at the angels and then forward toward the massive and towering castle in front of them. The titanic thing looked as if it was built from solid, dark blue ice, and it was engulfed by a deadly, never-ending blizzard that was both as dense as a wall and as clear as glass. She couldn’t understand how the blizzard worked, but seeing her confusion, one of the angels spoke.
"The Blizzard is an extension of her divinity, Isdis. It is both a safe passage to those allowed and a deadly storm to the uninvited. We are welcome, so we can both perceive the storm’s deadly power and see through it and pass unharmed." The angel flew to start floating beside Arad’s shoulder, "It is the last line of defense."
"You’ve built a lot in such a short time." Arad looked at the castle with a smile, and the angel shook her head. "We barely did that much; the angels of her Divinity Eris helped us a lot. I can’t say that I’ve ever seen two factions of angels able to use each other’s power with such ease."
The angel lifted her hand, and a ball of purple plasma burned between her fingers. "Even if I am an angel of Isdis, I can also draw on Eris’s power. It’s a special relationship between them and not just them. Her divinity Cerilla and Mira are also linked." She threw a glance at Arad, "With this, they can supply each other with divine magic if needed."
Arad looked at the purple sun burning in the sky. "That’s Eris’s heaven over there. Relatively speaking, it isn’t that far."
After walking forward for several minutes, they finally reached the gate of the castle’s main keep, where they could finally see thousands of angels flying all over the place, carrying titanic chunks of ice on their shoulders like it was nothing. Alga was too horrified when she saw one angel flying away with an entire mountain.
"Wait! That’s Lord Arad; I’ll inform the divines of your arrival." The guard, an angel who was a tall man, standing at almost two meters in height, holding a halberd of pure ice. He lifted his hand, and before he could say another one, one of the angels following Arad flew in and punched him aside. "Move! Just open the door!"
As she growled, the angel glared right back at her. "No one breaks the rules on my watch!" He swung back at her, sending her right to the ground. Even Arad didn’t understand why those two started fighting, but a second later, an archon, one of Eris’s angels, landed behind them with a large frown on her face.
"Two angels fighting. What’s going on?" She was about to scold them both, but the moment she noticed Arad, who for some reason had such a faint presence that he could disappear into the background, she jumped down to prostrate herself in front of him.
"Lord Arad, the gate is open; please go in and ignore those two." As they heard her, the two stopped fighting. They have never seen an archon kneel to someone beside their divine, yet here they are.
"I’ll handle those angels. Please leave it to me." Hearing that, Arad walked through the gate, and all of the angels were left with that archon. She was silent for a second, and then yelled at them. "You fool! Don’t you know who that is?"
The angel who was with Arad cried, "I know! I was trying to tell this fool not to slow us down at the gate!"
"I know who he is, and I know what Isdis’s orders are. They are simple, and it takes only a few seconds for me to call her and get the gate open." As he growled, the archon rubbed her face in frustration. "Both of you are wrong, far too wrong. For once, we aren’t in Divine Isdis’s heaven or Divine Eris’s heaven; we are inside him. This entire space is under his authority. If he wished, anyone here would be digested. All rules and barriers won’t stop him, not even the divine authority of Divine Isdis or Divine Eris."
She then approached them, "Also, I’ll let you in on one secret... Have you seen that archon called Baal?"
They looked at each other and then remembered who Baal was. That horrifying archon who was flying through the dark void of Arad’s stomach all the time.
"Yes..." They both replied, and she looked around, called all the other angels to gather, and whispered. "I’ve seen him twice, and as an archon, I could tell... He isn’t an archon, but an Archangel."
The angels almost shat themselves again, "Since when?! Can Amaterasu make Archangels just like that, with no ceremony or anything?" As they started mumbling and arguing, the archon calmed them down. "That isn’t the important part." She then looked horrified herself. "From what I heard from Archon Mathilde and Dalia... Lord Arad made him; he gave birth to an Archangel."
"How could that be!?"
