Chapter 340: A Paradise Without Adults

  • Next Chapter

Someone who’s still soaked from the rain has no business holding an umbrella for another. It’s a wonder they don’t just steal theirs.

Han Su was keenly aware of his precarious position. He had just suffered a major defeat and had yet to find a way to turn the tables. He shouldn’t have let himself be distracted.

But some things simply had to be dealt with.

Otherwise, he might lose the courage to face many things in the future.

So, for the first time in his life, he was utterly ruthless, striking to kill an opponent who was clearly weaker than him and a complete stranger.

His Spiritual Power rolled over them like an ocean, wave after wave. Then, answering its call, countless “prisoners” burst forth from every corner of the secret prison, pouncing on the guards.

At that moment, he was like a god walking through the chaotic prison.

He merely held the Emperor’s Book, enduring its endless corruption, and in doing so, activated an even stronger Spiritual Power.

Copper-colored blood surged in every direction as an eerie mist descended. Even the Ghost Truck appeared, its two large headlights glaring. It cheerfully joined the throng of rebelling, chaotic creatures, destroying everything in sight and fitting right in.

‘This feeling of euphoria…’

Amidst the endless chaos, Han Su couldn’t suppress an indescribable joy. It felt like a rush of blood was surging straight to the crown of his head.

He could even feel that as the Emperor’s Book devoured countless black substances, his own Divine Material was expanding to its absolute limit.

Yet even after it reached that limit, the book continued to devour more black substances. As a result, more of the Emperor’s Text appeared, causing his Divine Material to condense its power and even begin to break through that very limit…

Then, amid the chaos, he witnessed something astonishing: his Divine Material split.

One portion of Divine Material had split into two.

‘It split?’

…

The change stunned Han Su.

He had only completed the “Understanding” part of his second-stage Mysterious Power training, from which he’d learned the theory of the Four Heavenly Kings.

But when it came to the “Stealing” stage, his method, which involved the Emperor’s Book, was so fundamentally different from anyone else’s theory that he was still in uncharted territory.

He had planned to figure it out slowly, but he never expected to have stolen so much this time. His power had grown too quickly.

All at once, he had broken into a realm he’d never before experienced.

‘The Divine Material actually split?’

Han Su forced himself to calm down and silently contemplated the concept of Divine Material.

He knew it was the very essence of a person. Besides being called Divine Material, it was also known as the God Factor or Golden Cells.

It was the code for life’s evolution, containing the secrets to all change. But it was also so mysterious, complex, and possessed such a surreal potential that the academic world had been unable to truly define it.

‘But, since it’s also called “Golden Cells,” doesn’t that make splitting seem normal?’

And after the split…

Han Su’s eyes drifted shut, then snapped open. He could feel a change in his body, as if every cell was brimming with power. He felt more in tune with the world, and his control over his Spiritual Power had become exquisitely precise.

The world before him, once a blur of chaos, sharpened into perfect clarity.

He saw that the security personnel from Giant Horn City stationed here had been torn to shreds by the countless abominations he had summoned. The survivors were screaming, desperately fleeing toward a specific location.

With no time to think, his Spiritual Power instantly merged with the shadow at his feet, which then stirred to life.

Zero Sequence Cipher Spell Number 07: [Become the Night Itself!]

This was the first time Han Su had used an Encrypted Spell since his Divine Material split, and he immediately felt the difference. Previously, using this Encrypted Spell would awaken something within the shadows, and he would rely on it to see and hear for him.

This time, however, he had the strange sensation that he himself was sinking into the shadows, that he *was* the shadow, seeing things directly.

‘Can the split Divine Material actually strengthen the Spiritual Power I send out?’

The sensation was bizarre. ‘I feel like I’ve become a constantly unfurling blanket, able to perceive everything I cover.’

Han Su clearly saw the remaining security personnel. They were desperately trying to activate a certain device in the secret prison. But without the password, they couldn’t activate it directly, and they couldn’t contact Mr. Wei Ya. Their only option was to rush to different locations to activate it manually.

‘They want to use the power of the entire secret prison itself?’

Han Su understood in an instant.

It was just like during the battle for Qinggang’s annihilation, when Song Chushi had used the power of the Third Reality Defense Line to trap Ms. Shen.

It was the same principle now.

The secret prison itself was a manifestation of an immensely powerful Spiritual Level. Once a certain key device was activated, its very mass could be used to suppress the riot.

In other words, the Independent Investigators weren’t the ones suppressing the prison; they were merely its guards.

The power of the reality defense line had been suppressing the secret prison all along.

‘If that’s the case…’

Han Su immediately made a decision. He began to gather his Spiritual Power, building its momentum as he searched for his target.

Although his power had skyrocketed, he was still no match for the sheer scale of the entire secret prison. However, as vast as the prison was, it also had its structural weaknesses.
