"We'll set up the array," Liu Mei said.

"Yes, just keep watch for now," Nan Yue said with a smile.

They were all at the Golden Core Perfection stage, so he believed Jiang Man was a capable fighter.

"Are the Demon Beasts attacking?" Nan Yue asked immediately.

Night Shadow nodded. "I saw the red Demon Beast. It's leading the other Demon Beasts to attack us."

"So while we were looking for it, it found us?" Liu Mei said, surprised. "I can't believe it's actually daring to attack first."

"It must have some objective," Nan Yue said with a frown. "Or perhaps it knows we don't have anyone at the Primordial Spirit realm with us.

"I've already called for reinforcements, but it will take time for other Primordial Spirit experts to arrive. We'll have to handle this ourselves for now.

"Our main objective is to stall for time."

This was Jiang Man's first time here, so he was unfamiliar with the situation.

The four looked over to see a massive, fiery-red fox striding toward them.

"I have all the clues you're looking for. Why are you in such a hurry to leave?" the fox said, smiling at them.

In that instant, a Spirit Attack began to assault their minds.

"A Charm Technique!" Nan Yue spat out a mouthful of blood essence, which instantly formed a barrier.

It shielded the four of them.

Only then did Liu Mei and the others snap out of it.

"Use whatever life-saving abilities you have. Don't hold back. If we can just hold out for a while, our reinforcements will arrive," Nan Yue said in a low, urgent voice.

"Stalling is useless. You cannot withstand the Attack of a Primordial Spirit." As the red fox's voice faded, it struck.

It took a single step and instantly appeared before the blood-red barrier.

It swiped a claw downward.
