?COME ON, TRY HARDER, DAMON!" She grinned.

?

?’Maybe it’s time I end the fight.’ I thought, skating on to my feet.

?

?The reflection merged with me promptly detached from me before dispelling. And in that same moment, another reflection appeared and merged into me.

?

?BOOM!

?

?My aura shot through the roof and the water around me exploded upwards like a jet fountain. But I had already disappeared from there.

?

?Before Sia could even blink, I had appeared behind her, my hand dropping to the back of her neck in a chopping motion.

?

?BOOM!

?

?The chop sent Sia shooting into the water at overwhelming speeds, and I held my breath and immediately shot after her, my body streaking like a missile.

?

?I located her in an instant and swarmed towards her at full speed, my hand reaching to punch her, but Sia suddenly twisted with maddening grace and slipped over me, before slamming her fist directly to my temple.

?

?My consciousness went hazy for a second as the force made me want to release the air inside me, but I knew better than to do that.

?

?I felt Sia’s hand clasp onto my throat, before she proceeded to drag me head first across the sea bed using me as some sort of drill.

?

?I slipped into the mirror dimension to escape her assault, but it still took me a moment to regain myself.

?

?It was then that I noticed something strange about Sia. There she stood floating a little distance away from me, her eyes now opened.

?

?’Fuck me!’ My eyes widened. Behind Sia’s ears were small red fins with a slight blueish tint.

?

?For quite a long while, I stared gobsmacked. If this was on land, I was pretty sure my jaw would have been hitting the ground.

?

?’How in the hell...’ My thoughts strayed. Was Sia a merfolk all along. If so, then why was she masquerading as a human? No, there must be something more at play with this.

?

?’But isn’t Sevas her father?’ my mind churned before finally settling.

?

?’I see now, so she’s a hybrid.’ I thought as I thought back to a conversation we had when I had just figured out Ms present was Sia.

?

?At that time, I had asked her why she was relatively unknown compared to other princes/ princesses of the human domain and just popped out of nowhere.

?

?And she had replied with; "I was with my mother’s side of the family." But that still didn’t excuse her from getting know. I mean, figures like Calum, Levi and the rest were quite well know. Hell, even children of 4th tier families were known.

?

?’Its all coming together.’ I thought. ’Anastasia Necron, a human merfolk hybrid.’

?

?Meanwhile, Sia smiled. "You can stop racking your brain, I am human.... and a merfolk, nothing more nothing less."

?

?’I can see that.’ I replied internally. I couldn’t open my mouth for obvious reasons. It seemed I would have to procure an underwater breathing technique or artifact.

?

?"I didn’t have any intentions of revealing my hybrid nature today, but you practically forced me." Anastasia continued. "Were we to be on land I wouldn’t have taken this decision, but since we’re underwater, I decided to transform into my realized hybrid form."

?

?Calling it a transformation was a stretch, since she only grew fins behind her ears, but since I couldn’t talk for the moment, I let her have it.

?

?But jokes aside, the merfolk were a lot stronger in water than they were on land. Their strength was around ten percent reduced when they were on land, which was why, no opponent would literally try to fight a merfolk of the same caliber of strength in water.

?

?Not to mention, the merfolk were definitely faster than you are when it came to swimming speed, maneuvering in water, and even underwater combat.

?

?Now, I didn’t know if that applied to Sia or not due to her nature as a hybrid, but I’m willing to bet it did, judging from the smug expression on her face.

?

?For some reason, I had the urge to wipe that smug expression off her face, even though I had to admit, it only made her look prettier.

?

?Also, for all her smugness, Sia was forgetting that she was still at the Zeta rank, while I was at the Zeta+ rank. Plus, I still hadn’t merged with a reflection that boosted my stats to the peak.

?

?So no matter what, I could still pretty much defeat her no matter how much being in her natural environment boosted her, or so I thought.

?

?The next moment, Sia vanished in a blur and arrived behind me. I instinctively swung my hand in a backhand, but it was absurdly slower than I thought considering we were underwater, pressure and all.

?

?But it seemed Sia had no such draw back, if anything, she seemed even more boosted than on land.

?

?She shifted from behind me to my side with maddening fluidity, it didn’t even look like she was trying and more like the water was supporting her.

