The dragon's harem
Chapter 2268: The Princesses Private Quarter XXVIII
It didn’t take Arad long to calm down, and when he did, the three could finally sigh in relief. The level of power he was emitting was far above what anyone here could handle, and they didn’t want to be forced to form a nest here, out of all places.
As Arad sat down and took a deep breath, Isdis and her maids sat beside him and looked at his chest for a long moment. "If you were to hibernate here, this entire place would’ve been blown to bits." Isdis smiled, and Arad nodded. "Yeah, I stopped it. I won’t evolve unless I allow it, and I can stay awake for longer."
Rey lifted her hand and flicked her fingers, cleaning the whole room and everyone. Ray then stood, clapped her hands, and looked around. "Time to sleep. Everyone will sleep in this room, including the maids, and you’ll sleep naked."
As she declared that, the maids inside the princess’s rooms slowly walked out, and they looked both confused and worried. So Rey was the one to stand and look at them now. "You are only allowed to wear socks, stockings, and underwear if they are desirable enough."
Rey then approached one of the maids, who was a beautiful, tall woman with a well-defined figure, silky, long, light brown hair, radiant blue eyes, and a face so beautiful it made even women blush when looking at them.
"Strip." She spoke, and the maid did just that. In seconds, she had stripped off her whole maid outfit and was left wearing only her thigh-high socks. "Tell me honestly, what do you want of this night?"
The maid smiled, threw a short glance toward Arad, and then replied. "I was hoping... that I’d enjoy a few moments with His Majesty." She then frowned. "But it doesn’t seem to be possible now. Is he okay?"
Rey smiled. "He is okay." She then pointed at several other maids. "You’ll all sleep around us." Ray had already prepared Arad’s massive futon, and when he lay down, Isdis and the rest of his wives and maids all crawled around him.
So when Arad closed his eyes to sleep, he could feel it clearly on his body. Many of his wives hadn’t fallen asleep and had instead chosen to lick and rub themselves on his body. He wasn’t against that, so he just stayed still and shifted his consciousness toward more important matters.
When he opened his eyes this time, he was looking right through Eris’s eyes. She was in her private tent, talking with Zia, Linda, and Luminous.
"With Kayden’s help, a direct assault might work, but that Avatar is a problem. Baal should be able to slow it down, or even tank its attacks, but that’s risky." Eris explained, and Zia nodded. "We must find a way to deal with the avatar first. A surprise attack might be possible with Luminous’s speed."
Luminous giggled. "Take it down? That’s impossible to achieve with a single attack. That avatar should know that we know of its existence, and it’ll be planning to counter all of our possible plans."
"This avatar..." Linda looked at her. "Can it be affected by time magic?"
Luminous shook her head. "Yes and no; depends on what exact kind of Avatar we are dealing with. Nyar makes them all look the same, but they all have different stats and abilities, which are mostly based on what poor little abomination he mutated to become a vessel for his power."
Eris nodded. "That’s exactly why Merlin and Sena are trying to spy on the abominations. We need to figure that out." She then scratched her head. "But we don’t have much time left before they arrive."
Zia gulped. "Sadly, I’m not strong enough to help." She looked down, but Eris reached and patted her on the head. "Don’t worry about it. Just having you with me is good enough." She then looked up. "When the fight starts, hide in my blood."
It was then that Merlin and Sena walked in, and with them came a blue-haired goddess that Eris and the rest didn’t know. They all looked at them, and Merlin smiled. "Let me introduce you: this is a lesser goddess of paths. She guides people through darkness and saves the lost.
Eris looked at her, and the goddess bowed down. "I’m here to find paths that we could use to mount our attacks. Glad to work with you."
Luminous laughed. "Hecate, it’s been a while. I see you’ve grown a bit taller and stronger." She leaned inside the black cocoon of shadows. "So you see a path? What is it?"
Hecate looked at Eris, and then spoke in a cold tone. "There are more than five paths that I see, and we could possibly use to win, but each comes with its own risk." Her eyes shifted a bit, and her voice grew a bit heavier.
"But there is a sixth path. I know you’re watching, Great One. You... you can take down that Avatar and the entire army on your own, right?"
Eris’s eyes grew narrower. How did this goddess sniff Arad out? She can’t figure it out, and that’s triggering her.
"May I talk with him? The great one who is looking through your eyes." The goddess asked, and Eris’s face twisted into an even bigger frown.
"Why would I do that? He is quite exhausted. So I don’t feel like bringing him here; we’ll handle this situation on our own." As Eris replied, the goddess gulped. "I suggest that we get him on board. Even with Lady Amaterasu and Lady Yog around, the only path I see to a victory with minimal casualties is with him here."
"Is that what you think? How confident are you? Just how bad is the difference between him being here and not?" Eris leaned forward. "As I said, it might not be worth it to bring him here."
Goddess Hecate was already sweating buckets. "The paths that I can see are linked to our fate and future. They are like routes and crossings that we must get past to reach a desired outcome, and every person affects them by different amounts."
Now, the goddess was shaking. "I saw Amaterasu’s path, and it was galactic in size, burning with billions of stars, tearing a path open through impossibility for us to reach. Same for Yog, her path was as convoluted as a maze, but the end result was just as great as Amaterasu. An absolute crushing victory for us."
Hecate then gulped. "I saw your path, Kayden’s path, everyone’s path. They are all great, far greater than someone like me can even dream of achieving..." She then pissed herself on the spot as her face paled. "But... when I saw his path... his... it was..." She fell to her knees, trembling. "Dark, cold, violent, chaotic, and unstoppable. It consumed everything and anything. If Amaterasu’s path was a billion glowing, gem-like stars spread across space... then he was the darkness suffocating them."
She started giggling as if she had gone mad. "Even Yog’s convoluted plans all failed to compare to the sheer complexity of his madness and chaotic methods. He... he..." She looked up at her. "He is the one who created that Archangel... wasn’t he? I can see them, hear them, and feel them... the kneeling Archangels in the divine dimension all glaring down at his battle, ready to swoop down and violate the very existence of the invading abominations, and they are seething."
Eris maintained her frown. ^This goddess... she is probably sensing Arad’s fate as AO..."