?

?Sia kicked at my side, but I slipped into the mirror dimension, letting her leg slip past through me.

?

?I had learnt something from the past few minutes since our match started. Someone at the same level could never defeat Sia.

?

?Not Alistair, Namor, or even Kaal. Her specific abilities just made it impossible to do so. There was literally no way you could defeat someone who could see everything you would do a second before you did it.

?

?And add the ability to also slow down time at the same time? Yeah there was no way to beat her. If I kept as I was now, fighting her on an even scale, there was no way I was going to beat her anytime soon, we would simply continue to fight until our aether was exhausted.

?

?Which brought me back to the only way to defeat her. Massively out scale her physically in strength and speed. There was little she could do even if she saw me speed blitzing her a second before I did as she would be too slow to react.

?

?The moment I made my decision, a prime reflection appeared, next to me,.radiating an intense aura that surpassed even mine currently. While still in the mirror dimension, I detached the former reflection from myself, and merged with the new one all while Sia watched with a curious gaze.

?

?The moment I merged with the prime reflection, my eyes glowed a furious incandescent silver, and so did the crescent mark on my forehead.

?

?My entire body was shrouded in my silver aura before I locked gaze with Sia. The moment the muscles around her eyes slightly moved, begining to narrow, my fist had already struck her stomach.

?

?Sia shot backwards before she could even blink, but I disappeared from my spot, the water detonating with a shocking boom in my wake.

?

?I shot past Sia’s figure before turning with a spinning kick and kicked her into the sea bed before she could even react.

?

?BOOM!

?

?An enormous crater formed where she had crashed into as a powerful concussive force tore through the water in resonant waves.

?

?’Is she out?’ I thought for a moment after seeing any lack of movement from the storm of debris inside the water.

?

?But the next moment, I felt something, and simply stepped to the side.

?

?A powerful burst exploded right where my head was as a sharp sword zipped through the space.

?

?I reached out and caught the sword before it could leave my range, cancelling out it’s momentum, before throwing it to the side where I sensed Sia’s movements.

?

?The sword punched a boom into the water, the force erupting outwards from its movements in a circle as it left my hand.

?

?It reached Sia almost instantly, but the redhead had already seen it coming and with the grace of a fish in water, tilted her entire body away.

?

?She still couldn’t escape it though, as the sword cut a line across her right cheek, before zooming past.

?

?The next moment however, her eyes widened, as I calmly placed my sword at her neck at speeds she could barely perceive and couldn’t react to.

?

?’So?’ I raised a brow and tilted my head.

?

?It took a while of hard staring contest, before Sia finally looked away and muttered with a resigned sigh.

?

?"I forfeit!" Her voice rang out clear even in the water.

?

?The next moment, the proctor’s familiar booming voice rang through everywhere.

?

?"DAMON DARKFELL WINS!!!!!"

?

?’Damon Darkfell huh, I guess I like the sound of my name ringing out.’ I inwardly chuckled.

?

?--------

?

?Meanwhile, as Sia’s friends marvelled at the fact that their friend who was in reality a hybrid had been hidden to them, and everyone in Nahaar were baffled about the fact that a hybrid had existed right under their noses and managed to lived past her awakening, a chill of gargantuan scale sped towards the capital city of the demon empire.

?

?The chill froze everything in its way, be it entire cities, water bodies, or even the lesser branches of the divine tree. The only thing it didn’t free, quite surprisingly, were the civilians.

?

?The alpha rankers meanwhile, who weren’t really all that surprised about Sia’s true race, safe for Selene, Celeste, and Sevas who were particularly smoking that their precious spawn has lost against Amon’s, all sensed the chill almost simultaneously.

?

?Their eyes all widened, Amon’s especially, before a wide grin split open his lips as a mad glint passed through his eyes.

?

?He vanished soon after, reducing his seat to nothingness.

?

?The other races’ alpha rankers all turned to the human alpha rankers in the room, with a narrowed gaze, before Rhudeus spoke, with not a touch of sincerety to this words.

?

?"Congratulations are in order, it seems the human race has gained another Demi immortal."

?

?"Its the Darkfell you should congratulate." Sevas muttered with chill tone, his earlier furious expression vanishing.
